Cleaning, decorating and lighting earthen lamps for 9 days in and around the home in many patterns and enjoying its beautiful night view.

In India all the festivals are meaningful and celebrated across communities. Some of the biggest festivals are Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Holi, Devi Puja, Id Ul Fitr, Navratri and Dassehra. Of course there are many more and all are celebrated for some purpose. Since India is so diverse there are many different festivals in different communities and States.

Hi Indi, Diwali is also a grand celebration and a national festival in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹. It is celebrated in the same way. The entire country comes together despite various races / religions. In Trinidad and Tobago the use of fire crackers are limited due to the harmful effects on animals especially dogs. However the country host one of the largest Diwali celebration or gathering in the western hemisphere called DIWALI NAGAR.

Hi Indi, Divali or Dipawali is festival of rejoice and happiness, On this day our Lord Rama finished his 14 years in exile and with him his wife mata sita( who was from and now called Nepal) along with his younger brother shri Luxman arrivied back to his kingdom. Diwali is like New Years for us, as so is Basakhi in punjab, pongal in the southern india and Bihu in the northeast. Indians all over celibrate all festivals that is the beauty of Bharat. We are all different but when it come to our Mother land we all stand united. Since you want to know Bharat that is why i am commenting long. In Diwali people buy new dresses, jewelary, sweets and fire crackers, as well as Diyas.
We will be moving soon to e-Diwali using e-crackers and also plant a billion trees every year and also put a billion solar pannels.

In India we gave so much importance to our family. I live in a joint family where near about 20 members lived in a same house. On Bhai dooj or on rakshabandhan the number of members increased because my Buaji (father's sister) and their family came for this celebration of brother and sister's festival. We really enjoyed our festivals with whole family and neighbours.

That happens everytime. We dont make rangoli anymore because someone would always step on it before any guest could even appreciate and see it. Just a mess of colourful powder is left after some time..so we just avoid making it at all. I have spent half my life cleaning up the mess I make before my mom decided to stop making Rangoli all together.😂..now we just get stickers that look like rangoli to put on floor.

The word diwali is actually derived from the sanskrit word deepawli which is made up of two words deep and avli where deep means diya or (earthen) lamp and avli means row so deepawli literally means rows of lamps and rows of lights. It is atleast 3500 years old festival And is actually the original festival of lights.

I dont know why but diwali always makes us happy.. Obviously, cleaning houses are difficult and hectic but we all do it in very enthusiasm...from childhood itself i was very fond of diwali for fire crackers... but now we have understood about air pollution it creates after diwali...from last two years there are less air pollution as it use to be due to fire crackers because evryone in india had understood the real meaning of diwali i.e: meeting family membrs, having fun chatting, exchanging gifts, worshipping deities...and also crackers but to very small extent...hence i love india....learns through experiences & knowledge...
