that was the point of recording in the 80s. As soon as that motive was lost it was over. It was intentionally tweaked into a cultural blight so it could be weaponized into a political weapon which is all entertainment is. It highlights the small minds that lurk in shadows.
Jon Bruno Buffalo, NY isn't all about our 10 feet of Snow every winter & 4 lost Suberbowls & 1977 Blizzard. In 70s early 80s 10 years of Concerts 4 every summer at Bills Stadium. Rolling Stones played here 6 times. Bummer Led Zeppelin cancelled when Roberts son passed away in 1977. They got Allman Brothers & Lynyrd Skynyrd to play here. Also Country singer Alan Jackson. It was funny almost every Band opened saying HELLO BUFFALO. Not lying about our winter weather
Very few people look beyond the obvious 2 Eye Of The Tiger and Burning Heart. Me being more curious, raked TH-cam and found what I could, liked the lot bar one, bought the Ultimate Survivor CD and have topped Bon Jovi as my top rock band
Probably my favorite Survivor song and video. So blessed to have grown up with this music. There has been nothing like it since. Sad that so many of the greats from that era are gone. It was truly a great time to be alive.
Beautifully stated, I couldn’t agree more. It was a magic time, just pure magic, and this song somehow makes my heart kind of hurt a little bit as I remember how beautiful it was. I was in elementary school at the time……just soaking it all in. Thanks for sharing, best wishes everybody. ❤️
Well gee, you're the first one to ever say anything remotely like that. Now come up with a clever remark about the 650 thumbs down and then go play the lottery.
Jimi was a huge fan of Steve Perry as am I. I'm so glad that we atleast still have Perry and that he decided to put out a album after being away from the music industry for over 20yrs because he still has that incredible voice!
@@kennethmcmahan609 Jamison, at his best, was better than Steve Perry. This song represents Jamison at his best...cool that Perry's still around, though. "Traces" was allright, no more, but a nice treat, just because....
What a Classic !!!! One of my all time favorites.... This group is extremely talented. This song is simply Awesome!!! As is this video!!! Yes this gentleman Jimi Jamison is most definitely beautiful then and now. He has gotten even more & more handsome. He is such an endearing heart and sweet soul as well. That's what makes his talent even more incredible for he is truly one of a kind.
MINE TOO!! I don't think the video quite does it justice. This song captures the wonderful experience of meeting someone and hitting it off so well you just can't wait to see each other again. The next day you can't stop thinking about that person. He(she) is excited too. If you connect after that and fall in love, euphoria! Music expresses emotions and we can sing along when expressing them is too risky. Play it loud and sing along! I bought it off iTunes!
It's true! I am impressed by it...like built for commercials...hey its cheesy, but it's not depressingly bad 90s alt music of any stripe. Oh that was rough...some not all. Just sooooo serious this isnt its peppy!
I love the 80s...... Let's all Sing along ! LYRICS below There you stood, that'll teach her To look so good and feel so right Let me tell you about the girl I met last night It's understood, I had to reach her I let the wheel of fortune spin I touched your hand before the crowd started crashin' in Now I'm higher than a kite I know I'm getting hooked on your love Talkin' to myself, runnin' in the heat Beggin' for your touch In the middle of the street And I, I can't stop thinkin' about you, girl I must be livin' in a fantasy world I'm so high on you Smart and coy, a little crazy The kind of face that starts a fight Let me tell you about the girl I had last night Piercin' eyes, like a raven You seemed to share my secret sin We were high before the night started kickin' in Now I'm screamin' in the night I know I'm getting hooked on your love Talkin' to myself, runnin' in the heat Beggin' for your touch In the middle of the street And I, I can't stop thinkin' about you, girl I must be livin' in a fantasy world I've searched the whole world over To find a heart so true Such complete intoxication I'm high on you There you stood, that'll teach her To look so good and feel so right Let me tell you about the girl I met last night Now I'm higher than a kite I know I'm getting hooked on your love Talkin' to myself, runnin' in the heat Beggin' for your touch in the middle of the street And I, I can't stop thinkin' about you, girl I must be livin' in a fantasy world I've searched the whole world over To find a heart so true Such complete intoxication I'm high on you I'm high on you I'm high on you I'm high on you
I think it's safe to say that Survivor were the masters of the power ballad. I had no idea at the time just how great this music was. I miss the `80s SO much.
+Chris Baker Stan Bush is the only one who could even come close to matching him in vocal style he should get with Survivor as their new lead singer :)
I saw these guys way way way back when they were the openers for Triumph. The show was in Dallas Texas. Their only hit of note was Poor Man's Son but it was a great performance. It wasn't long after that when they exploded on to the scene and I felt lucky to have seen them.
I was 8 years old when this song was released. As many times as I've listened to it over the years, each time is like the first time. So many great songs were released in the 80's and this is one of those songs. Once you've heard it you don't ever forget.
+mitch1835 Yes, indeed. Steve Perry and Jimi Jamison probably both have the same voice type which is tenor, and both infuse emotion into every song they sing. But RIP Jimi.
Here in Miami I sometimes go to a restaurant/pub that plays 80's music after 12 AM, but many of the patrons are ladies in their twenties. Simply Heaven!
This song is so beautiful I miss back when music sounded like this so much. None of us had a clue in the world that music was gonna turn out to be the way it is today. If I could relive the 80s I would do it in a heart beat!.
As much as I love, love, love 80's music, I have found some great music that is popular now. It's a few years old, but the Chelsea Dagger song is awesome! I like Courtney Barnet (probably spelled it wrong) singing a song, "I'm thinking of you, too...." Not sure of the actual title, but I love that song!
That's what I'm talking about. None of us had any idea or thought's about music changing like this. This was the style and we thought it was gonna be like this forever it seemed like. Now that we're here in the future, boy don't we wish it did. Heart beat, I'm looking for a heart beat. I loved that song btw. It was in the movie The Principal with Jim Belushi.
Fred Flintstone go listen to Steve Perry’s live performance of “Mother Father” from Live in Houston or “Girl Can’t Help It”. Steve Perry is the best rock singer in history in my opinion.
One of my all-time favorite songs! Always brings me back to my teenage years and that feeling of meeting a girl for the first time! There will never be a other decade like the 80's and the joy these songs gave us!
Wow! What a song...what a voice! It brings back some beautiful memories of the 80's. I'm just sorry Jimi is no longer with us; he will certainly never be forgotten. His music lives on.
great group. Im 68, Im still stuck in the 60's & early 70's music,I like a lot of 80's too, lots of groups from the 60's & 70's are popular in the 80's, David Coverdale, used to sing lead vocals in Deep purple in the early 70's, Mellencamp, REO speedwagon, many others. they said in the 60's Rock & Roll will never die, listening to todays music sometimes I feel it was a lie, but I have over 500 of the ol songs from my past on a USB stick🤗
Cool @@ukmedicfrcs ! So I'll get all my old music, the geetar, the Aussie pup, the motorcycle and summertime camping stuff all loaded in the truck... Where will we live ? This will teach you not to look so good and feel so right... I must be living in a fantasy world.... * smile *

that was the point of recording in the 80s. As soon as that motive was lost it was over. It was intentionally tweaked into a cultural blight so it could be weaponized into a political weapon which is all entertainment is. It highlights the small minds that lurk in shadows.
I was in my 30's and I enjoyed it just as much!
You can still enjoy it! No bands are making music like this nowadays though!

Nobody makes songs this great anymore!
Nobody makes music at all anymore
@@BrianTaylor-v6q I agree!
If you didn't lived in the Era of the 80 believe you don't know what you was missing especially the music 🎶
Can't go back; damn it. BUT, music like this can take you back.
You got that right!
I can't go back either I was 14 back then got it love to go back still enjoy this today
Doesn’t it! I was living in Fl then! I’m there in my head!
I can't go back because I never left.
Hundreds, even thousands of years from now…these songs and videos from the 80’s will be enjoyed by billions…many BILLIONS!!!
I know that a majority of people just think about the theme song to Rocky when they hear survivor, but I myself put this song WAY above that!!👍
Very few people look beyond the obvious 2 Eye Of The Tiger and Burning Heart. Me being more curious, raked TH-cam and found what I could, liked the lot bar one, bought the Ultimate Survivor CD and have topped Bon Jovi as my top rock band
Please change to favourite band and Jimi top lead vocalist
Probably my favorite Survivor song and video. So blessed to have grown up with this music. There has been nothing like it since. Sad that so many of the greats from that era are gone. It was truly a great time to be alive.
Beautifully stated, I couldn’t agree more. It was a magic time, just pure magic, and this song somehow makes my heart kind of hurt a little bit as I remember how beautiful it was. I was in elementary school at the time……just soaking it all in. Thanks for sharing, best wishes everybody. ❤️

It's fair to say the music of the 80's was better, (actually 1000%) better then what we're hearing now.
Agreed!
Well gee, you're the first one to ever say anything remotely like that. Now come up with a clever remark about the 650 thumbs down and then go play the lottery.
mykidpatkinsing John amen
I miss the 80's music. Nobody sounds that good anymore!
the music died after 1989
This song like so many others that they have recorded is an absolute masterpiece. Jimi Jamison is one of the greatest singers in rock history.
Im totally agree!
RIP Jimi Jamison. Great voice, great song.
Jimi Jamison and Steve Perry are incomparable!!!
lou gramm too
I just listen to Steve Perry and thought about Jimi Jamison.
I love both of them ❤️nothing compares to them nowadays
What a Classic !!!! One of my all time favorites.... This group is extremely talented. This song is simply Awesome!!! As is this video!!!
Yes this gentleman Jimi Jamison is most definitely beautiful then and now. He has gotten even more & more handsome. He is such an endearing heart and sweet soul as well. That's what makes his talent even more incredible for he is truly one of a kind.
Roller rink flashbacks ensue.
One of the greatest songs of the 80s and my favorite Survivor song. This was a great band and what an awesome vocalist!
love it
Nice Laura! It totally embodies everything you said here.
r.i.p. jimi! gone but not forgotten!
I Love tbe eighties😀🍺🍻great song
Jimi Jameson and Survivor. Such talent. A singer you can understand,
That's because this is from a time where there were lyrics worth hearing... not just lazy repeating and yeahyeahyeah...
This might be the single most 80s thing I've ever heard in my life.
It's an excellent song.
DiamondAxeStudios video looks awesome
I am hooked
@@tiredcomet3828 I been hooked on this damn song for 34 years....
Very good.
It's true! I am impressed by it...like built for commercials...hey its cheesy, but it's not depressingly bad 90s alt music of any stripe. Oh that was rough...some not all. Just sooooo serious this isnt its peppy!
I love the 80s...... Let's all Sing along ! LYRICS below
There you stood, that'll teach her
To look so good and feel so right
Let me tell you about the girl I met last night
It's understood, I had to reach her
I let the wheel of fortune spin
I touched your hand before the crowd started crashin' in
Now I'm higher than a kite
I know I'm getting hooked on your love
Talkin' to myself, runnin' in the heat
Beggin' for your touch
In the middle of the street
And I, I can't stop thinkin' about you, girl
I must be livin' in a fantasy world
I'm so high on you
Smart and coy, a little crazy
The kind of face that starts a fight
Let me tell you about the girl I had last night
Piercin' eyes, like a raven
You seemed to share my secret sin
We were high before the night started kickin' in
Now I'm screamin' in the night
I know I'm getting hooked on your love
Talkin' to myself, runnin' in the heat
Beggin' for your touch
In the middle of the street
And I, I can't stop thinkin' about you, girl
I must be livin' in a fantasy world
I've searched the whole world over
To find a heart so true
Such complete intoxication
I'm high on you
There you stood, that'll teach her
To look so good and feel so right
Let me tell you about the girl I met last night
Now I'm higher than a kite
I know I'm getting hooked on your love
Talkin' to myself, runnin' in the heat
Beggin' for your touch in the middle of the street
And I, I can't stop thinkin' about you, girl
I must be livin' in a fantasy world
I've searched the whole world over
To find a heart so true
Such complete intoxication
I'm high on you
I'm high on you
I'm high on you
I'm high on you

Drummer playin with elbows high. That's how ya really smack em hard. Love it
I think it's safe to say that Survivor were the masters of the power ballad. I had no idea at the time just how great this music was. I miss the `80s SO much.
No denying, the Man had a "One of a kind" voice, And will be dearly missed. Great song!

I TOTALLY GO BACK TO THE 80'S WITH SURVIVOR SONGS, JIMMI WHAT A VOICE I LOVE IT SO MUCH I WILL BE MISS U !!!
Who's listening to this greatness in 2020🤘🤘,,so thankful I got to grow up with music like this..💯💯
So much energy and passion to this music! Got me fired up in my late teens and again in my late 50’s!
Still listening going into 2021🤘❤
Yes I'm listening! Love these guys.

April 2021!
I was 8 years old when this song was released. As many times as I've listened to it over the years, each time is like the first time. So many great songs were released in the 80's and this is one of those songs. Once you've heard it you don't ever forget.
My favorite Survivor song, and there were many. R. I. P. Both Stephen Elliot ( Base Guitar) & The legendary Jimmie Jamison ( Lead Vocals)
Yes, he's everybit as good a singer as SP but i didn't even know his name . Sad he's passed on 😢
Seriously they died? Owwwwwwww

This is really a great song. Jimi Jamison was one of the best rock vocalists ever.
rest in peace Jimi!! thanks for your great voice and music!!
When this came out in 1984, Henry Kissinger was 61, Casey Kasem was 52, Carol Burnett was 51, I was 48, Paul McCartney was 42, and Madonna was 26
Two of the best voices in rock Steve Perry and Jimi , no autotune needed for these gentleman! R.I.P. JJ
Indeed♥
And Lou Gramm with Kevin Cronin too.
you are very correct
Easily the best. I can't believe Jimi's already been dead for a year. We lost 2 legends last year: Robin Williams and Jimi Jamison.
+mitch1835 Yes, indeed. Steve Perry and Jimi Jamison probably both have the same voice type which is tenor, and both infuse emotion into every song they sing. But RIP Jimi.
RIP Jimi Jamison. we miss you and the talent you shared with us.
As I post 📫, 40 years 🎂 since this video and song were released. 1984.
Here in Miami I sometimes go to a restaurant/pub that plays 80's music after 12 AM, but many of the patrons are ladies in their twenties. Simply Heaven!
More importantly, Jesus saves sinners. God bless you fellow rocker
This is an excellent song!!!!
This song is so beautiful I miss back when music sounded like this so much. None of us had a clue in the world that music was gonna turn out to be the way it is today. If I could relive the 80s I would do it in a heart beat!.
I've been saying this for a long time. The 80's clearly had the best music.
i agree, my city in late 70s 80s for 10 yrs had concert 4 times every summer at football stadium, all big time bands
Heartbeat - Don Johnson released in 1986. Your comment reminded me of this old gem!
80's RULE!!!!
Hell Yes!!! One of the MANY great songs from Survivor. Strong in 2023:)
Elvis Presley and Jimi Jamison, two amazing voices from Memphis!
R.I.P Jimi Jamison greatest singer ever
NYRF DeadPool Jr. Oh no. He went to heaven don't worry love ya
NYRF DeadPool Jr. Yeah, Jimi had a really great voice, but Steve Perry was better.
@@judyfonseca I disagree. Jamison, at his best, was better than Perry. This is Jamison at his best....
Fred Flintstone go listen to Steve Perry’s live performance of “Mother Father” from Live in Houston or “Girl Can’t Help It”. Steve Perry is the best rock singer in history in my opinion.

great group.
