Hinduism is a Religion, it includes a belief in a life beyond a grave, believes in Karma and Liberation of Karma, believes in God and attaining a Holy Life & Unity with God; What westerners name a Hinduism - is a believer of 1 of 4 traditions - Shaivism, Vaishnavism, Shaktism or Smārta tradition of Shankara - those traditions all together are named Hinduism in Western countries & Russia. I often see Indians who are uneducated that Dharma is a Synonim word to Religion; either we use Religion or Dharma - - it means a Duty, a Religious Duty one should perform to attain God & Holy Life.

Yes dharma is different than religion but at the same time hinduism is not religion becoz its not defined as religion becoz it can't be its just considered as religion becoz it doesn't fit defiinition of hinduism. "Brahman" is entirely different from the "Brahma", the Creator.
Bharman artharth bhram +ayan .....bhram pr chlne ka rasta ya bhram ko pane ka rasta .....jo ki logo ne arth ka anrarth aur pta nhi kya -2 kr diya hai
But they are kinda feel similar too but actually not. Bramha is deity and Bramhan is supreme reality so they can't be equated on the grounds of meaning.
Brahma is one of deity from Trinity, he is the creator and Brahman is a word made up from Brahma+anu, anu means particle or atom to be precise ...so brahman means part of brahma.... All living beings are part of brahma's soul..so we all are one
And the word for universe is Brahmand(ब्रह्मांड) not brahman

It is the rituals mostly which make it difficult for common people to understand the essence..thats why the Bhagavad Gita was composed because there was urgent need for reforms and Buddhism had already established itself with its direct and simple approach as a credible alternative to Vedic ritualistic system which can offer solutions to problems in life...
that was around 200 BC and Krishna Vasudeva the god of the Bhagavata sect was introduced as a divine incarnation who would guide humanity towards Moksha or liberation from the cycle of birth and death without having to abstain from their worldly duties...
Unfortunately rituals have again overshadowed the essence of Puranic hinduism just like in the Vedic system and caste system made the situation even worse...

@krishan das Caste system is not part of our Sanatan Dharm. It was never. It was just an another study on human classification in terms of society. There classification was done initially then occupation were not included under this as creators did know where to fit them, like people living in jungle without outside help, they didn't fall under this classification. But anyway, we Hindus are to be blamed who this classification to a caste system as part of society and politics and still following it blindly.

Dude, this guy’s got the nicest explanation of Hinduism and did a bit of his own research. Yeh there are a few things wrong but he did it with a grain of decency and research and didn’t stick to the Western interpretation of things. He explained what caste was, that it was initially varnas and based off ability not birth. He didn’t omit various inconvenient things to a typical western narrative. And made it look very interesting. I think overall he did a great job!

Caste system is NOT Sanatana Dharma. Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya, Sudhra are classes that classify persons according to the work they do, not by birth.
The present caste system prevailing in India is a creation of society. It is true that when Britishers were trying to understand the Sanatana system, some Brahmin persons who acted as translators gave wrong translations glorifying themselves. The British put it in writing and later day people who did not know the Sanskrit scripts, believed what the British said. Thus the 4 classes became castes decided by birth. It is nowhere (in Rig Veda, Gita) stated that the Varnashrama is based on birth. It is an interpolation.
It was first of all Varna system that's *working class* not caste....it was first used by mughals to seperate kshatriyas and rajputs with other varnas so that others won't supply goods to kshatriyas to remain in battlefields with mughals and some SELFISH kings gave their territory and services to mughals😏😏 creating castes from classes👎👎 and then britishers used this tool !!! So working class is work based not birth based that's the reality but surely casteism and RACE INEQUALITY is there in all abrahmic cults esp... It is just part of the current Indian society but not part of Hinduism, which is what has been propagated in the popculture.. in past decades.
The Varna system followed during the Vedic times where it is a fluidic social structure each name broadly designating the activity of those people ...
-brahmana (philosophers, literature, priests, teachers l, advisors etc)
-Kshatriya (warriors, protectors, administrators, etc)
-Vaishyas (merchants, business, agriculture, etc)
-Shudras (service sector, laborers skilled and unskilled, workers).
And this is later twisted by some people with vested interests, aggravated by the divide and rule of the invaders, Colonial forces into the currently infamous "caste system" which looks similar to the original "Varna system" but not the same.
And the people are brainwashed by it and follow the altered caste system instead of the original Varna system (which was more practical, fluid and not at all oppressive).
The caste system is based on the birth and that is not part of original teachings of the vedas, but it is the product of selfish idiots exploiting the system and the influence of the invaders.
The original VARNA SYSTEM is more practical, fluidic, flexible system... Where the Varna is assigned based on the activity and one can change to a different Varna when they change their occupation.
The word "Varna" is what is actually used to refer to this system... And the word Varna itself means "color" (a spectrum, which is continuous and there are may levels of a specific Varna within that Varna and people can change Varna if they change their occupation).
However, one is recommended to focus on the Dharma of their own Varna (occupation) which is based on their own skills, interests and abilities...
There are many examples of people taking occupations different from their parent's profession.
Valmiki a hunter became an author and a saint.
A fishermen community lady (shudra parents) became a queen under her own conditions and terms.
It is vey Common that the leader of any communities is considered as a kshatriya Varna (administrator Varna).
Eg: Nanda gopal a cowherd community leader is considered kshatriya.
Parashurama born in a brahmana priest home became a kshatriya warrior
etc, etc...
Dharmik faiths(Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Sikhism) are infinite life literature.. Where as abrahamic faiths(Christianity, Islam) are single life literature.. That's fundamental difference.

Concept of time:
The current age (and total age) of universe as described by Vedas and Puranas. According to modern science, there are two theories:
a. The Steady State theory, which says the universe is never born, never dies, and is always like what it is.
b. The Big bang theory, which says the universe began with a point of energy exploding in a "big-bang".
Since the universe is expanding and evolving, 1st theory is not 100% correct automatically. Big Bang theory says that the current age of universe is 11-20 billion years. But according to new observations, i.e. clusters of galaxies, super-clusters, Great Wall (Tully's complexes), it is quite evident that our universe is much much older than that. Lots of cosmologist believe that big-bang theory is not correct although it is most widely accepted. In short, modern man is not aware of forces and science which are needed to expain the creation of universe.
Lets look at vedic science and what it says. Right now I am quoting only what it says:
a. Total age of universe is 311.04 trillion years (human years).
b. Current age is around 155.521972944 trillion years.
How it is calculated:
-> There are 4 ages on earth which keeps circulating:
Satya Yuga - 1.728 million years
Treta Yuga - 1.296 million years
Dwapara Yuga - 0.864 million years
Kali Yuga - 0.432 million years
Total: 4.32 million human years.
-> This yuga cycle is called maha (in english, it means great/big) or divya (divine) yuga. One thousand such cycles forms one day of Brahma. So one day of Brahma is 4.32 million * 1000 = 4.32 billion human years. Each such day of Brahma is called a "kalpa". His night also constitutes 4.32 billion human years. During his day, life exists in universe. In nighttime, no form of life exists. So one complete day and night has 8.64 billion human years.
-> Age of Brahma is 100 years. Each year of Brahma has 360 days and same number of nights. Thus, total age of Brahma is 360 * 100 * 8.64 billion = 311,040 billion human years. i.e. 311.04 trillion years. This period is called "maha kalpa".
-> The life span of the universe is one "maha kalpa". i.e. 311.04 trillion human years. This time span is also the duration of one breath of "Vishnu". When he exhales, thousands of universes emerges and one "Brahma" is born in each universe. When "Vishnu" inhales, all universes get sucked and Brahma dies.
-> This cycle is non-ending and eternal. Thats why "Vishnu" is considered eternal in Vedic Science (or religion).
How much old is our universe:
-> Note that the period of Satya Yuga is 0.4x, Treta Yuga is 0.3x, Dwapara Yuga is 0.2x and Kali Yuga is 0.1x where x is the time-span of one maha-yuga cycle. I will use 'x' as 1 maha-yuga cycle subsequently.
-> In 1 day of Brahma, there are 14 "manvantara". Each "manvantara" is divided into 71 "maha-yuga" cycles. So total make 14*71 = 994x (mahayuga cycles).
-> Remaining cycles (1 day of Brahma contains 1000 maha-yuga cycles) are used to fill gaps between manvantara. Before and after each manvantara (called as "sandhya" and "sandhyamsa" respectively), there is a junction of 1.728 million (age of Satya Yuga, or 0.4x) human years. Total number of junctions are 15 (since there are 14 manvantaras). So total gap period is = 0.4 * 15 = 6x. Hence total makes 1000 maha-yuga cycles or 1 brahma day.
-> According to the Vedic texts, current age of Brahma is 50 Brahma years and 1 brahma day (we are in the 1st day of 2nd half of brahma)and we are in the seventh "manvantara", in the 28th turnover of its 71 yuga cycles. In this cycle, we are in the start Kali Yuga. Age of kali yuga is not known perfectly but it is around 5000-10000 years. For calculation, lets assume 8000 human years.
-> So current age of our universe (in terms of maha-yuga cycles) =
(50 * 720 * 1000) -- 50 years * (360 days + 360 nights) * total no. of cycles in one day/night
+ (6 * 71) -- 6 manvantara each of 71 maha-yuga cycle
+ (7 * 0.4) -- 7 junctions or gaps for 6 manvantara
+ (27 * 1) -- we are in 28th cycle of 71
+ (0.4+0.3+0.2) -- In this cycle, we are in Kali Yuga. Satya Yuga, Treat Yuga and Dwapara yuga are 0.4x, 0.3x and 0.2x respectively.
+ around 8000 human years -- very small, so ignoring it.
Thus total age = (36,000,000 + 456.7)x = 36,000,456.7 * 4.32 million = 155,521,972.944 million years = 155.521972944 trillion human years. Now add the age of kaliyuga. i.e. around 8000 human years. One we calculate the exact age of kaliyuga, we can know the exact age of universe.
"GOD" G for Generator lord brahma, O for observer lord bishnu and D for destroyer lord shiva.. the trio is actually defferent power forms of Parambhahma "the almighty one"... thats what we believe..

The Four Varna system of ancient India was originally based upon the idea of an organic social order that remains relevant today. What is called caste today should not be confused with it.
According to the Bhagavad Gita, the nature of your thoughts decides the varna (caste) which you belong too. Unfortunately, in the current caste system, the main/only criteria is one’s birth and not one’s qualification. This has inevitably is led to the breakdown of the Varnashrama system.
In the 18th Chapter of the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna gives information on the natural qualities of four varnas, as follows: Peacefulness, self-control, austerity, purity, tolerance, honesty, knowledge, wisdom, and religiousness-these are the natural qualities by which the Brahmanas work. (BG 18.42)
Heroism, power, determination, resourcefulness, courage in battle, generosity, and leadership are the natural qualities of work for the kshatriyas. (BG 18.43)
Farming, cow protection, and business are the natural work for the Vaisyas, and for the sudras there is labor and who render manual services. (BG 18.44)
A sudra can become a Brahmin and a Brahmin can become a sudra by the nature of their thoughts and action.

The deepest meaning is,Brahmins are those people who use the brains for and perform activities related to studies and knowledge about Brahman. Likewise, each group has been categorised based on their Gunas , karmas(qualifications and performances) and use of the limbs of their body. No religion teaches about wrong and inhuman things,if we find such things in any Religion,you may consider it as an interpolation by selfish people.

Universal soul is not “Bramhan”.
Bramhan, according to sanskrut definition, is a person who walks the path of Bramha. Bramha is a “deity” what anthropomorphises the creative energy in the universe. So any person who uses all his intellectual faculties for creation if something is a Bramhan. A woman cooking for her family is creating food, thus, by definition, she’s a Bramhan while she’s cooking.
The universal soul - is known as “ishwar”. Manifestation of this soul is known as Nashwar. Therefore, your own consciousness is Ishwar, which according to Hinduism, is God.
Which is why we say Namaste - I bow down to the god within you.
Human body, on the other hand, which is governed by the laws of nature, can be destroyed. Therefore Human body is Nashwar and Human mind is Ishwar.
