I really relate to that sense of feeling crazy for everyone else just continuing on with the status quo. There are so many times I hit that point, and it's not just the obesity epidemic. The early onset of menstruation is another one where it's, like, "C'mon people? Something is really wrong here, right? We're messing with the reproductive health of our species and our plan is...?"

Healthcare is so silo'd that it's up to the individual to address. In my experience, if someone doesn't call you crazy, you're not pushing hard enough.

18:53 gluten-issues is often just a misnomer for not being able to handle certain foods or their ingredients. Eg they can't handle oat milk or croissants but they do fine if on home made bread, because there you don't bother mixing in all the additives the industry uses. But additive-intolerance isn't a thing and gluten is, so gluten became a sort of scapegoat.

      Can you cite this?

@@AdventuresWithQuinn you want me to cite a study about laypeople's incorrect assumptions on what's the actual cause of an intolerance? It's in response to your anecdote of someone claiming asymptomatic gluten intolerance where cutting out french fries was their most impactful dietary change.
