- The DSS has begun it's construction and everyone's curious about what it's going to mean for us going forward following the major buffs in the previous patch. This new space station will be bringing the new platoon system as well as many new powerful stratagems and weapons for us to use in Helldivers 2, and i've made this video to tell you all you need to know about what comes next.

Important to keep in mind like I said at the end this all is just speculation and things we've been able to infer based on leaks and nothing official from Arrowhead themselves. Correction, it is not Automaton space. It is Super Earth space currently under hostile occupation by the automatons. You might want to have a chat with your Democracy Officer. He'll steer your wording the right way.

SEAF support is gonna be the funniest strategem ever. They’ll last five seconds on diff 10 but those will be the most democratic five seconds of their lives
They'll probaby last longer than most noobs that just shoot patrol they see.

@@gumikin8706 That's just the leak right now though, they might develop it a little more. Three grunts with one weapons crew might've just been put in the code as rifles and MG's at the time of the leak. Or not, who knows, game development is exciting yes?

According to the new major order, it seems that the purpose of the DSS is to be a weapons platform that allows Helldivers to use DSS weapons on a planet that it orbits. There is gonna be a voting system for which Helldivers would be able to vote where it should go to assist in the liberation of (any) planets. It may have other utilities other than a weapons platform but that remains unconfirmed. Hopefully we can have a clan system that comes with it like you speculated.

That is true but the most reliable leaker has noted that the DSS stratagems are directly tied to the platoon/clan system

Not sure if you saw the dispatch from High Command in the AH Discord - but I don't think there will be platoons for many many MANY months. The DSS just appears to be a voting system to send the station to a particular planet, which will provide some access to strats.
If you look into leakes (Spoilers):
The DSS is titled "Clan station" within all of its facets in the files.

You mentioned "Carpet Bombs"? That just sounds like Cluster Bombs, but on steroids. My squadmates are NEVER letting me use that, but I WILL find a way.
Hopefully, Arrowhead doesn't tie any of this to how many are in a platoon.
They'd have to, otherwise everyone just runs their own platoon and has a destroyer and a spacestation at their command.
@@Razumen maybe that's the point because not everyone wants to clan up, me personally, I've had terrible experiences with similar systems.
@@minty257 thank you. clans are dumb in a PvE game. yea lets give a player power over others and lock things away unless a person joins a clan that they could dump resources into then get kicked for something dumb like not playing bots

Against high difficulty illuminate missions it was legit amazing since one of the objectives was really dofficult without the shredder

lol perhaps that'll be the patch that fixes the friends list. Frankly, I was hoping for the DSS to be a meeting place where you could see hundreds of other players in the open world. I guess my ideas and thoughts are a bit ambitious.

i have no friends that play the game, haven't made any new friends in the community either
i've always just solo queued
when this releases I will want to partake in it
but I don't know how I feel about joining some large platoon like this where i'll have 0 impact on decisions and where I'll never know if the leader's gameplay goals and preferences align with mine

Don't get ahead of yourself, it's all speculation. As far as friends go, that's the hardest thing to come from in this instant-gratification land of the digital. Every game has that problem. People will usually only want to be friends in helldivers when you're fun and good at the game. So do both of those things, be active on voice comms (but not too active) and you'll make friends that will want to add you to steam. Don't be pessimistic about it, there's some cool people still playing the game after all these months. You'll find some.
I hope the upgraded stim is crazy and gives you double movement speed, infinite stamina, maybe no recoil for like 30 seconds. Kind of like Finka was on release in Rainbow 6 Siege.
This reminds me of the old Clan system in SOCOM. Whatever faction your clan was elected to gave you a special weapon and uniform only that faction had. Of course 1 was always better than the rest, in SOCOM Combined Assault the faction with the FAMAS was the most popular. I imagine the 10,000Kg will be the most popular just for coolness factor.
The platoon system would be a needed thing after all the buffs that had revegetated the community. And now we are seeing the DSS being built in a Mirida black hole style. A story beat that we can go and visit to see the progress. And now with the promise these things bring, it makes the newly buffed helldivers that want to use the new tools on something, and a multi mission construction project would be SUCH a great inclusion. And all the possible new stratagems to involve them would be great. My favorite being able to bring in SEAF soldiers. Make this a proper war effort with a squad made bigger as everyone is bringing back the fire to automatons.
I remember joking with friends about if they ever added a clan system, we should use the naming convention from starship troopers and name it the Ed’s Egders after the friends that created our discord server. That time will be soon upon us

I think having platoons will only give the elitists more opportunities to rage quit when somebody isnt playing the way they want then too. Never been a fan of the guild thing.

Theres more bug divers-->DSS gets voted to bug side-->DSS always gives bonuses on bug side-->even more people play bugs-->DSS always gets voted to bug side, and we dont win a bot MO ever again
I suspect the upgrades needed to make it worthwhile will be expensive enough that grinding for them alone would take ages, therefore only making them actually helpful if you use them with an actual clan.
I was really enjoying the games casual nature. Guilds would completely ruin that.
I do hope these net strategems will be available for the casual player. Or this will be a bigger disaster then the sony thing.

Sounds like a bunch of hearsay. Noting of the sort about anything regarding platoons has been mentioned by Arrowhead. Also the missile silo and deployable squad was also just leaks. IT could very well just be scrapped content.
I've been waiting for the M2016 Constitution to come to Helldivers 2 since release.
Maybe we'll get an updated variant.

The buffs from last patch where a bit out if context, the railgun is no where near as absurd in practice as it was in theory and I hope it is something similar here.

Great way to keep divers focused on MO planets. You can only use the spicy rock bomb where the station is, which will usually be on those planets

Tho I am loving the idea of a blast bigger than the range of jammer towers.
With each new leak showing more powerful stratagems the only thought in my mind is that difficulty is about to come back and hit us hard in the face
I think that's the intention. We're in a war, and an arms race. We build bigger and better guns and bombs, the enemy will adapt and advance in return.
Cant wait for more extremely buggy enemies that are immune to their own Bullets/Rockets so that they shoot thru themselves to oneshot us while being silent...
That nuke might be the biggest indirect buff for servo assisted armor ive ever seen
Even if you managed to throw it 100m (which is sort of feasible, with servo and throwing downhill), there is no way you'd make it the other 200 away before it drops (Unless abusing some sort of physics bug, I guess?).
I wonder if it still gets blocked by map geometry, or if it just craters the whole radius?
i absolutely love the npcs drop. ive always waned to see npcs fighting on the maps, or to be called in for reinforcements. i never would have thought that would happen, im so hyped.
i hope they do more with npcs. like missions where you have to help hold an npc bunker or base, or maybe get some for rescuing them on the map, kind of like how the artillery.

I really really really hope the stratagems are not locked to plotoons as I have never really been a big fan of them in any game. and also locking them to just one planet at a time just sucks. If these are locked to platoons my disappointment will know no bounds.

It will be able to move, so that will be irrelevant (they talk about needing to "improve our FTL technology" for the station, in the MO. So the position chosen is more about defensive options than anything.

With the 10K-kg bomb and possible radius of 350m, 1) how big is the diameter of the level 1 map and 2) how big is the diameter of the eradicate mission map? Just asking for a friend. ;)

I feel like the next major update REALLY needs to come with an information overhaul, everything on the helldivers companion app should be in game as much as I like checking it every morning. I think arrowhead doesn't want to make it too metagamey but if you've been here this long you're clearly invested in the ongoing war game
I love the Constitution in HD1 - though mostly because of a bug.
If you're in a multiplayer lobby using the Constitution, it would fire 2 rounds at the same time at the cost of 1. Because it was medium armour piercing, it had crazy alpha on pretty much any target that didn't require AT. One trigger pull and it will kill an illuminate tripod through its shield due to the double hit effect..
And because it was a rounds reload, you could do what you do with the punisher series of shotguns and basically maintain a constant rate of fire.
I doubt the Constitution will keep that quirk, but it will be fun having it regardless
Every voter matters equally in managed democracy, and Helldivers who follow the major orders votes matter the most equally. The DSS voting algorithm will of course take this into account when deciding where to deploy.
Right? (Or can we just cut to the chase and make it always have to be in Bot or Blue space because SEAF high command does not deem its munitions suitable for E-710 farming environments?)
Please vary the SEAF support call-in. God I would really love to see a very slim chance to get a 30-man platoon on one call-in 😂
I just came back from a bug dive. But the MO changed (I guess since you edited this vid) now we have to do work on the bug front. I dived on the bot front before, i'm doing my part in keeping Gaellivare safe from invasion (which is not the case... yet...)
Are you saying that every clan will have it own battle station ? I could see members of a clan spending medal, cred and requisation to build one for their clan (I HAVE to find someone who will found a french clan, I'll do it myself if I don't find anyone), but I guess the very first one will be Super Earth property, but be fully developped from the start to show us what our clan is figthing for. Or something else entirely, anyway I can't wait !
Of course the station will be completed for liberty day, what a gift it would be !
Liberate Imber and Lesath, and keep Mastia. They are the only planets that connect to Gaelivare.

This seems more annoying than anything else. Another System that 95% of the community wont understand and most likely with a lot misinformation like our boosters atm.
I just want more content that is fun to use but instead we are getting less and less content and finally a chance for more content will be locked behind a scuffed system...
Cant wait for it to be severely underpowered on release like the Viper, Flame and Gas Warbound. But hey we got a hotfix that nerfs stuff weird how a hotfix cant buff stuff...
I'm waiting as democratically as possible for the platoon system I've already thought of name and everything I'm going to make the G.O.R.E platoon G.O.R.E being short for guerilla operations recon and elimination, my platoon will focus on guerilla operations on planets like menkent or gacrux basically planets that are notoriously hard to fight on, while also focusing primarily on the automaton front at least until the ilumment show up.

Hear me out. Platoon droping donw on planet 20 people, huge map, many objectives to spread around and then final push to escape. Many GPU will be lost, but that is sacrifice one should be willing to make to witness the carnage.
