@amspider9475 I don't think they pop up till a certain reputation even once you unlock the other vendors that sell parts/accessories, and they are mixed in with all the other muzzle devices.
Considering how early this is in development, that was pretty impressive. Proper scav approach also looks like it gives properly interesting results and some tense moments. What are we, 6-8 years less dev time than Tarkov? Give them time to cook and this could well be pretty special.
Can confirm that playing like a scav is pretty tense. Sadly there are some issues with the trigger for the Hunter Killers to be too easy to trigger. It's so bad in the Mesa map that my raid are now full sprint 6-9 minutes run through because I keep triggering hunter killers after looting 1-2 things. In maps I don't know or intended to explore I end up looting nothing until I can see the extraction and then fill up my bags quick and leave. At the end of the day what you loot barely matters because you can sell everything and buy everything you need or want at the vendors.
@@matx6666 Certain specific objects instantly trigger Hunter Killers if looted, especially some items that are requested by quests. The Weapon Tech that can spawn in the literal first box you'll probably see in the default map is guilty of this and feels ridiculously stupid on your very first raid.
Keep in mind due to attention it got, it went half mainstream. So of course there are people that don't know how to play it. And i understand the frustration in that regard.
@@Verociity dont be suprised by the low-iq masses believing in what they WANT to believe in contrary to whats being literally told and shown to them. 80% of people are simply children with little to no connection to concrete thoughts.
I understand what the devs are going for, but when I do my missions, I get jumped by hunter killers because I picked up a lockbox. And since they are tanky, have machine guns, and home in on you regardless of how far, it makes it really hard to stealth everything. But I’ve already sunk over 12 hours into the game, so I’m not complaining about overall quality.
Not gonna lie and no offense to him but you made this game look a lot more fun than bigfry did. He had me thinking this game was a dud but after watching you play i see theres a certain way to play the game. i like it.
Big fry was just ass and was seething. I've played like 40 raids now and died 3 times maybe, idk if I'm just goated or something but I've figured out how to take control of the situations I guess.
@@bvmgerb6357 you just play the game the way it's made to be played. bigfry was playing it like he had to fight every enemy and then complained about dying.
@@bvmgerb6357It Also helps the AI is pretty bad. You have hella leancy in this game ATM. I can legit run past a group of enemies 5 ft away from me while they are looking at me and get away with like 100 or less damage taken. Running for your life to extract always works.
Besides the obvious of it being EA and needing work, the gameplay loop is super fun. If you play it like tarkov you are gonna have a bad time. The whole water thing doesn't matter nearly as much as people are making it out to be. I have about 31 days of water in 5 hours of playtime. You sell pretty much everything you get too, so if you run out of water and lose your stash items, it's not like it is anything important. You can just buy your custom weapon presets from the vendors as you don't lose your vendor rep, levels, or currency.
0:45 That moment is such a beautiful encapsulation of what the Forever Winter is meant to be. You're hiding from a horde of soldiers, when all of a sudden they seem to perk up, turn towards you, opening fire...only for you to realize they were targeting a drone that was hovering over your head.
Honestly that was a cool moment. Just looking up to see the enemies start firing at your direction and just as you’re about to make your leave out for there you see they were completely aiming at something else. Practically makes every moment a moment that you PRAY they don’t see you.
how can you even compare battlefield to this? makes no sense to me, two completely different games, attracting different audiences. it's like saying: "i really wish animal crossing devs would hear this", what?
@@blubblub346 He didn't compare the gameplay of the two at all, just the fact that BF42 is using specialists instead of grunts which is a fair point. Just how butthurt do you have to be to react to a comment like that? lmao

to me, a successful raid is one where i didn't have to pull the trigger once. we are the futuristic equivalent of medieval peasants scraping the corpses of knights and soldiers for loot. aren't wearing armour, we aren't geared with a fire team, it's just us and our wits to stay alive. it's so much fun, genuinely subverts shooter expectations and i love it! word of advice, unless you see that red thing above their heads, assume they haven't seen you and or don't care if they have. there were a lot of times you either shot someone or ran and hid when you were actually fine to just move on.

I played for 7h straight earlier today and didn't even realize it. I think this is the first game I binged so hard I forgot to eat in well over a decade. Yes, there are flaws, but it's super Early Access, and I'm loving it.
Played 5 hrs in one go yesterday. Gameplay loop is obviously super repetitive. But the encounters being just random enough keep you on your toes which does great for the game. The map and atmosphere is 100% on the spot and JESUS that soundtrack man… it’s just AMAZING!
@@shul5684 OMG the music is so good. The SFX in general are also pretty fantastic. When you first try a new map solo and just look around it's like holy hell how did they create this.
This is exactly what everyone else is not getting about this game. Dont get into prolonged firefights, dont move into combat zones when there actively fighting, lay low if you cant get out, and always look for another rout before shooting a shot. Thank you for showing this game in the light it should be instead of getting a bad rap for not being COD. I wish more people could see this.
Combat zones are your best friend. If they're shooting at each other, they won't even think about shooting you. Just be careful of stray bullets and heavy weapons being used.
People ignore the aspects of *SURVIVAL* but it's not surprising since a chunk of gamers tend to not even be aware of their surroundings, and then complain about the obvious thing they should have ignored. Like take Darktide for example: You still have people to this day running into a Daemonhost, where: -The game gives you visual indication of demonic smoke. -There's audio cues of the possessed talking in tongues. -You have the characters stating that one is near. -If it gets the 1st trigger, you have voicelines of them saying "DON'T DISTURB IT". *person runs in and triggers it for the 2nd time and dies* "Sorry guys I didn't know it was there"
@@ramsaybolton9151For you maybe, but it’s exactly what a lot of people want. This game is an absolute passion project, not COD-Brand “It’s totally an entirely new game this year!” Slop. This is what games should be, and I fear this game is going to fail like so many other amazing games have because content creators and marketing are going to make it out to be something it isn’t, when if you even *look* at what the devs say about the project you’d know it isn’t. At all.
@@gammothguy297 You have to make it fun. It's completely disingenuous to throw out the CoD bullshit. Is resource management fun in most survival game? No it becomes an absolute chore if there isn't the ability to automate it at some point. The gameplay loop of crouch around and loot will get boring fast. If we had more advanced war simulations and movement mechanics perhaps this wouldn't be the case. Right now the game has a cool concept, great art but terrible execution.
This is such a game that I want them to just cook more. I love so much about its idea, style, and direction and think that it'll be a game I love if they refine the systems further. Amazing foundation that needs to cook more and I really do want them to cook it to perfection this is a game I yearn to be good
Sure but keep in mind bud it’s early access and still a work in progress and just refined enough to be playable. The dev in the trailer pretty much made it obvious it’s not finished. Hence forth it’s also $27 usd right now. So I’d say as far as value goes for early access that’s pretyy to darn good for a game like this
I was on my "collect drone parts" and there were two GIANT mechs on my left as I spawned in- same spawn as you here. and a big heli gunship off over the city. everything was chill till I was halfway across when the mechs and the gunship start duking it out. massive kaiju fight for like 5 minutes, cyborgs and drone parts everywhere. there mechs got no anti air and the gunships just peckin g it to death. got my 2 parts and got the heck out, hard pounding. loving this
In my playing I personally feel that this seriously needs shoulder swapping and maybe a way to zoom the camera in and out a little like fallout new Vegas 3rd person as clunky as it is. Finally the camera doesn't collide well with walls and also the ground when I'm look up. Basically the camera needs some work in my opinion. Yes I know you can press alt to zoom but it's next to useless so stop mentioning it.
id love to see them add a dedicated first person option for people like me who want the immersion cause i agree the camera is my main complaint also. pressing "over the shoulder" just feels weird and the reticle make no sense
I love the idea of factions being real world based, having these ''well imma try to stay chill with these guys because they are from MY region'' adds a cool detail to the world. As an european im already in love with the vibe of the Europan units. Even tho their drones get mogged by the eurasian ones ngl
Europa is basically the lightest shade of black of all three. There’s still totalitarian might make right assholes, but they’re fighting a defensive war and they aren’t as guilty of crimes against humanity as the other two fractions. Especially Eurasia (Euruska is slightly better than Eurasia). also, their gear looks cool.
@@NeoCreo1The mech pilot giving the infantry a thumbs up in the trailer and the mechs in general won me over. It's cool being forced into the position of a neutral party though. I'll be running medical supplies to whoever pays the most whenever they add that mission type.
Unironically one of the best strategies in this game is to never stop sprinting and jumping. Enemies might spot you, but you're gone before they can react. Literally just run around the map in a circuit looting everything (when no enemies are nearby) and then extract.
I honestly love that its sort of a playable artbook. That moment when the two T90s show up and and start engaging while the infantry move up behind them
This game is so much more fun after you get a better RIG. The high quality containers are so liberating to a loot goblin like me. From there, the just the addition of the added loot capacity means so much more access to cash, which opens up all sorts of doors.
THIS is how I played this game, not the way BigFry does... You're not a god damn soldier, you sneak around the battlefield and grab what you need for your own survival
dead yet thriving worlds sums up the game. love the interconnected struggle between factions, its like a love child of Kenshi x Stalker. this will fill the time waiting for Stalker 2. and another W for indie games. thanks for coverage Ramen 🍜!
The moment the faction units start engaging each other, you can pretty much safely run away and reposition yourself. They would only switch back to deeming your a threat (if you were already one before that) once everything else have same or higher threat level are dead. Also yes, it is possible to run straight in between them without getting shot at, but you would still catch a stray, still cool though. Think yourself as threat level 0.5, and everything else is a +1 as they get bulkier/bigger/higher and you can get an estimate of what threat level those units might be to each other.
@15:20 you see the drone explode and yeet off the top of your screen for like 2 frames. haha. Great to see this gameplay, this seems like exactly what I was expecting from what the devs have said, and is the type of extraction gameplay I want to experience.
Game Dev : "Hey! MASSIVE heads up, Multiple times, This is NOT an action shooter bang bang game. DO NOT play like its Helldivers!" Most Gamers ive seen play this : "Uuuuughhhh this is such bullshit, I cant kill anything without getting ganked and I dont understand what all this crap im picking up is forrrrr!!" Thank you, For understanding what youre getting into, this looks FANTASTIC
Timed exfils most cursed things about this game. Much worse than water degrading offline. I understand if it was alternative point of exit, but it only exit
Reminds me of stalker anomaly the mod. You are not the main character you just exist in the zone. The zone will continue to live with or without you. A life is really something in that one.
I hope for later versions down the line they can improve the firing VFX. Rn a mechs cannon and a soldiers gun both fire big orange blobs, they feel the same and dont look like bullets. But im sure they can improve that, seeing as how the maps already look very pretty and this is early access
It’s good to see this game is not as hard as it had seemed. Not that it’s easy but… I’ve watched several TH-camrs play this only to lose 90% of the time.
@Tilman.G I’ve also played it as intended. The AI is extremely janky and in later levels hunter killers spawn which immediately start tracking you and know where you’re at at all times. Essentially removing the whole, don’t shoot aspect. They’re also extremely tanky and alert other factions to your presence who also open up on you. He only showcases the first level which is hilarious.
tactical camera makes it ez and it needs to be nerfed ngl. Once u get the basics of the game start using tac cams and extract 9/10 raids with 50k min each
Unironically sneaking about i found to of been the worse way to play it in it's current state. If you sneak, you become too long in raid and more enemies show up or worse hunter killers start chasing you down. You're sneaking about avoiding confrontation while watching two groups battle it out so you can take the scraps? Here's an entire group of enemies spawning behind you. I've literally just run and gunned every raid and survived. The AI either fights, or has the worst path finding i've seen to just not keep up with you. That whole phrase "you're not that guy" is such a gimmick at this point. Run and gun like Doom Guy and you will get loot and quests done easily. Let the game cook for a couple months up to a year to remotely be close to how they portrayed it in the trailers. Worst decision ever listening to the community demanding it to be released into early access with just one public playtest with a limited amount of spots. I really want to like the game, but it's got so much work to do that even after multiple fixes, patches and upgraded/added content. I can see the core gameplay loop getting real stale real fast unless big changes are added. Epic Game installation stuff again which is not mentioned anywhere, that's another gripe with most players negative reviews along with the micromanaging water system of irl real-time days of water. (I know that's being worked on.) I purposely got 30+ days in mine because that's most likely the amount of time i'm already taking a break from it. The AI is darn right pathetic. If they lock onto you, they hunt you down to the ends of the earth no matter where you are, how long you've cut off site. They spawn on top of you, in front of you, beside you, behind you, under you, above you. It's just borderline broken and a massive immersion breaker. Don't kid yourself there is exploration like shown in the trailers. It's the same as tarkov, very clear only one way paths, invisible walls, you have to push through the ai to get to extract or to do anything. There is far more less exploration. The AI makes Tarkovs scavs look like they are blind, it's ridiculous. They literally hunt you down and you might as well just alt f4 if it's that robot cyborg dog/lion thing. The game feels and looks amazing, atmosphere is spot on. But when you see the absolute daft stuff with ai and their spawns, you're quickly taken out. I had two tanks spawn directly in front of me supported by infantry.... INSIDE OF A BUILDING. Enemies from a far are literally 2d sprites mimicking movement. Disappointing to say the least. Those trailers although was promising, you would of thought they would of optimised it more and have multiplayer operational at launch. I wish steam had a mixed review option other than negative or positive. Atmosphere wise, amazing. But this should of stayed in the oven a lot longer before release with a lot more beta/playtests from the public. I'm around 85% disappointed. I've heard of early access but this is just ain't it. They never should of listened to the community asking for it to release early. Main thing going for it is the aesthetic & atmosphere. A lot of work needed across the board in every single aspect. A lot of bugs i just haven't even mentioned. Certain guns not collecting xp, deleting gun loadouts crashes the game, movement and camera work is abysmal, very stupid mechanics of when either being in raid too long or picking up certain items you are automatically locked on by unbeatable enemies that will chase you down until you extract. Like i said. It has potential. But they never should of listened to the community demanding for an early access.
I hope they have some sort of varying difficulty system, I had the same problem when you really get to know how the AI works you can exploit the hell out of it.
I disagree that early access was a bad idea. People are enjoying the game and players like you are able to give detailed feedback that you wouldn’t have had without access to the game.
Probably not. Divers aren’t carrying multiple tens of kilograms of loot in a giant ass awkward backpack on their backs. Every Hell diver “is the guy”. They’re actual soldiers not just random people like the scavs.
@@JVCA44 Certainly not to the degree of like doing dives all over the place, but there is absolutely some movement that feels very awkward and not very good, like you can only sprint forward, meaning that you can only change direction by using the mouse when sprinting, which feels pretty bad imo. If they were to make the movement feel a little more fluid and less clunky (not that it should have 0 clunk, i just want to feel a little better to actually play), and fix the player controller's interactions with world geometry that very frequently lead to the player getting stuck on very very small objects and not being able to run away as a result (this has resulted in my death a great many times so far), and then just make it more performant, it'll great.
I broke the game and found out that you can make your loadout and stuff tons of ammo in it then go back to the menu and do the practice mission and get tons of weapon XP on the infinite spawning weak crawling cyborgs and 1 runner... then if you bring a silenced weapon you can lose agg and loot tonnes of intel stuff for easy cash and XP... got my heavy weapons guy to prestige 4 and you get a free water every time you turn the quest in after... I had 20 water and unlocked all the vendors at rank 3 before I even did the 2nd area... It's broken.
Ohhh an exploit. They'll probably catch that soon or eventually, water ain't too difficult to get so long as you aren't fixated on every big object you see.
@@Zal-TheBug I mean I don't really worry about that seeing as I can now carry 8 large items and one large container... So now i can grab all the water, explosives, and locked boxes I see as I run the levels... Because you can't actually stay and loot. This video is a false representation of the standard experience and is cherry picked to hell to make the game look as good as possible.
This game has "you are not that guy" energy but COD and Battlefield has conditioned most players to want to have "I am that guy" mindset. I like how this game is encouraging the former by discouraging combat rather than restricting.
It's too bad the devs thought that making your in-game water (which you need for progression and survival) run out based on real time (whether you are playing or not). That single mechanic is enough for me to not even consider the game. These devs have got to be stupid if they think I want to add more anxiety to my daily life through this game.
I think they want people to log in to keep their base in shape; you can store quite a lot of water (55 days worth without improvements) but it's an odd mechanic. I would rather we had to trade water to open up the stations than have "your water level must be this high for station X to unlock" that we are using. Maybe it's a way to get people to play more during the beta?
Devs have already stated that they're going to change the real-time water mechanic. I would expect this to be one of the first major reworks they implement
@z3bra_f0untain36 I don't necessarily mind the water mechanic as a way to gate the unlocks of the base, but the offline decay is punishing especially for people who just poke their head in. I'd say give options to make the offline decay much less of a problem (decay reducing the less water you have?) and let people keep what's in their hands and rig.
@@z3bra_f0untain36 God I hope so because the rest of the game genuinely looks great. I get that they are experimenting and may have thought that real time water decay was a good idea in that it gets players more invested, but it just seems like the kind of thing that makes much of the game's content exclusive to those with a lot of time on their hands.
I've been playing this and I have to say, this is genuinely the only game that get's me immersed enough that I stressing, I honestly feel my pulse rate go up at times. For a more stressful time, go in with nothing but the starter rifle and shotgun and nothing in your inventory (as in no ammo or anything). The nice thing about doing it this way is if you kick the bucket, you haven't actually lost anything :p
your video honestly shows how this game can shine, it really shows the huge potential it has and I will most definitely buy this game once it gets better with development
I have really been enjoying this game so far. The character controller is a little wonk and "sticky". That is my big hold back on diving in more. I feel like a get stuck on to many things and movement is not very clean...
I think some of that is definitely been with the amount of high-movement shooters on the market. However, you are also absolutely right. Some of the terrain has "hitches" in them, where your character cannot walk up or around the protrusion and stops all momentum seemingly at random. Or the occasional area that feels like an invisible wall, but only cause a jank hit box is shin-high. Luckily playing slow is when you don't notice it, but then that makes the fast gameplay artificially "trickier".
my only suggestion is play more with "momentum" and less precision. they have a great deal of optimization to do on clipping. but using inertia seems to help alot.
Great video by the way dude. This might be used to sway my gaming group into picking this up sooner than later, which I was not inclined to do. Good stuff Ramen!
They will fix that at some point. They should spawn at a certain distance from the player. What I dislike is watching them spawn right in front of you. I don’t mind if they spawn near me but out of my sight. It just adds to the tension of constantly having to look every which way to make sure you are not dying.
im actually having a blast with this game, after the first update came out right after launch ive been able to squad up with people and it makes it much less nerve racking but i love the nervous feeling the game puts you in as you always think how your gonna manuver where you needa go and when a unbeatable enemy approaches, the ai and ai pathing an spawing needs some tweaks here and there but this worldbuilding already has me so cemented into this game for sure
There's a bug I had same problem exit out and come back in a few times the Fullscreen option should pop up..mine would only show borderless and windowed and max 1440p I was like wtf so I exit out and come back in and Fullscreen was there .
The ought to develop two AI systems that control each faction at war, every start of a mission gives each AI an army to use, platoons, tanks, mechs, etc. Both AI's objective is to defeat the other AI, and both AI have tactical trees. That combined with improved pathing and deformable terrain so giant mechs can create their own pathing. ( Like breaking through trenches and some buildings ) That would bring life to this game, provided it is also ultra difficult. One or two shots and you could be dead. Instead of mission/ map systems, each map is a permanent place on the world always being fought over by the AI, it would be great to see the military units break down structures, blow holes and new crates, But also set up their own structures. The topology of the world has to be dynamic. Static, unbreakable structures will do the game no favour when it wants to show dead mechs and cyborg.
@@declanjones8888 There is a new game called Delta Force, there is AI bots who mimic players highly accurate not just by moving and acting in combat normally, but also able to do stuff as quick picking, running and jumping to not get shot while crossing opens etc
the balance isn't too great after a few raids and using decent ammo we go in as a 4 man and we are a 4 man army, "hunter killers" just means more loot. losing that scavenger in a war feeling. Can't wait to see how this game evolves. Hopefully the stupid review bombs about game mechanics doesn't deter their vision for the game.

WARNING: This game has a persistent water depletion system where if your base goes down to 0 water you lose EVERYTHING. You lose water even while not playing the game so it is essentially forcing you to play regularly. The devs have already stated that they are firm on this mechanic being core to the game.
Yeah, but it takes a full day to bring your water level down by 1. Completing a mission gets you water as a reward in 1s and 2s and you can scavenge for more in each raid. And the cap is at 80. So barring some tragedy that keeps you away for 3 months, your risks of losing everything isn't that high.

@@rabbidowl1235 to be fair, you just compared forever winter with a story heavy game based on dialogue. if your bg3 save disappears that is hours of story and dialogue you have to sit through again, but if the water in forever winter runs out and you loose almost everything, then you are still just repeating the same game loop you did before. its a game where you enter a battlefield, scavenge and repeat and if you have to start from the beginning, you will still enter a battlefield, scavenge and repeat, so i do understand, that some people, including the devs apparently, are fine with it
@@derdox6720 Basically this. It's an extraction shooter. You're going to lose things. You're going to lose anything you take with you if you're killed. DUDE, that ending was tense as hell! Mechanized units from two factions in close quarters (one of which you've been scrapping parts from, and it's probably aware of this) AND feral/zombie guys threatening to flush you out of your little nook? That was down to the wire!
*For a STEALTH game it really needs a dive, go prone and crawl* Hiding behind a rock doesn't work because the huge ass scav backpack sticks out 2 foot above it haha
Random Europen soldier; "Sir, did you see that?" The Sergeant; _Clearly staring at a giant backpack sticking out._ 'No, nothing at all, stand down lad.' The Scav mostly hiding behind a rock, actually panting from carrying this huge contraption around, knees aching; 'I wish I could just lay down... but I'd never get up again.' In all seriousness, imagine going prone with that thing weighing you down, crawling with a fridge on your back, or trying to dive with that weight and mass _loudly_ banging about as you try to stealthily leap out of sight and sound, it feels as clunky as it looks, the closest we have is a short dash left or right.
Ive watched 4 or 5 other streamers/game review people play this game, and every single one was them complaining they couldnt do anything at all. Watching you play this way actually looks fun to me. First giy I've seen try to play it honestly and give a fair outcome.
Just because all these streamers are playing the game “correctly” still doesn’t fix the jank ass mechanics …until that gets fixed this game is hard pass for me
They could implement a threat or wanted system similar to GTA, where different levels escalate NPC reactions. At 1 star, NPCs avoid you unless you attack them. At 2 stars, they’ll shoot if they see you, but won’t chase. With 3 stars, they actively pursue and engage. At 4 stars, if one enemy spots you, everything nearby will converge to take you down-you're pretty much screwed at this point. And at 5 stars, being seen means certain death as the entire map unites to hunt you down and obliterate you.
I find the milling aboutt in a somewhat small area on first extract to be really common and really endearing. Like when you put a really shy kitten into a new pen
I'm planning to make a video playing Forever Winter in a way that goes beyond what Fun Dog originally intended. The endgame gear gets wild, and the cyberpsychosis has definitely taken hold.
Thank you, somebody that shows the world that this game can be fun. I bought it at release and i'm having a blast as solo scav. People always forget the meaning of early acess and overall alot of people don't know that the community pushed fun dog to release it earlier than intended. 🎉
You are more like... A espectator/opportunist by circumstance and survivor and thats a pretty cool approach and refreshing! Yo! Very nice video mostly everyone trash talks about it but you showed that treating the world as if you are a vulnerable human rather than a super soldier will grant you a bigger chance of survival . Since the other video guys i saw playing it all tried to go up against everything and got trashed left and right. Some couldn't even manage to get loot and had a lot of complaints although i did agree with pretty much all of them lol. And you still managed so that's really impressive you showed the best qualities of it and that's dope ill definitely give it a try now.
I'm enjoying the game so far. I'm super passive during each session, looting when it's safe, and extracting. And yes only time I fire my weapon is when I can't shake off the aggro. Good game and massive potential. This game is punishing but rewarding at the same time.
In one of my runs, I was caught in the middle of a firefight between a giant Europa mech vs Eurasian forces including their hinds. I was taking cover by a nearby bunker when the mech stomped its way next to me while blasting away. Had to run between its legs then across the field while stray bullets were whizzing past my head.
I like that human enemies can notice you and go "meh" if you're not causing them trouble or getting too close, but the borgs act like a zombie horde, and the drones consider a scav the lowest priority, but if they've got nothing better to do they'll stay locked onto you forever. I'm nowhere near having encountered all the enemy types yet, so I'm wondering what else I'll have to learn about the opposition's behavior if I'm going to stay alive. I'll also be eternally grateful to Rozkil's early game guide teaching me to stock up on suppressors and ditch the surplus rifle the instant I have a gun that can be silenced.
I died in the tutorial for this game lol, but it was only cause I fell into an abyss from panicking from enemies spawning and rushing me. But it took me 3 tries on a raid to actually make it out safely with some loot. Now I'm on the second objective raid where I need to extract water and I keep dying from unfortunate events lol. I love this game even if it's really hard.
I’ve been watching this game for about a year now, and my first thoughts were how the general audience; the ones that haven’t been following the game. Will probably misinterpret the game entirely, and play it as a normal shooter. This had me worried that once it released, or hit early access that it wouldn’t land with most people. Sadly I think that really is the case. But at least there are creators like you, sharing how the game is intended to be played, allowing some of the masses understand it better. Because the game is genius, and deserves all the recognition and attention from the community.
The thing is that this game knows how players like to think and uses it against them. Players that already try to avoid PvP will feel right at home hear
they should do missions where you drop stuff off without extracting, at like a hidden box, for someone else to pick up, which generates a community mission. if they can successfully recover it, you get your stuff, they get paid. they should also place trap in loot to look out for, like tracker that increase aggro, and timed mines.
Buy silencers people.. they are cheap in game You get them right away and it keeps from drawing every enemy in the area.. absolute game changer
I noticed that, good to know 👍
Getting money at least in this game is easy
Yep, makes the game so much easier if you ever do have to fight your way out of a situation.
I might be dumb but, wait, you can buy suppressors?
I’ve been doing all my missions without suppressors lol rip.

Boring
Not gonna lie and no offense to him but you made this game look a lot more fun than bigfry did. He had me thinking this game was a dud but after watching you play i see theres a certain way to play the game. i like it.
Big fry was just ass and was seething. I've played like 40 raids now and died 3 times maybe, idk if I'm just goated or something but I've figured out how to take control of the situations I guess.
@@bvmgerb6357 you just play the game the way it's made to be played. bigfry was playing it like he had to fight every enemy and then complained about dying.
I like Bigfry but he plays it as if it's another tarkov clone. He forgot he's just a civie in a war between murder mechs and Cyborg psychos.

Honestly that was a cool moment. Just looking up to see the enemies start firing at your direction and just as you’re about to make your leave out for there you see they were completely aiming at something else. Practically makes every moment a moment that you PRAY they don’t see you.

Like take Darktide for example: You still have people to this day running into a Daemonhost, where:
-The game gives you visual indication of demonic smoke.
-There's audio cues of the possessed talking in tongues.
-You have the characters stating that one is near.
-If it gets the 1st trigger, you have voicelines of them saying "DON'T DISTURB IT".

Europa is basically the lightest shade of black of all three. There’s still totalitarian might make right assholes, but they’re fighting a defensive war and they aren’t as guilty of crimes against humanity as the other two fractions. Especially Eurasia (Euruska is slightly better than Eurasia).

Well put and a very reasonable and rational perspective on the game in its current state.
Thanks for the honest review!
I hope they have some sort of varying difficulty system, I had the same problem when you really get to know how the AI works you can exploit the hell out of it.

I like the game, but I don't like how the game will sometimes spawn guys next to you and they instantly start shooting you
They will fix that at some point.
Hum I have a 4k monitor but the game stays in 1440p and its impossible to change the setting anyone have a fix ?
Swap the game to full-screen, set your resolution to 4k, then swap back to borderless if that's your jam. Had the same problem.
This game needs delta force power of AI
Don't know what that is but it sounds pretty neat.
@@declanjones8888 There is a new game called Delta Force, there is AI bots who mimic players highly accurate not just by moving and acting in combat normally, but also able to do stuff as quick picking, running and jumping to not get shot while crossing opens etc
As long as it's predictable.
@@oldlifeorig5028 oh that why i thought some player looked like AI
@@THExRISER haha agree
A good view into the way the game looks when it works and is played as intended, very nice!
the balance isn't too great after a few raids and using decent ammo we go in as a 4 man and we are a 4 man army, "hunter killers" just means more loot. losing that scavenger in a war feeling. Can't wait to see how this game evolves. Hopefully the stupid review bombs about game mechanics doesn't deter their vision for the game.
That was the most intense non-shootout I've ever seen in a game. Outstanding!
Game seemed neat but i felt like controlling my character felt awful... Not sure how to explain it.
Not refunding or anything though, i need my itch for pve extraction shooters
Yeah it's VERY clunky & the ARK jump.. goddamn..
You can't strafe while sprinting
This made me want to play the game!! I tried it solo after it dropped, and i didn't really understand how you're supposed to play the game, but now this is a whole mew perspective on it and i cant wait to jump in!
@@Lightscribe225 What if I'm just not interested in playing for a few months? Its been like 6 months since I touched baulders gate, might take me a year to get back to it, but if the game deleted my save I'd be pretty pissed off. It makes playing a chore rather than something done for entertainment
You might even lose everything if you have an unlucky streak. And I had a pretty bad streak already. I still recovered. Whether I lose all I have in raids gone bad or I just had no time to restock water, I'll get knocked back down, but it doesn't take away my ability to get back up and try again.
Finally somebody actually playing the game as intended. In my time I won't deny that there's some jank that can make the game unfair sometimes, but a lot of youtubers I've watched are just straight up playing the game like an average extraction action game.
This game looks alright, but nothing spectacular yet. Looking forward to seeing the finished product a few years later though.
Not "a couple years", 2 tops.
@@walterroche8192 2 is a couple 🤔
@@walterroche8192"couple" literally means two. Brainrot is supposed to be a funny meme. Not real
You sir are amazing for doing as the game intended. With a gripping scav survival to show.
WHY DID THEY RELEASE THE GAME ON STEAM SO EARLY. ITS TANKING IN REVIEWS AND IS GONNA BURN OUT BEFORE WE EVEN HIT BETA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
"We only Released this early due to community desire" - Copout excuse from Fun Dog.
You pc gamers have the attention span of a goldfish
@@pervysage4531 If it wasn't for PC games, something indie and early access like this wouldn't even exist, genius.
But this is not even half-baked. Its extremely janky and now everyone's first impressions are gonna be "This...sucks." The sound design is terrible. Animations janky. Weapons are GARBAGE. Don't give me the cope that you're not meant to shoot the guns, I have heard better gunshots and seen better models on PS2 games.
Character designs are poopoo. Why does everyone look like Big Chungus if the world is in eternal war and just doing a grocery trip is like 10% survival rate.
This game will die in development. They pushed it out completely unfinished. Once the novelty wears off it will go into the huge pile of "Great concept survival games that never delivered".
The fact they are pushing it out this early and asking a price of a finished game...I don't think they believe in it either.
@@Dorf274 pc games are awesome. The gamers on the other hand have the attention span of a goldfish.
DUDE, that ending was tense as hell! Mechanized units from two factions in close quarters (one of which you've been scrapping parts from, and it's probably aware of this) AND feral/zombie guys threatening to flush you out of your little nook? That was down to the wire!
*For a STEALTH game it really needs a dive, go prone and crawl*
Hiding behind a rock doesn't work because the huge ass scav backpack sticks out 2 foot above it haha
Random Europen soldier; "Sir, did you see that?"
The Sergeant; _Clearly staring at a giant backpack sticking out._ 'No, nothing at all, stand down lad.'
The Scav mostly hiding behind a rock, actually panting from carrying this huge contraption around, knees aching; 'I wish I could just lay down... but I'd never get up again.'
In all seriousness, imagine going prone with that thing weighing you down, crawling with a fridge on your back, or trying to dive with that weight and mass _loudly_ banging about as you try to stealthily leap out of sight and sound, it feels as clunky as it looks, the closest we have is a short dash left or right.
Ive watched 4 or 5 other streamers/game review people play this game, and every single one was them complaining they couldnt do anything at all.
Watching you play this way actually looks fun to me. First giy I've seen try to play it honestly and give a fair outcome.
Just because all these streamers are playing the game “correctly” still doesn’t fix the jank ass mechanics …until that gets fixed this game is hard pass for me
enjoy minecraft!
That's not a hard pass, it's just a pass.

That last extraction even had my anxiety hitting the roof, well done man and great gameplay
today I learned: when "make Love not War" fails, we are left with "fight each other, not me"
This Gives me a "Gone with the Blastwave" feel. I loved that comic!
I can't tell you how happy I am that you are playing this game.
It's right up your game play style and I'm here for it.
I loved how the bullets ricocheted from hitting the back of your gear. That thing actually acts like an armor plate if you're lucky enough
I am loving this game so much.
Sometimes if oneof the unit is not currently engaged and if they see you, they'll go after you.
Thank god, someone plays the game the way we were actually hype to play it
You’ve made this game look way more fun than others who don’t understand the anti shooter thing.
Thank you, somebody that shows the world that this game can be fun. I bought it at release and i'm having a blast as solo scav. People always forget the meaning of early acess and overall alot of people don't know that the community pushed fun dog to release it earlier than intended. 🎉
*waves hand* "These are not the drones your looking for"
The one man I wanted to play this game is already doing it. Hell yeah
That’s a really good point about the free look. It would be benificial to have in game like this.
Proximity mic's will make this the greatest game ever. . .
You are more like... A espectator/opportunist by circumstance and survivor and thats a pretty cool approach and refreshing! Yo! Very nice video mostly everyone trash talks about it but you showed that treating the world as if you are a vulnerable human rather than a super soldier will grant you a bigger chance of survival
"Playing the way the devs intended"
*Instantly* lights up blasting at a drone he's totally safe from if he turns a corner 3 minutes in.
I want this game to be good because the art style is so amazing. This gameplay made it look like this could have potential.
13:42 Okay the sniping in this game sound very cool and satisfying, and that wasn't even a sniper rifle
"We have to Whap" made me chuckle more than it should have ^^
I’ve been watching this game for about a year now, and my first thoughts were how the general audience; the ones that haven’t been following the game.
THIS is how you play the game! Why are so many people having a hard time understanding this!? Great video!
they should do missions where you drop stuff off without extracting, at like a hidden box, for someone else to pick up, which generates a community mission. if they can successfully recover it, you get your stuff, they get paid.
they should also place trap in loot to look out for, like tracker that increase aggro, and timed mines.
