I think its curious that those tattoos on his chest and the... goggle? look exactly like a Nazar. (those eyes with a dark blue sclera, a bright blue iris with a white ring around it and a tiny black pupil.)
That caught my eye too! No pun intended. My best guess is that it's supposed to be a visual connection to nemesis. Her keepsake is the evil eye and Nazar amulets are supposed to protect from that. Perhaps he's trying to protect from further retribution (he did kill a lot of people, including some of Ody's folks, and lose his eye over it) or he can more retribution for whats been done to him. It's definitely an interesting design choice!

Everything about his design screams scoundrel that got away with it by the skin of his teeth. Supergiant are fantastic devs but their art department is truly a master of the craft.
I love that, they gave him that schemer look, while still managing to make him look proud and heroic. And that makes sense, since things like deception and planning were considered very heroic traits in Greek culture.
My favorite part is after you defeat Polyphemus a couple of times, odysseus has a new dialogue where he really tries to restrain himself but can't help calling polyphemus the worst and saying that if he could, he would blind him again

Odysseus looks absolutely perfect in this game, you can TELL that's a man who's coming up with schemes.
