I told myself I wasn’t going to download tik tok to promote my music because I don’t have the time to make them. But now more than ever I understand the relevance of the app and most of my demographic uses tik tok so I’ll give it a try

You can't imagine how much I struggle 😅 I make music in your 2 most favorite micro genres. Cloudrap and Hyperpop.
You barely find creators on the platform, and hashtags are super tiny. If you want to run Facebook Ads, none of the genres is pickable as an Audience Interest, and no artist is big enough. Only "Yung Lean" is recognized by the platform 😵
Weird I feel like the hyper pop scene is huge on TikTok but also I’m in Brooklyn where it’s really popping off

I discovered your channel just recently and love it. I've been spending an hour daily to watch past videos back to at least a year in your channel - great stuff! So far I do understand the important of continued content and especially videos at TikTok and other social media. I understand the importance when you emphasize stories as the best way to build community. Where I'm a bit confused is around the duration of content video to be posted on a regular basis and hope you can clarify this for us. I see that the most viewed videos seem to be the shorts at 15 seconds max. However, when producing such shorts, I'm finding that quite often 15 seconds is not enough to convey a compelling story. So it's a battle between getting in enough time to justify the story versus keeping the length short to meet the attention span of TikTok and reels at other social media. So my main question is -- what should the duration of content video be for sustained promotions?

My progress on TikTok has been sluggish as hell... I've felt like I'm all over the place with content. I get more views doing goofy sound trends than I am with my music, even after trying to use other musicians as a template idea. I've clawed my way to... a whopping 60 followers after 9 months.
Gonna try the other account thing discussed here though, so here's hoping it helps
Use some ads to push your best videos and try to build followers that way first. It's fairly cheap, Im about to break 1k followers off of a ten second music video clip that's now nearing 20k views.
