  • THIS IS A 1953 FORD F100 THAT BELONGS TO A VERY GOOD FRIEND OF MINE. HE HAS BEEN BUILDING THIS TRUCK FOR AWHILE NOW. HE HAS IT JUST ABOUT READY TO DRIVE. HE IS DOWN TO SOME FINAL DETAILS. THE TURN SIGNALS AND BRAKES LIGHTS ARE NOT WORKING RIGHT. SO HE ASKED IF I WOULD BE WILLING TO FIX IT FOR HIM. I WAS MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP. I REALLY LIKE THIS TRUCK AND HOPE TO HAVE ONE LIKE IT ONE DAY. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE VIDEO.

The color reminds me of the old Ohio Bell Telephone trucks in the 50/60's.

I agree, I always wondered how the whole flasher with the combined stop light system worked as in the UK we have separate lamps for each. Perfect explanation from JC. 😀👍👍🇬🇧

And the rest of the world has amber turn signals on a separate circuit. So much easier! I current wiring a 1948 Dodge half ton (California) converting to 12v…. I am keeping the old wiring in place for originality however putting an alternator on it…

@@haroldphipps3457 nope. It was the small one, it was a 3 on the tree with a small ci ohv small block. I was young so I don’t remember much, it had cool door lock key holes I notice this one doesn’t tho. And the fuel cap was higher up, tank was behind the seat.

What a beautiful F100 J.C. They just don’t make them like they use to. I wanted to see it drive too! Great job tracing wires and doin it the right way. You’ve shown that wiring is an invaluable skill to know. I’m sure the owner was very pleased when he drove off.👍

What a sweet old Ford! I really like that the repower is a carburetor 302, as in he kept it all Ford. It drives me crazy seeing any old Ford truck with GM trash powering it.
Anyway she's a real beauty, just needed a little help in the electrical and wiring area

    • @corythomas4427

Same here, most of the time. It can very easily strip the nostalgia and all that's left is just a metal box with no soul. That truck was tastefully modified/upgraded, but not overdone. Just enough to add reliability and functionality with a little bit of creature comfort (and safety) sprinkled on top. What I like most is that it actually gets driven!
