    Thanks for posting this video. Already purchased the regulator for my compressor at Master Tools Repair. You saves me a couple hundreds I was about to spend on a new compressor!

    I picked up a "dead" compressor at the dump from the scrap heap. $25 worth of parts and it was good to go. Compressors are a fairly simple device, so repairs aren't super hard. great tips Kevin!!!

    The part is now obsolete. Is there any sort of replacement you would recommend? I don’t care about having the plastic cover on it

    First time viewer, great video, good solid common sense. I will watch for a while and see how you do. And as to age, that is tota;;y a state of mind. I will be 75 next month and still do quite well, 2 acres of grass to mow, 8 outbuildings,etc..

      Welcome aboard! Thanks for stopping by Jeffery. I hope to live into my 70's or 80's and still have some solid thinking. I am glad to have you here.

    Well, how many times I shut the camera down... but even worse is the times I don't, and see myself during editing (cutting out "non-suitable" scenes!) But you are completely right in finding tools that are repairable. Sometimes secondhand tools (mostly depending in what period they were made) seem to have a better quality than a lot of new ones! Certainly the ones on a lesser budget. All the best from (a bloody hot) Portugal!

      It has been pretty nice the last few days here, but the ten day forecast is quite hot. Welcome to summer in Wyoming. Thanks for popping in! Hope all is well on the lonely hill

    I have the same compressor. About a year ago the belt went out changed it. All good. Recently I went to turn it on. NOTHING, dead. Checked the outlet, it's fine. The compressor will not turn on. Any help would be appreciated.

      My thought would be moisture first. Is it inside a warm area? If not bring it inside for a day and try again. Maybe the motor has some dust or debris near the contact switch ... a couple ideas for ya friend.
      Let me know how it goes..

    I have the same compressor,I bought it second hand without the belt, I ordered a pair of belts from Ebay and put it, but only worked around one week and the belt began to slip more and more until the motor burned the belt becas of the slipping, put again a new one and happened the same. What can be? The issue starts like if the motor cant handle the pressure above 60psi, it begins to stall but I think it has strength because at the end it burns the belt

    You're right... the regulator manifold was a B^$%# to get off. Big problem though. What I ordered from Master Tool Repair was was not the same manifold as the original... not even a mail fitting from the manifold to the tank (even though I have the same model of compressor as you). If Master Tool can't get me the right part, my trusty old compressor is toast now.

    Do you know the hole and thread size for the regulator to tank? I had a hard time getting mine off as well. It wouldn't budge and broke at the tank and I tried an E-Z Out, but it couldn't budge the broken stud. I finally drilled it the reminder out, now I have to chase the threads.

      @MakinSawdust  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I sure wish I would have saved the old regulator now, because I would have measured the thread pitch and diameter for you.

    That was very satisfying. And I understand you leaving out the frustrating bit, believe me, I feel your pain! Good job all round mate. Thanks Kevin.

    Just so you don't have to wait on the shipping, Harbor Freight has those gauges. I had to get a new one for my portable air tank. And by the way, did you guys get the house ?

    Same compressor, but it won’t go over 112 PSI and won’t shut off. Now what??

    • @MakinSawdust
      @MakinSawdust  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      turn the red regulator know to the left. it will reduce the pressure

    • @brianbenoit8000
      @brianbenoit8000 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MakinSawdust that does not work, I could have the output pressure at 60PSI and the compressor still goes to about 115, keeps running and won’t shut off.
