    I already went with the yakima exo system. But holy heck i could not stop laughing watching this video. You are one hilarious funny dude. Thanks for being entertaining!

      How are you liking the Yakima Exo system? Im hesitant to get it because so much of the weight is in the swing frame

      @ketchum6455 absolutely right there is so much weight. I have a 2018 kia sorento. Once I got that thing installed in my hitch it made my back end bottom out. Without packing any gear in it.I had to get airlift 1000 airbags because of that. Kias suspension sucks. And I try to avoid using just because it makes your vehicle longer and can't see the back up camera if I use the gear locker. I use the roof box most if the time.

    So, I’m in the process of assembling mine for the first time. One question: When you remove the system when not in use, do you remove the entire system or do you remove the box from the frame first? Seems like removing the whole thing at once would be pretty hard given the weight and finding good places to hold onto.

    good job, as the last one I viewed had the rubber and metal washers on the trailer instead of inside the Cargo carrier

    Great vid man! Did you find it difficult to remove from the square receiver? I’m finding it impossible with the swing arm/box attached, so removed the large bolt. Thinking of greasing the receiver

      It is actually very tight and that is what we ended up doing, we sprayed some WD40 on it. Really helped! Thanks for watching!

    With the Stowaway attached do you now have to limit your speed on highways? Does it rattle when you go for highway speed?

    • @the.great.adventurers
      @the.great.adventurers  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching and posting! We haven't had to slow down for it, but we also don't speed. If you have securely attached, and your roof rails are secure, you won't notice any rattling. In fact, we have to pull back the visor on our sun roof so we can see it because we forget it's up there!

    This video has great energy, y'all are entertaining. Do you have any shots of how it looks when swung open from the rear? Been searching all over and I'm only finding side views. I'd like to see how far to the side it sits when open

      I looked to see if we had a pic, but I didn’t see one. However, we have a video called Campsite tour th-cam.com/video/lR-KY1_J2Rk/w-d-xo.html that shows Tracey opening the Stowaway back at 1:31. The stowaway will open up past the car but to keep it locked in the open position while unloading or loading you bring it back to where it lines up with the side of your vehicle. I hope that made sense to you.

    Take license plate to copy on water poof paper. To use on box you have change if using on different car.

      So you attach the waterproof paper copy of your plate to the box? Do you use the screws or attach the paper in some other way?

    I'm looking for a solution to a "spare tire" problem. I have a 2019 Prius Prime, and like a lot of cars nowadays, it didn't come with a spare tire. At all. Not even one of those miserable compact donut spares. Worse than that, there's not even a place within the car to put a spare tire if you did purchase one (which I did, yesterday). So I am looking at spare tire carriers that mount to a 2" hitch receiver, which I am getting installed on the car next week. Because the Prius is a hatchback, the spare tire carrier can't block access to the hatch, so it has to be a swing out. Looking at this cargo box, the idea looks good - for a full size SUV with a Class III hitch and rear frame capacity to carry 800 pounds of tongue weight. Unfortunately, my Prius can only support 200# of tongue weight. If this cargo box has 120 pounds empty weight, it's too heavy for my car. But it's a great idea!

      Maybe you can get a roof rack for the Prius.

    • @laura-ann.0726

      @@johnnypena1083 - I got a Thule cargo pod, that holds about 18 cubic feet, and a cargo basket and large storage tubby that hangs from the hitch receiver. The spare tire has found a home behind the front passenger seat. So my Prius has become a 3-seat car, but if I ever had to haul 4 people in it, the spare tire fits in the cargo pod.
