      I agree with Pete smith. It’s more of the feeling of shifting just makes the car so much more fun to drive. And like he said you get the ls3 with the stick rather than the l99

    Where’d you purchase the gears from? I may just buy a 1LE rear end once I have the funds. Very wary where I buy them from though personally.

      I definitely thought the same about just buying the rear end to save me the trouble but I just didn’t have money for it and couldn’t find one. And I wanna say I got it from tick performance. I got the GM Performance Gears

    • @thenextgear2012

    • @thenextgear2012
      @thenextgear2012  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup I was torn between the two. I’ve heard good and bad things about both but I plan on trying to boost this car in the future and I figured 4.11s would be overkill when I do boost it. And I didn’t really wanna go into the diff again to change the gears again if that’s the case

      @@thenextgear2012 one thing I've noticed in the 5th gen community is everyone focuses on the rwhp of the car and not the set up. The 5th is a heavy car. What gets something heavy moving= Torque. What multiplies torque= lower gears. I have a full bolt on L99, with 3.91s, no cam (it's coming) and I walk fbo (non E85) 6 speed manual, Gen 1 coyotes. I've ran close with a bone stock 10 speed 5.0 too. But yeah those 3.27s and 3.45s are ass without any boost. Anybody who has a 5th gen, should definitely swap gears.

    • @thenextgear2012
      @thenextgear2012  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactlyyyyy. I’ve never ever been focused on gear setup because I’ve always grew around to think oh more power = faster so that’s how I’ve always done things was power based with my other camaro I had. But like you said getting this 5th gen like it is just heavy compared to the 6th gen I had. And I never thought about gears until my buddy walked me with a 5.0 with headers and 4.10 gears. Like it just blew my mind. I 100% agree with you. Stock gearing is trash in these cars.
