Od course its not mis tier. Only those ignorant low tier lesser beings say its midtier garbage and slower than 4050 or some say 3050. Some clarification here: M3pro 12/18 = 5950x and single threaded faster than a 14900K. GPU = 130w uv 4060m Spec2017🙏, cinebech is dogshit

I have M1 Macbook air, 14" M1 Macbook pro and 16" M3max. My base M1 Pro is fine for most tasks but when it comes to rendering and GPU heavy, M3 max kicks and worth every penny. It's near 3090 rendering. Zero performance loss on battery.
I read this somewhere. If you're confused about getting a max vs a pro chip then it's usually because you have'nt reached a max level workflow. So a pro should get you were you desire to go. Hope this helps.
Very logical. Kinda aligns with the “don’t know what you’re missing”. Meaning you haven’t explored the capacity of a device. Once one has, they can easily spot what they need. Went through that with videography stuff recently, as I began to experience limitations on hardware. Thanks for watching, your input is helpful!
100% true, start with m3 pro and only get max if you need it (PC gamer/IT support guy perspective) you’ll know if you need it, you won’t be watching vids like this for any other reason than to see price for performance and comparisons in other traits, don’t pursue performance superiority unless the norm is not enough, it’s really that simple. Similarly, if the norm is too much, downgrade! Get an Air, even an M1 Air is bound to become a favorite laptop for a lot of people if they buy one.
I just ordered a M3 Pro 14” MacBook Pro in Space Black with 18GB Ram and 512GB SSD. Finally upgrading from my early 2015 13” MacBook Pro with Intel i5 8GB Ram and 128GB SSD.
@@alec.js_ everything is going great. The only thing is I find ever since the second or third time I charged it, it doesn’t seem to be getting the battery life it should or what I thought it would get.
I have the same model from 2015 and it’s starting to get extremely hot and slow down sometimes due to the limited Ram. How noticeable is the upgrade? Otherwise my 9 year old MBP outperforms my windows laptop that’s 2 years old all day everyday it’s crazy.
@@09civsi my 2015 was performing very well for its age as well. There is definitely a noticeable difference in battery life, display quality and speed.
I really appreciate your authentic approach in this video. No clickbait. No yelling and excitement and crazy transitions. The B-role was beautifully shot and the tone is soft without feeling boring. Your demeanor and delivery of useful and original information kept me engaged. It was a pleasant video that was obviously personal to you and I recognized that immediately. Keep this up! I definitely think this approach to tech reviews is missing in the mainstream. It's clear you value the product you purchased enough to review it fairly. It's not just 'another year, another computer'. I think that value translates well to more of your audience than you may realize. This felt REAL. I'm here for it.
Thanks. Feedback like this keeps me going. I really appreciate it, I’m glad someone can see what I’m doing and where I hope to be. Everything you said is what I want to convey. So that means the world.
I’ve watched so many videos for the m3 pro, m2 pro, and m1 pro. Your video was the best one I’ve watched. I don’t care about the benchmarks or the seconds of differences between transfer speeds or exporting speeds or rendering speeds. I just want it to do everything I need it to do without any problems. Thanks for the video, I’m definitely going for the m3 pro base model. So happy to see it’s on Apple certified refurbished for $300 off.
You’ve gained a subscriber. Piece of feedback: try and limit the cuts in your face video sequences. They are quite jarring and amateurish. If you notice, MKBD’s shots are almost always 100% continuous. Your writing and videography kept me engaged though, so good work.
I agree. Very nice suggestion. I see what you mean completely. Never actually considered that until this comment. But I think it’s an important distinction. Crazy how many things editors do that go unnoticed, until you’re the one who has to put intent behind everything. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks even more for contributing. @@alec.js_ Just subscribed to your channel. I got an M3 Pro coming from an M2 Pro and you were spot on 100% with everything you said. I'm excited to watch and learn more from your videos in the future. I love your honesty - very down-to-earth! One of the best tech channels out here for sure!
I love my M3 Pro MBP. Especially coming from my intel 2020 MBP. While I would have loved to go ham on RAM, 18 GB isn’t too shabby. As far as the SSD, 1TB is a non negotiable for me on any MacOS machine at this point.
I went with a base spec 18/512 14" Space Black M3 Pro MacBook Pro. I don't do any CPU/GPU intensive tasks and could've gone with an M2 or M3 MacBook Air, but I wanted the better display, better speakers, more ports, and Space Black color. Coming from an M1 MacBook Air, this feels like a nice upgrade for those features. I don't notice much of any difference in performance for day to day work flow.
Agreed, I love my m3 pro 11/14 core chip. I’m a newly videographer and photographer but I’m rendering 4k vids with Adobe affects and color grading seamlessly.
Great video man, I genuinely thought you had at least 100k subs or something, keep it up you'll get there soon! Just purchased the M3 Pro 14 inch with 12 core CPU and 18 core GPU, 1TB, it gets here tomorrow, I'm so hyped!
I did a lot of research prior to purchasing my M3 Pro. In general, I tend to buy mid-level to slightly better than mid-level offerings. After all my research, I decided to get the M3 Pro with 36 GB RAM and 1TB of storage. It seemed like the best value for the features available. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase. I should be good with this purchase for another 5 years.
The way I look at it is that more performance should last you longer. Thing is if I can afford it and if not then theres no shame with going one step below. These machines are insane. I purchased the m2 15 inch MBA with 16GB/512GB because I know for sure that 8GB of ram wont last as long as I want it to. The 512GB of storage is nice but I could make 256GB work
I am getting mine in few days!! M3 Max 16'' I would love to maximize my performance! Before it was machine bottlenecks, now my productivity is on my neck!
@@alec.js_ Yes! This is huge! I'm very lucky indeed to be able to purchase it. I can hardly wait to create infinite, scalable vector drawings and so much more! Keep up the great work bro! Thank you for sharing your experience.
I know I don’t really all the power of the m3 Pro chip, but I couldn’t pass a price of $1500 instead of $2k. I figured it will take me for a longer time before my next laptop.
Insane. I had a dell xps with an rtx 2060. It would drain battery WHILE plugged in. And still wasn’t anywhere near the max in performance. The performance on the max is unbelievable. Both in efficiency and raw power. Thanks for watching!

Wow! That’s a better breakdown than I did! I agree. Love the 14 inch form factor too. I have the 16. But came from a m1 14. And really loved its power AND portability. The 16 is nice, but not for everyone. I almost always recommend the 14. Because it’s a perfect size for most people. I have never heard the fan on this machine. @@tevindowneyThe 16” M3 Pro I bought was Space Black. I hated it because it shows fingerprints, dust, and smudges like crazy. I think Space Gray is a much better color. Since I could only choose between Silver and Space Black (M3 Pro’s only two options), I went with Silver which I also don’t like. It shows the least amount of fingerprints and scratches, but I think it looks like an inexpensive kids toy. Even though the Space Black M3 Pro 14 is a messy device that constantly needs cleaning, I would take it over Silver. Regardless of the color you pick… it’s an amazing device.
Thanks for your insight. I was thinking of going high end M3 Macbook pro. I personally think having more power performance on a mac is good. I rather have it, not need it, than need it and not have it. Cause high end software will be knocking at my door and my mac will be able to handle it. Yea!. I am going to call it" MAC PREPPER", I think it sounds good. Thanks again for the info. can be
Mac Prepper. Hahaha. Love it. An apocalyptic way of saying future proofing. You can’t really go wrong ultimately. To me the only thing is to get enough ram. Everything else is just so good, the pro, the max. Pick either way, you’ll be set for the next several generations. Thanks for watching!
Good video, but to be honest is any one else sick and tired of every Mac review for “pro” usage is video editing. How many people in the comments and watching actually are doing that sort of stuff. Tell me how does it perform when you have 20 plus tabs open, mail, messages calendar a few word docs and fell spreadsheets 10-20 pdfs in preview, maybe one or two in adobe open, and a VM of windows 11 loaded up. That to me is real “pro” usage, ie you have a real world job, that requires you to be able to quickly and efficiently crank out the paperwork, emails, scheduling and meeting in the few hours that you get in the actual office when not running around from appointment to appointment and running a business. Just sick of TH-camrs reviewing computers based on how well they work for them based on being apart of one small niche of the population.
Hmm. Pretty good idea! I’m the worst about chrome tabs. The m3 pro is great there. I mostly use the laptop for that kind of productivity anyways. Maybe I can set up some real world tests for average users to get some perspective.
The amount of people talking about the longevity of the M1 pro chip actually makes me want the M3 Max chip anyway because I feel like the longevity of an M3 Max chip will be outstanding. The more reviews I watch shows that an M3 Max will end up being overpowered for sure, but that kinda makes the temptation even stronger for me XD
I was initially looking at the m3 chip, but space black color convinced me I need m3pro. But I wanted a 16" inch screen. And when I ordered it I opted for silver. And Color makes no difference. It's an amazing machine much faster than the dead HP, similarly equipped, it replaced. I think if I were to do it over, Id double up get it with 36gb ram and 2 tb storage in space black. I can edit photos much faster with the MacBook Pro. Maybe I have gotten better with those programs. I find myself getting things done faster on the MacBook, because the hp had windows 11 and all the crap popups distracting me while trying to work.
Thank you for this and your other video. I’m in the tail end of my second year in school for a programming degree and didn’t even consider a Mac, especially since I’ve lived in PC land for decades. However your videos has made me seriously consider a MBP, as I’m also going to be experimenting with video production and AI video and code generation. Seems like the MBP well be a worthwhile investment towards that end!
my macbook pro got canceled after 7 days of not being able to get to it (i had to wait 2 months) I diffidently notice a difference in quality One thing I will say for the quality that COULD possibly be improved is the light on your face. Your eye seems to be getting a little lost in the shadow. 👍
For sure. Need a better secondary light. And also my audio is a focus for the next one as well. Thanks for watching. Crazy it was taking so long, did you ever figure out why?
Seems like you already are improving without having made the next video lol. It was a custom order and now we have to wait for a refund to be able to order again :/@@alec.js_ Thank for asking!
Between M3 pro and M3 max, which should I go for ? I do productivity tasks (photoshop, lightroom, video editing). Is there major difference between the pro and max chip ?
Yeah. It’s a real refinement. Max Tech’s latest vid kinda shows a bit more of what I’m talking about. Overall the m3 is better. Esp in areas where it matters most. It offers a refined user experience.
The older I get the less it's worth eating that second hot dog lol. I'm on the Pro M3 and loving it. It's running RE4 in all its glory so just need more games ported over. From a developer stand point I haven't noticed any bottlenecks yet and love feeling more secure then on my Windows machines.
I ended up ordering a Max this week because I wanted the extra performance cores, and the fastest ram bandwidth availible. I do not believe I will ever need or notice the extra speed of the max chip over a pro chip(maybe some time saved bouncing the project but that's not really important) , but the cores and ram bandwidth will help immensly with audio production in Logic pro. Running multiple 3rd party cpu hungry sample libraries, Vst's etc..all at once. Granted I will REALLY have to be pushing the machine to take full advantage, but i intend to continue growing into a producer/composer capable of needing that power, As I want to transition into film scores. I also plan to run this machine for a decade like I have done with my current macbook. The last few years with that machine has been a balancing act of system resources that I just dont want to ever experince again. I believe the only thing that would tempt me to upgrade in the next decade is for apple to finally make a touchscreen macbook.....and I think that realm will still be reserved for an ipad(because....apple smh). Therefore I spent much more than i planned but I believe it was a good choice if I factor in cost per use, and how long I intended to use this machine. I agree that you really cant go wrong at this point with any of the M3 lineup, and i hope this machine is what i need it to be lng term. Great video...Keep up the good work!
Actually, I think you made a good call if it’s for Logic Pro. I also think the max has a longer term proposition value. I really wanted to restore balance to the scales here. The Pro is insane, but is in the shadow of the Max. The Max is just on another level. But, should theoretically hold up for longer.
@@alec.js_ agreed! It's amazing to be in a time where we really don't have to worry about power anymore. I'm hoping to also be free to create Pro level work now with machine resources as an afterthought.
What size laptop did you go for? I just sold my iMac Pro and I want to have a powerful laptop instead and having it docked while at home. I’m also thinking about buying the M3 Max for Logic Pro, but I just cant decide between the 16” and 14”.
@@thedarksoul2104 I went for the 16 inch because I definitely need the screen real estate. It will absolutely be docked to my monitor at home for large stretches of time though. I went for the top spec max chip with 40cores....upgraded ram to 64 and storage to 2 TB. Logic really feels cramped on the smaller screen to me . I don't mind carrying the extra size when needed.

Thanks for the info, I changed my decision to Silver M3 Pro. Was thinking black as current one is Silver. I can't bear to have a dirty laptop...! I like your words "out of your way"... as Apple is exactly that. It is safe for the next 2-3 years and in case my requirement goes up than I am sure that higher requirement will come with revenues to buy a new device. Cheers !
Enjoy! It hurt me to see my space black a bit scratched. Really dig this color. But. Hey, if I keep it up, I’ll have the silver one too! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video, thank you for making this! I am graduating soon and am looking for a new MacBook to go into the real world with (lol!). With your help, I've decided on the M3 Pro chip. :D
I think kind of the question now is, is it better to get the current tier M chip in a pro, or a loaded up previous version max with tons of ram and storage? I think it’s a pretty hard choice. Vivid takes care of the screen brightness difference, there’s no hardware difference in the screens since the M1. Ray tracing is pretty irrelevant for most people. But, my problem with the pro chip of the M3 line is that it’s the first chip that Apple has actively nerfed. Less cores.
Apple is no stranger to seemingly arbitrary nerfing. Like external display capabilities. Wish it didn’t have to be that way. Most people who want price/performance will probs find that in a used Max chip. Especially when you are interested in higher storage and ram capacity. M3 pro is a total non option at the 8tb level now. I agree. I always turn off RT. Not worth performance loss. But I don’t think it’s going anywhere, so it could be better in the future.
You are better off with an M1 if you can find one in the configuration you want. Apple started "nerfing" way back on the M1 line.. They released with more cores then they took one away from various models to differentiate them. M1 is the most untouched of the lines though, especially if you get an original model. Best line of machines for most people, M2 and M3 were both incremental upgrades M1 is still the giant leap from intel.
@@sotonin I agree 100%. When I bought my M2 MBP I just hadn't figured out that Apple would do something like that. I still love my system but if I were to do it over, I'd buy a used more specced M1.

I agree with the premise of the video. If you REALLY need power, buy a Max from the M2 series, or an M3 Max if you have the finances or lack financial inhibitions. Otherwise, M3 Pro will cut it for most workflows.
I'm an engineering student right now and I'd like a nice ass laptop if I'm buying one for daily use. Naturally that led me to the Macbooks. I have my eyes set on the 12 core cpu/18 core gpu 14 inch model. The only thing I'm considering is the 18 gigs of ram vs 36 gigs. I have never owned a Mac product of any kind so I don't know how to make an informed decision on this 400$ upgrade. I know the swap memory issue is a problem for lower ram specced macbooks but with 18 gigs of ram standard I don't think its a problem. I do not plan on using this for gaming, it would be cool but that isn't the focus of this machine for my use. Eh Idk, still better than a macbook air regardless.
"Hey everyone! I'm in the market for my first MacBook and could really use some advice. I need a laptop that will last me 3-4 years and can handle these tasks smoothly. Currently, I'm using a Windows laptop for basic tasks like Word, Excel, and web browsing. Any recommendations on which MacBook model would be the best fit for my needs? Thanks in advance for your help!"
I would recommend any pro chip and up. Pick whichever one fits your budget. And for most people, the 14 inch is nice. Get at least 16gb of memory (I always up that to 32+). And since Final Cut files get large. I learned the hard way (but have learned how to solve for that). 1tb is a nice to have too. FCP will find a way to fill a drive. So even then you’ll just need to learn the software. But pretty good deals can be had on the m2 pro. That with a 1tb drive and 32gb of memory would be great. Again, can’t go wrong with any of them. That’s just my take, without knowing your workflow, the suggested laptop would handle TONS of work. And any chip works, just keep it 16gb/1tb and you’ll be versatile enough.

Great video !!! I am on the same boat. I recently got the M3 Pro MBP 16" 18gb/ 12 Cores/18 GPU Cores to help grow my channel, but have been struggling with the timeline editing. I've been getting better anda better at my editing so the timeline is harder to render for each change I do. I have been sitting waiting for changes to render to see if it looks good or not. At one point, I had to just render the whole video complete 4 times to see errors cause the render was just not getting it. Apparently it's the memory bandwidth that is holding it back. Is that affecting you? I just bought the M2 Max MBP refurbished that should be a killer for this, bus is more expensive and looks so dated with the color and just doesn't make sense. Maybe buyers remorse. I will compare both before choosing, but my heat wants to keep the M# Pro, plus price it's better. Any suggestions?
i mean get this i wanted the base model m3 pro 18gb 512gb issue was i don’t want a damn dongle so i upgraded to 1tb this was going to set me back 3k then again the 18gb ram was a bit risky since i do video editing and animations added 36gb so 3.5k max is just 1k away and i got the max i mean why not i buy the iphone pro max instead of the regular iphone it’s better it’s faster if you have the cash to spend just go ahead sell a couple of old hardware you don’t care about and jump straight in
I think there’s no doubt the m3 max is the price to performance king (I wanted one too). My statement was chasing price to performance isn’t for everyone. There nothing wrong with the spend efficiency there, just don’t feel like your getting so much less with the pro, when the real life usage of the machine will be largely similar if you aren’t leveraging the machine completely. Apple knows how to make the next tier very enticing. They know how to stair step very well. If you gave people an m3 pro for a month. Then an m3 max for a month and didn’t tell them. So many people would think “I’ll just save the $600 or so dollars”. You and I would probably catch it. Avg user. Probs not.
Mac OS natively manages a lot of that, so the Macbook itself handles that. The battery will degrade, but the chip is very efficient, so you'd likely have great battery life, even after a few years. Apple doesn't want you to worry about that, so they've invested a lot of resource in ensuring the efficiency happens in the background. You paid a lot for this luxury, to just enjoy the laptop, use that luxury and don't worry about it! Thanks for watching.
I’m contemplating on getting a 14” m3 pro macbook 11 core cpu, 14 core gpu 512gb ssd or a refurbished/used 16” m2 pro macbook 12 core cpu, 19 core gpu 1tb ssd for the same price
To me, I would mostly focus on if you want to carry around the 16 inch. Because the 14 is very comfortable. No doubt for a price to perf, the m2 is pretty good w/ the 1tb option and higher core count. I do wish I would have went with the tb on mine.
@@alec.js_ Yea that’s the thing. inch is so bulky over the 14 inch. I’d want it to be portable and more convenient. The 16 inch is just a hastle to bring around 🥲

For 90% of all users, regular M3 chip is fast enough. And I mean really, even for professionals. The amount of performance we can get from regular M3 base chip these days is what was professional level of performance for most users, just a few years ago. M1 chip, which is so much older, was already faster than ANY Intel MacBook Pro. So just let that settle in.

I would recommend 36gb of ram. Not completely necessary, but I think that gives you more future proofing. Regardless, the configuration you mentioned above can absolutely edit.
The M2 Pro is more powerful for audio as it has more performance cores and many DAWs don't use the efficiency cores. The base M3 Pro only has 5 performance cores, only one more than than an M1 air! The chips clock higher but the M2 pro will crush an M3 using Logic, I would seriously do your research on the best (By the way the best one is the M2 Pro with 16gb Ram for the money which I own and just bought at a great discount, put the money into the hard drive).
Yes. I was speaking very generally. So, the m3 pro would do very well for audio. And as a general purpose machine (they all will). Price to performance, the m2 pro is hard to beat for audio. Considering the max doesn’t really benefit that workflow. The M2 pro is still the king there. Bigger picture. The Max is the overall price/perf beast in the m3 lineup. But, that was my point. The price/perf war will leads many to get a chip they don’t need, and spend money they don’t have to. Just achieve a performance level beyond their needs. That has no permeable value to them. No need to arbitrarily chase the price/performance. You’re smart, you scored the m2 pro, because you likely know, the max won’t do anything for you, and your performance would be similar (actually identical to the m2max) in your workflow. In your case, it’s very simple. Get the m2 pro and call it a day. It’s hands down a great way to both save money, and get impeccable performance. Thanks for watching! You know your stuff!
It’s a default screen saver animation built into MacOS! It’s actually a relatively classic one. But I feel like it’s the most sophisticated one personally.
Hyping up Apple failed design to deliver a Laptop which can handle higher Grade Camera Codexes is a shame & the person to blame is Tim Cook. Yo bro I wanna buy a m3 pro for editing on davinci resolve and maybe some light 3d work I’m going for the base with 18 gb ram and 512 Gb storage will it be enough and I might multi task a bit maybe some music and TH-cam videos while editing i hope you’ll reply 🙌🏻
Absolutely. The only thing I truly recommend as a minimum is the 18gb. They are all pro machines. That’s why it’s a bit pricey. The m3 pro is great to edit on! Doesn’t break a sweat. I’ve never heard the fan on mine while editing a 4k timeline with some 3d effects.
Naw. 95% of average joes out there the M1 Air is the best machine for them. All apple silicon is top tier regardless of model. Air is the shining star in this story. Max has 2 video encoders, pro only has 1 so a serious creative is going to get max no brainer.
@@alec.js_ man battery life is so epic. Just epic It goes on days Draining in single day is impossible with my workload Battery life, display, smoothness and reliability Have make me so much productive. Like i spend less time on screen as my works are done faster.
Hello Alec. I like your TH-cam channel. I need your recommendation. I have a MacBook pro 2011 and some ipads. The iPad is the normal one (7.generation). I want to buy a new MacBook or macbook pro AND a new iPad. What is the best combination? Should i wait for the apple event in march 2024? Is it better to buy from a refurbished store to save some money? i have nearly 2300€ for buying a good combination! I need your help. Thank you so much.
That doesn’t sound like constructive criticism just sounds like you’re taking an unnecessary jab. That is part of a TH-cam channel’s business to have titles that will draw in the viewer. 🤷🏻♂️
At only 825 subscribers. I’ve had more comments than I can answer regarding whether the m3 pro will be suitable for countless workflows. Or if they should get the Max. Many fear the m3 pro isn’t the performer it is. That is the purpose of this content. To shake the ideology (without spec peeping) many have about the M3 pros power and that its MIDDLE tier placement shouldn’t fool you, it’s a professional top tier machine. It’s in the middle of the m3 and m3 max, but still many tiers above laptops in general. Sorry I misled you. Was never my intent.
Side note: if I believe the M3 Pro is insane, imagine my thoughts on the M3 Max 👀👀
im using the M3 Max and its really good
Od course its not mis tier.
Only those ignorant low tier lesser beings say its midtier garbage and slower than 4050 or some say 3050.
Some clarification here:
M3pro 12/18 = 5950x and single threaded faster than a 14900K.
GPU = 130w uv 4060m

40c m3max sits between 4080m and 4090m. Who cares if its slower than a 4090m. All these low quality people are obviously some obese smelly gamers who live at their parents at age 30 and never had a women in their life. It says everything
Hope it’s going well for you!

I love my M3 Pro MBP. Especially coming from my intel 2020 MBP. While I would have loved to go ham on RAM, 18 GB isn’t too shabby. As far as the SSD, 1TB is a non negotiable for me on any MacOS machine at this point.
Wish I would have went with atleast 1TB, you're spot on!
Plenty of power for that! Enjoy it! It’s a very nice laptop!
Great video man, I genuinely thought you had at least 100k subs or something, keep it up you'll get there soon! Just purchased the M3 Pro 14 inch with 12 core CPU and 18 core GPU, 1TB, it gets here tomorrow, I'm so hyped!
Much appreciated, maybe I'll get there one day! How's that laptop treating you?!
Yep. Wished I would have gotten the 1tb. But it’s still so good. Can’t complain.
I went for the same specs. It’s great and very quiet.
Love your videos! Your M3 Pro videos were the nudge I needed to make the order coming from an Intel MBP - looking forward to it!!
Glad you like them! Enjoy it!

This is an excellent video. I had a M1 Air (8/8, 16GB, 512GB) and loved it. I purchased eight new Macs over the past three months:
1. 16” M1 Pro - Space Gray
10/16, 16GB, 512
Slow as crap/not snappy enough
2. 16” M1 MAX - Space Gray
10/32, 32GB, 512
Slow as crap/not snappy enough
3. 15” M2 Air - Space Gray
8/10, 24GB, 1TB
Super quick but weak
4. 16” M3 Pro - Space Black
12/18, 18GB, 512
Monster, but I hate Space Black
5. 14” M2 MAX - Space Gray
12/30, 32GB, 512
Awful battery (It’s embarrassing)
6. 14” M3 Pro - Silver
12/18, 18GB, 1TB
Monster, but I hate Silver
7. 16” M2 Pro - Space Gray
12/19, 16GB, 512
It’s Perfect
8. 14” M3 Pro - Space Black
11/14, 18GB, 512
More powerful than #7 above, but I don’t like the color
The last one is where my money will rest. It’s excellent aside from the color. And for anyone considering the M2 Pro over the M3 Pro… Don’t do it. Here are the improvements of the M3 over the M2:
- 3 nanometer vs. 5 nanometer
- Much better battery life!
- 20-50% faster at most tasks
- Better resale value
- 18GB unified memory vs. 16GB
- 600 nits instead of 500
- Dynamic caching
- Ray Tracing
- Mesh Shading
- AV1 Support
- Much larger heat block
- Runs cooler
- Less fan noise
- Single core is much faster
- Multi core is much faster
- Graphics tasks are 2x faster!
- Speedometer 2.1 is much faster
- SSD speed is faster (4500 vs. 2900)
- P-cores are 15% faster than M2
- E-cores are 30% faster than M2
- 72.4-watt-hour battery vs. 70W
- Same 96W USB-C Power Adapter
- Same Wi-Fi 6E
- Same Bluetooth 5.3
- Same 3 USB-C ports
- Same support for 2 displays
Even when experimenting with motion effects in numerous layers. Insane efficiency and power. Doesn’t break a sweat.

Great video. I’ve watched a bunch like this recently as looking to get a MBP and this was one of the best. Simple and relatable.

@@alec.js_ You the man!!. have a great day...
There is a positive that the silver won’t chip like space black. Regardless the performance is insane!

Between M3 pro and M3 max, which should I go for ? I do productivity tasks (photoshop, lightroom, video editing). Is there major difference between the pro and max chip ?
The most important difference in the pro and max is the pro only has 1 video encoder chip, the max has 2 so it will always be king of video editing.

Whichever m3 MacBook Pro 💻 you decide to buy will be good for whatever you’re using it for
Exactly, it’s more than enough for most! Thanks for watching!
Awesome video, thank you for making this! I am graduating soon and am looking for a new MacBook to go into the real world with (lol!). With your help, I've decided on the M3 Pro chip. :D
Glad it was helpful! Hope you’re enjoying so far.
What skiin is that? Damascus dbrand?
How does it hold up to fingerprints ?
Dbrand triple black! It shows oils. But fingerprints aren’t that bad. Easy to wipe off though!

I agree with the premise of the video. If you REALLY need power, buy a Max from the M2 series, or an M3 Max if you have the finances or lack financial inhibitions. Otherwise, M3 Pro will cut it for most workflows.
Absolutely!
I think the 18gb is totally fine for most.
"Hey everyone! I'm in the market for my first MacBook and could really use some advice. I'm looking to dive into video editing with Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and Adobe After Effects, as well as photo editing with Lightroom and Photoshop, with the goal of starting my own TH-cam channel.
Check current status of SW optimization, M3 chips don't work well with Adobe and Davinci. Look for videos about this topic.

One question if you may … your mackbook the one you described at the end … would you consider plenty for filmmaking ?only asking cause your content it’s you talking most of the time ! I’m sorry if is a dumb question I’m a newbie and I wanna make a good investment…thx in advanced and to everyone who may add info …🙏highly appreciated
Any suggestions?
i mean get this
i wanted the base model m3 pro 18gb 512gb
issue was i don’t want a damn dongle
so i upgraded to 1tb this was going to set me back 3k
then again the 18gb ram was a bit risky since i do video editing and animations
added 36gb so 3.5k
max is just 1k away
and i got the max i mean why not
i buy the iphone pro max instead of the regular iphone
it’s better it’s faster if you have the cash to spend just go ahead
sell a couple of old hardware you don’t care about and jump straight in
I think there’s no doubt the m3 max is the price to performance king (I wanted one too).
Avg user. Probs not.
Just got one of these, but I’m wondering if you have advice on prolonging the life of the battery so I can use it for many years to come.
Do you still think 512GB is enough or would you suggest going to 1TB?
Most people should go for the tb
The Damascus steel skin looks awesome btw
It is the way 👀
I’m wondering if I get a
M3 pro 11/14 cores and 18gb or
M3 pro 12/18 cores and 36Gb
I’m a social media video maker mostly and uses premiere and after effects at same time with fvx
Great video, earned a sub from me! keep up the great work my friend!
great review! I too have the M3 Pro and it is a phenomenal upgrade! its a powerhouse!
Doesn’t miss a beat. Hasn’t broke a sweat yet. Thanks for watching!
I agree 100%!! You're welcome! @@alec.js_
Yeah, we kitted out everyone at my creative agency with m2 macbook airs, they are great, and perform very well in all fields.
Not gonna lie watching these video and the one you uploaded 5months ago decide to get a MacBook Pro m3 $2,139 a lot I’ll be paying for 37months $47.00 and final payment around $439.00 almost 3years gonna be paying for it but hope be worth it I’ll be editing videos and hope for for I cancel it because I did not know I was not sure 100% on getting it or not payment so long I’ll be paying for it but from looking at you last video of it imma get it again with the 18ram and 512gb so hope will be worth the long run and I’m also gonna be new to the Mac I own a iPad Pro m2 but I just needed more memory and just be better at editing hope I can get a reply lol thanks 🎉
I would recommend 36gb of ram. Not completely necessary, but I think that gives you more future proofing. Regardless, the configuration you mentioned above can absolutely edit.
@@alec.js_ not gonna lie I bought it today the m3 pro on space black 18ram with 512gb
@@alec.js_ so hopefully these last me long in exited plus uh I won’t open till December 😂
I want one. Is $400 worth it to get 36gb? or $200 for the 18c GPU M3 Pro upgrade
I did both. But they are all going to have a great user experience!
I got the 18gb version, am I still safe?
For sure.
Beyond safe. They are all high end laptops. The pro chips. Very high end.
@@alec.js_ thats good :)
If the M3 Pro would support 64gb ram and 8tb SSD I would buy one.
Unfortunate and seemingly arbitrary limitations. Same with the display stuff. I’m with you on this 💯.
Hi ! Awesome video. Would you mind sharing the lockscreen moving that you have on your macbook ???
It’s a default screen saver animation built into MacOS! It’s actually a relatively classic one. But I feel like it’s the most sophisticated one personally.
that was a helluva intro!!
Appreciate it!
I am loving mine so far!
Same!
Which TV do you have in the background?
Lg c2 oled
Great video!!!
Thank you!!
When i buy mine in a few weeks i want the MBP and some hot dogs!
Nothing wrong with a classic. Can’t go wrong!
Dope Video - can you send the link for the screen saver ?
It’s a default screensaver on Mac OS!
Hyping up Apple failed design to deliver a Laptop which can handle higher Grade Camera Codexes is a shame & the person to blame is Tim Cook. He’s driving longtime & loyal customers directly into the arms of Razer, which like Apple designs its Laptops in California & builds them in Singapore & not some cheap labor Country like India. Alone the Iphone 15 Pro Max is an absolute disaster & definite my last iPhone after 15 Years. The Samsung Galaxy Ultra S 24 beats it in about every Category & does not have every week a new software update just to keep fixing all the Software Bugs. Steve Jobs would be ashamed what Tim Cook turned Apple in to 😔
Yo bro I wanna buy a m3 pro for editing on davinci resolve and maybe some light 3d work I’m going for the base with 18 gb ram and 512 Gb storage will it be enough and I might multi task a bit maybe some music and TH-cam videos while editing i hope you’ll reply 🙌🏻
Absolutely. The only thing I truly recommend as a minimum is the 18gb. They are all pro machines. That’s why it’s a bit pricey. The m3 pro is great to edit on! Doesn’t break a sweat. I’ve never heard the fan on mine while editing a 4k timeline with some 3d effects.
anyone know the name of his keyboard?
Logitech g915 brother! Thanks for watching!
Naw. 95% of average joes out there the M1 Air is the best machine for them. All apple silicon is top tier regardless of model. Air is the shining star in this story. Max has 2 video encoders, pro only has 1 so a serious creative is going to get max no brainer.
We kitted out most of our creative agency with m1 airs. The only max we have is a studio for our production studio. You’re spot on.
i bought the base m3 model and it is doing wonder for me considering lst device was a intel windows gaming☠
Oh yeah. The base m3 is light years ahead! How’s that battery life in comparison? I bet you’re feeling it there for sure!
@@alec.js_ man battery life is so epic. Just epic
It goes on days
Draining in single day is impossible with my workload
Battery life, display, smoothness and reliability
Have make me so much productive. Like i spend less time on screen as my works are done faster.
Thats a nice skin you have on the mac. Were you get it.
Dbrand triple black!
Good video
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice video. But it’s a laptop, not a machine.
Thanks for the common sense review
brooo that skin in starting 0:23 it's op
Dbrand Triple black - its pretty sick!
No one said it was mid tier. You just needed a click-bait title and still only have 823 subscribers.
