What a song! 🎶🔥
Who listening to this fantastic music in 2024??😎😍😙😉👍👍❤❤❤❤
I'm listening with my ears, but watching him master every note with velvet precision, pouring his soul out in the mic, made me melt into a puddle on my kitchen floor!!🤣🤣 Seriously though, THAT is the definition of a HOT, 100% M.A.N.🔥🔥🔥🔥 I sure miss his performances!
One of the most underrated bands ever ❤
When I was still young, and I love this group and still do even though they people have changed. Very great memories and sand too but great with this band and their many songs. I still have their album or cassette or CD or whatever it is these days,I’m old. Excuse me.
I'm from Philippines, 22 but i really love this song ❤️
@simonfrom Arnel.Pineda cover thats why Im herecaldo9414
Everyone who reads this, we don't know each other and probably never will but I wish you all the best in life and all the luck in the world
Ritchie Blackmore (Deep Purple/Rainbow): "I had seen Jimi in Survivor and was very impressed. I remember going down to Tennessee to meet him and I really liked him as a person. He then came up to try out with Deep Purple. We did one song, I think it was 'Going Down' and he was so good I immediately stopped playing and just said, 'You're in!' He said, 'Don't you want to do more songs?' I said, 'No, you are so damn good, I know that you are perfect for the job.' We went out and celebrated at a restaurant. I was full of ideas due to his melodic, soulful voice, and he could improvise much better than a lot of singers I knew so he had every aspect I was looking for in a singer. Very, very nice guy. Very humble. Unfortunately, two weeks later, we were told he couldn't join the band. We never found out why. I think it had something to do with the management. I was surprised and saddened by what happened, and it was a mystery to me what had gone down. It was a bad moment for me. I rated him as one of the top singers in the country."
Thank you for sharing this. I love hearing this. Jimi has the best voice ever and it’s great to hear a legendary band respected this humble man which he never got from Frankie Sullivan of Survivor. Have you gotten a chance to see Firefest 2010 on TH-cam with Jimi members of H E A T and Tommy Denander the legend. They this was the best concert in FireFest history. Thanks again for showing him kindness and respect I am sure it meant everything to him
Jimmy Jamison and Steve Perry, I thank God for their existence. Two phenomenal human beings

I do agree Steve Perry Jimmie jimerson two legends can't get performance like that again

The best of the best. Jami jamison and survivor. Who are 80s borns here..... Nice listening our music.... Timeless 'search is over'
How can I convince you
What you see is real?
Who am I to blame you
For doubting what you feel?
I was always reachin'
You were just a girl I knew
I took for granted
The friend I had in you
I was living for a dream
Loving for a moment
Taking on the world
That was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever
The search is over
You were with me all the while
Can we last forever?
Will we fall apart?
At times, it's so confusing
The questions of the heart
You followed me through changes
And patiently you'd wait
'Til I came to my senses
Through some miracle of fate
I was living for a dream
Loving for a moment
Taking on the world
That was just my style
Now I look into your eyes
I can see forever
The search is over
You were with me all the while
Now the miles stretch out behind me
Loves that I have lost
Broken hearts lie, victims of the game
Then good luck, it finally struck
Like lighting from the blue
Every highway's leading me back to you
Now at last, I hold you
Now all is said and done
The search has come full circle
Our destinies are one
So if you ever loved me
Show me that you give a damn
You'll know for certain
The man I really am
I was living for a dream
Loving for a moment
Taking on the world
That was just my style
Then I touched your hand
I could hear you whisper
The search is over
Love was right before my eyes
Steve Perry, Lou Gramm and Jimi Jamison are the voices of arena rock in the 80's.
Def. Lou Gramm so smooth and effortless. Steve Perry took you on a journey. Jimi the power the passion. All of the above life love heart break and thro music we're all back together again. Man I wish I was older in the 80s
Johnny Storm I agree with you 100/ percent.
I was sleepy when I heard this song and I'm always inlove.
You can add denis deyoung from styx.. he sings live effortlessly
Journey's Stever Perry, Survivor's Jimi Jamison and Queen's Freddie definetely are the Voices of Rock Arena in the 80's the 90 's the 00's and time goes on and on and on and on..................
His voice is purely magical. Really makes me feel things. 😭 Jimi truly deserved to be in the hall of fame for his gorgeous vocals!! ❤️

Hard to believe this was 34 years ago, seems like only yesterday.
I agree
I am a Survivor fan for life . Jimmy has a phenominal voice . Now a days , seldom to hear someone who sings the survivor hits .
They were at Epcot a few years ago with a young guy singing, who has a stunning voice, this song was belted out all over Epcot and everyone was singing along at the food and wine festival it was amazing
Jimi fit with survivor like a glove. One of the best singers ever. Rip jimi
2020 anyone listening while quarantine.
I'm listening, but in my country didn't quarantine. Are you ok in your country now ?
Still listening. Still facing the pandemic. It helps.

👏👏👏🎸🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶💯💯💯
Yeah bro legend of all legends
I love you Jimi i really miss you. You are still the best. Rest In Peace.
Absolute Perfection, does not get better than this. What an incredible voice!!! We miss you Jimi!!
One of the best pop rock vocalist !!!
Jimi sings with every part of his body. I remember from an interview that he liked singing on stage better than in the studio. He said his fans fueled his fire.
Jimi had an exquisite voice, his survivor colleagues have said it in many interviews, even Jim Peterik said in an interview that when they were recording the song someone I don't remember who came out crying, and he said that is the effect that Jimi causes with his voice Jimi makes us feel every song he sings!❤
When you talk to singers, they will tell you Jimi is one of the all time best. Many aspire, few are in his league. RIP Jimi...the "R" is for Rock.
My ex used to sing this to me while we would dance in our home.. Today was his funeral. /ten years we had.. I didn't realize how much I still loved you.
one of the best male vocalist
Male or Female vocalist he is the best
The songs from the past are more meaningful than todays songs
Can anyone tell me why having talent isn't popular anymore...
Fly high Jimi, you angel ❤
Not a single filipino born in the 80’s doesn’t know this song or Survivor.
The best thing about Survivor is that when they perform live, their songs sound the recording. Too many bands "modify" their live productions and they do not sound nearly as good as you are used to hearing them
then dont listen some of the bands idiot!
@Hito Suavecito Yes this is not the original audio from this show . They have dubbed in a different vocal performance over the footage . I am wondering if it's perhaps a demo even
It's even better than the studio version
True!
Jimi own this song...No one can mimic his voice
Memorias
R u sure about that
Ang sarap mo hehe
amen to that, he is the greatest singer in rock history.
You don't notice the Steve Perry similarities?
I grew up in the 80’s and would give anything to go back! What has happened to our music?!?
Very few artist can nail song. Jimmy’s vocal was both powerful and captivating, the likes which is so rare to find. ❤️
Look for Arnel pineda’s version of this song. I think it was beautifully done.

Have you heard of a man named Steve Perry? 😂
@@anthonybrown4628I think Jamison was every bit as good live as Perry was...if not better. And I'm a huge Journey fan
This band is so underrated...
Way back when, when people could actually sing. He was just as great live as his recordings.
No autotunes. He's just so adorable. Btw, thanks for this live mv🤩
1 year short of being 40yrs. And this song STILL touches my soul. Jimi wasn't just a heartthrob, he amazing. Although i get teary eyes thinking of his death, im comforted know hes in heaven adding his beaful oice to the angels, praising God. The Bibles book of Revelation has come to life. The rapture is very, VERY soon. I know it wont be long that i will meet Jesus first, then i will be searching for Jimi! I dont think it will be hard to find him though. His voice will rise above them all!
Wish this was not 30 plus years ago. No talent or artists nowadays. This was real music real talent real voice without any computers fixing anything.
More than 35 years since this song came out, and every time I hear him sing it, it chokes me up. Without this video of this concert in Japan, and a few videos survivor made, there would be no way to see how beautiful this band is while they are singing and playing. I do not like the commercial videos with all the scenery and the BS characters they put in them. This is great but I can’t find it anywhere online to purchase it.
First time hearing him singing this live after all these years, amazing voice !!
Me 2
me three...
I couldn't believe his voice is actually true
This song is truly timeless and a vocal masterpiece.
Hermosa melodía en la voZ del gran jimy jamison. Esta cancion me da nostalgia
It's true. It's a masterpiece. C'est un vrai chef d'oeuvre.
This was the most gorgeous man ever. I never have seen anyone as good looking as he was on the stage that night. And the best natural voice ever.
Indeed!❤
Im totaly agree!
Not to mention a super decent person..glad I was able to meet him!
the best and the greatest vocall voice of our lifetime
He's singing with all his being both spiritual ang physical. That made his voice so mighty and powerful. It is evident in all his body gestures.
That's pure Talent. Rest in peace "Rockstar"... 👏👏👏
wish we;re stuck in the *80s and never moved on,,,,,,,
agree
agree 80's songs are best
tell me about it.
Rasta Rigo, I realized that l am stuck "80s" and early "90s". The best times of my life!
Eduman1979 yes! The 80's were the best! A pet peeve of mine is when a band famous for recording a great song like this does it in concert, but they do the song in a lower key. Survivor did that here on youtube with this great song. I know Jimi's voice had changed over the years. He was in his 50's when he did the song live, and nobody can blame him for it. It is just part of life that our vocal chords don't reach those high notes anymore. Still, it drives me nuts when the song is sang/played in a different key. Just do a youtube search for this song, and Survivor with Jimi did it, and Jimi did it with some session band members sometime in the 2000's. I won't even watch those videos. I prefer the more familiar version, when Jimi was younger, like this video here.
This man was such free spirt. A really nice man. In 1995, at 23, my friend and I went to see Survivor at the Hammond Fest in Indiana. We were first row so the show was awesome. Suddenly they broke out a couple of Doors tunes. Now Jimi kept passing the mic around to the crowd to sing during the whole show. As they start playing Roadhouse Blues, come second verse Jimi puts the mic right in front of me and je kept smiling and encouraging me. I have a baritone voice and sound like Morrison I started singing the 2nd verse and Jimi kept telling me to keep going, I got to sing the whole 2nd verse and the crowd was wild. I was high for a month!! God bless you and rest your soul Jimi
going
This is real music. The melody, the composition, and the voice! And it's LIVE! Just wow!
This man was so talented & beautiful!❤
He performed the same at a concert as he would at a studio.
Such passion. He will forever live on in his music! A true gem & icon.
At 3:37 when he sings "hand" it's insanely powerfull.
Best song that will never get old and last forever. Thanks Jimi
2019? anyone listening? LEGEND song

One of the best songs ever. RIP Jimi.
The search was really over when Jimi & his unparalled voice made a history.
Jimi Jamison (RIP), Brad Delp (RIP), Dennis de Young, they have a natural golden voices. How I wish I have those voices to sing to all kids in these days who love uncircumcised k-pop group to turn their hearings to real music!
One of the best singer of all time. RIP
God Jimi was so beautiful, inside and out. This performance is so moving. I'll miss him always 💔💔💔
The world is missing another great singer
My all time Favourite song... Darn I didnt know Jimi is no longer of this world.. it broke my heart...
Sing Praises to our lord in the heavens Jimi... May your soul be at peace for always.
Mine too. I can’t believe he’s gone. I still have the tape since I was a kid.
i know this song for a long time but this is the first time saw them live. I was amazed and a bit confused because his voice and how he sang this song was so clear like it was recorded in the studio. Amazing vocal power.
That's a sign of a good artist!
Like me😀
Yes, it's live. Truly a great talent!
I cried when the whole band enters. Rock on!
The best part of listening to this song Live is that it sounds exactly like the recording. He does not try to make things sound different because it's live. Awesome performance!
80's lady here! I can tell you exactly where I was when I first heard this, 16 yrs. old at the Lakehouse. Never heard the DJ say who it was, so I finally found out this yr. lol life happens & realized they did Eye of the Tiger and Burning heart. I have been listening to their music that I knew nothing about and I'm soooooo disappointed that they haven't been recognized properly. I'm in love with a dead man
Totally besides having the greatest voice, kindest heart, and unfailing humility, I just noticed that he also had incredibly beautiful hands! Lol
I agree and I thought I was the only one who noticed how manicured his hands always looked, it's in every video, he was a perfect idol
Man he could sing.. RIP Jimi
THE 80'S ARE THE GREATEST DECADE THERE WILL EVER BE.....🕧 ABSOLUTELY TIMELESS.....🕧 GOD BLESS THE 80'S..... FOREVER, AND EVER.....🕧
.
survivor is one of those few who makes it better in concert than the original songs from the album, cause jimi is one of the greatest
Still meaningful after all the years.
What a song Love it .why can't we have music like this today ?
Before he started singging the song he was all but fresh, but at the end of it he was sweating all over. Only shows how difficult this song to sing.. Kudos Jimi
Just Amazing !!! This was my wedding song
Back when music meant something. Stellar vocals. Wow.
The Voice ♥️♥️♥️♥️ It doesn't get any better than this! Jimi is so very missed.
One of the 80s best songs!
I hate when people ask. Are you still listening in this year or that year?, what does that matter? This music is timeless. It doesn't matter what year it is. It's legendary screw what year it is..R.I.P Jimi, I know you're singing with all the angels up there in heaven

I was 15 years old and remember hearing this at the school dances, brings back memories, but this is the first time I ever heard them live, wow, what a set of pipes this guy has, awesome.
