Rocking a 14" MacBook Pro M2Pro 16GB RAM 1TB SSD - it's truly perfection! That display, the build quality, the speakers, the amazing battery life, the design. It's perfect!
Same here but 32gb. Hardware is perfection, hopefully MacOS is getting a little more love and bug fixes.
its so buggy@@Bear.and.treats
@@weirdcityboiTo be fair, as a Windows user also, MacOS has A LOT less bugs than Windows. I've only seen minor bugs, and not major ones.
Same here.
Yeah it’s a lot better than the new m3 because it has 25 percent more memory bandwidth apple nerfed it to cut costs
Great video, informative and great shooting and editing. Thank You.
I just ordered a MacBook Pro and was having second thoughts, thanks for the clear and honest review. And I love your desk set up
Good in depth review, found out a little of details I didn’t even know! Kudos
I really appreciate reviews like this that are based in reality vs over-hyping minor differences that the average user won’t notice. I need to replace my 10 year old MacBook Pro this year and I’m leaning toward the MacBook Pro M3 Pro. Your down-to-earth and very genuine style of communicating is refreshing. Please continue to keep up the great work!
i just ordered the macbook pro m3 16' pro to replace my 2013 macbook pro retina 13'! Lets see what happens, lol
Upgrading from a 2018 MBP and ordered a refurb space black M3 Pro 18/512 for $1700 and I'll be getting it Wednesday. Is there another model that ends up slightly better? Sure, but this felt like a really great balance for me. Still going to be a massive improvement all around. Had the other one for 4 years and could keep using it, but had an opportunity to do the upgrade so I did.
My 2018 MBP had to have its battery replaced when they were replacing my keyboard (yay those awful switches) bc the battery life was completely decimated. So some systems still have issues w/the battery being degraded by living plugged in. I do have a 5TB and 2TB external both plugged in to my system currently, and I keep World of Warcraft on the fast SSD and there's no issue w/the performance.
@@SSquirrel1976 I also have 2018 mbp, battery has 1000 cycles which is 5 years. I also need to replace my battery. It's like 300 bucks. I'm going for battery replacement over upgrade. I will upgrade once its 10 years old or when apple finally decides to go with OLED display.
@@XenogearsPS I’m getting a referral bonus at work that is 1100 after taxes so most of the cost of the laptop is covered. Otherwise I would wait. The battery was replaced along with the bad keyboard by Apple so battery is only about a year old at this point
I’m on a 8 year old MBP so I’m in the market now … probably another pro but 16gig
This video really helps a lot, thank u
Thanks for another very informative, unbiased video. I still use both an M1 Studio Max and a refurb'd M1 Pro MBP 14 and, like you, I got the laptop after the desktop. I've considered moving to a laptop only setup like you did but I don't want to take the hit on selling the Studio, and I like using the laptop as a second display. Maybe I'll change my mind when the M4 chips are released.
Thanks, you answered all my questions
Really enjoyed your video. One of the best reviews for the m3 pro for the 512gb/18gb version. I appreciated your honesty with your needs and how it was just fine for the specs you have. Made me think twice and decided to get the 512gb ssd and store most of my files on my external. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts and look forward to more of your future videos!
Good video pal. I bought the M3 Max recently, these machines are amazing lol
amazing camera angles in the introduction keep it up
Thanks Kyle for addressing my question regarding the drive ejecting improperly.
Thank goodness I have found your videos! The over-hyping of Ram needed has had me tied up in knots !
9GB of RAM for Lightroom is ridiculous and its always been a memory hog. Adobe really needs to optimize that software.
For the Thunderbolt Dock: I used a Anker 777-Dock which had a Powerbutton to start my Macbook.
Thank you for the update the amazing editing on your video. I have the same specs as yours, and i don't do any intensive work on the Mac, but I have it connected to a 4k monitor and I have 2 different profiles open of chrome which might have 65+ tab open in total (2 tabs videos). That does stress my ram and I receive a window to start closing some applications. I know this is an edge case and not a lot have a lot of Chrome windows open but thought i would share
Very helpful. Thank you
Nice review. I’ve ordered the clamshell mount 👍
I bought this exact setup as my first Mac ever at the beginning of February. I’ve used windows-based pc’s for over 30 years. This laptop is spectacular for everything I do, including video editing which can be 2 hour videos with a hundred small edits. I do prefer bigger screens but I am adjusting. Appreciate the explanation of the specs.
thank you so much, i was looking for a video with final cut pro playback performance on 4k sony footage, i was considering the M3 Pro with upgraded RAM as my workflow is quite demanding, this video cleared my questions on it
Regarding battery health - I’ve had my launch M1 Pro 14” plugged in its whole life and it still is at 100% health over two year later. The optimized battery setting keeps it at like 78% charge. I’m actually kind of shocked how well this battery is holding up.
No need to upgrade, I have the same. The battery life is amazing, the screen is great, the only issue I see is Apple failing to support the M1, I think there will be 3rd party support
just got the M3 pro. and i didn't realize how good it is. plenty for what its worth
After a month or so of internal struggle, I finally decided to get an M3 Pro and swap over from Windows. It's an amazing machine that I can't see myself getting rid of for a looong time
do you have space black? like the finish?
@@tevindowney I got Silver because it matches my setup a bit more, I feel like you can't go wrong with either color choice
@@Scarbuckks cool yeah i’m really stuck between the two lol. but excited to get the machine ( tomorrow). never had a mbp
I'm in the same boat. I have a desktop pc, i want a laptop, i'm between this and the zenbook. I didn't go for the mac immediately because of software, but i's seriously considering getting one for the first time.
What device model did you previously have?
Finally a professional review. Thank man
Really nice video about the real world use of this laptop and what the downgrades mean. One thing I would say though is that the high-end pc bandwidth you highlighted is just between the cpu and its ram. High-end pc gpus also have very high bandwidth to their vram.
Hey Kyle. I’m glad I’m not the only one waking my Mac to find the externals ejected. I was wondering why that kept happening. One of your solutions about having drives connected through a powered dock sounds reasonable, but when I thought about what gets ejected on my end, it’s also my LaCie and OWC RAID drives that have their own power cords. I’ll fiddle with the settings, but for anyone thinking about buying a powered dock, I’m a bit skeptical. I hope it’s a system glitch they will fix in a future OS update.
Great review. I got the same as you, the base M3 pro MacBook. It hits a sweet spot for price vs performance. The M3 Max MacBooks were great but if you don't need all that power, a waste of money. The M3 pro has phenomenal battery life and speed, and the lovely space gray ( which looks black in low light) is great.
I have the base M3 Pro 14in myself and it's great! Tho I feel like I could have been also fine with the new M3 MBA 13... but the screen.
I think you meant space black? I agree - it's a beautiful color!
@@Cofe82Went from the M1 Pro MBP to the M2 MBA 13” because the Pro was a bit chunky for traveling with. But I will admit, the 60Hz refresh on the MBA, still hard to get used to, esp coming off the 120Hz Pro. Actually thinking of going back to the M3 Pro MBP. Someone please talk me out of it 😂
Thanks for the review. I recently bought the M3 Pro 16-inch, and it’s been a game-changer. I use it primarily for coding, video editing, and some Unity and Blender work. The 18 GB of RAM is perfect for my needs.
This new machine is replacing my 2015 MacBook Pro, which was in a similar price range. This new machine feels like magic! The sound quality and battery life are outstanding.
The screen is a significant upgrade, even though I was happy with my old one. The blacks and color pop are incredibly vibrant.
Also, it’s great to be able to play Baldur's Gate wherever I want. The performance is better than my high end PC gaming laptop and the Mac doesn't overheat. I only wish there were more games.
If you’re like me and don’t upgrade often, this machine is a solid A+.
Man, your video just confirms that I’m just fine with my full cores M1 Pro, M2 or M3 Pro are not big updates, thanks for that.
I wouldnt be looking at upgrading with m1 pro lol
I’m on a 2016 intel chip, I suspect my socks will be blown off once I decide on a MBP
Your review was just what I was waiting for and hopefully it will help me decide if I want to spring for the 14-inch MacBook M3 Pro or if the 15 inch M2 Air would be a better fit.
It is always good to get a perspective from an experienced user.
Thanks for the review.
I was looking at the same two devices. I am going to pick up the M3 Pro today at Best Buy. BB and B&H knocked a couple hundred off the prices of these. For my thought process, I rather pay the extra cost and have more headroom so I don't need to upgrade as often. Best of luck
@@MichaelLefortS6this.
Plus the screen is way more beautiful.
@@MichaelLefortS6which color
@@bhawanigurung9913 I went with the space black. So far it's holding up pretty good
Pheww, I can imagine what a beast the M3 Pro really is. I use my M1 MacBook Pro 14" from mid December 2021till today, working/playing on it around 11 hours a day, 8/10 - 9 hours plugged in or overnight. My battery health is still 93% with 211 charging cycles. Man, this thing goes on for weeks with 2-3 Google Chrome windows ( 10-20 tabs ) each, 2-3 projects on PHPStorm which I never close cause I am testing and developing things, 2-3 windows on WebStorm (JetBrain IDEs are kinda RAM hungry), all the services, Outlook, Postman, One Drive and so many things I never exit while working with Photoshop, Lightroom, Davinci Resolve, just closing the lid and calling it a day. There are minuses but is the best work/production machine I have ever bought! Definitely going to the M4 when it comes out. Great vid btw
2021 macbook pro 14" m1 - 16gb ?
@@thenewyorkean Yeap:) Right now I have my main monitor connected, my mac to the right, Docker running, two instances of PHPStorm, 1 instance Web Storm, Data Grip, Photoshop, Google Chrome (almost 20 tabs), One drive syncing, Outlook, Notion, Spotify, Postman, Github Desktop, while my iPad with extended display plays videos. Memory swapping used 2.14 GB - Battery still at 93%
Fantastic review, thank you! What tols are you using to test memory usage etc on you workload?
Good review Kyle, yet strange title - it was in every matter what I expect from the new M3Pro. I'm about to switch M1Pro->M3Pro any day soon. Slightly better battery life, slightly brighter screen (I love to work outside), slightly better specs, new color. That's it.
No idea why you'd pay $2000 for a marginally faster device lol
m3pro 16' MacBook is my first apple computer. It is an amazing and relaxing machine. For 30 plus years, I used ms windows/ms dos machines. I wish I had switched to apple sooner.
Congrats! What kind of specs did you get? I'm about to make the first time switch from PC to Mac too :) Still debating the 16'" and 14" and still debating RAM/SSD.
@@bflyleo Same here! I'm going with the 14" M3pro with base storage & ram, it really is much better to go base spec and buy external SSDs for cheaper especially if you're on a budget. The only thing I would say is you can't upgrade the RAM later on, so if you know you need that definitely prioritise that.
how do you like the finish? picking up this bad boy tmrw but am going back and forth between space black and silver…
I had the M2Pro base 14 in since launch, and it was an amazing machine. I loved the battery and power for multiple work flows including productivity, Windows 11VMs, and some very light 1080 /4KVideo projects. The only thing I would have changed was increasing the ram from 16 to 32. I tried out the M3pro 14 base…. Minimal performance difference, but definitely seemed to have some battery benefitsonly. I ultimately went to the base M3max 14” for the 36 GB RAM and 1TB. Best decision I made. I can see the difference in all my workflows. If you have an M2 machine, keep it until M4 comes out or have money to burn for a higher tier system (ie M2 =>M3pro)
That's the machine I've landed on while I'm waiting for an M3 Studio ;)
writing this message on my brand new M3 Max MacBook Pro! Love everything about it! kinda regretting not going with the black now though... thought it would show scratches and whatnot very easily but look like apple has it figured out like usual, but you can't ever go wrong with a sexy silver MacBook in my opinion
A lot of reviews that I’ve seen is of someone saying “here I have the maxed out M3 MacBook Pro, but you totally don’t need this!”
But it’s hard to believe when they themselves haven’t used the base model as their main laptop
Your review has made me reconsider what sort of laptop I should get later on when I am ready to.
An excellent review, I feel like I learnt a couple things :)
I switched out my MacBook Pro M3 Pro for a Mac Studio I got for the same $1799 sale price and would never go back to the MacBook or recommend it over my Mac Studio unless you need the portable form factor. 18gb UM vs 32gb UM is not even a close comparison for me. Just did the 1K thumbs up for this video.
hey man, ran into your vid and like it. I currently have the 2021 M1 MacBook Pro 14" 1TB ssd 16GB Memory 10CPU and 16GPU (was on sale at best buy) I wanted to upgraded (mainly for that black) or should I stick with this? is there really any noticeable difference at all? are the speakers a downgrade? is it something noticable (which I love on my M1 mine by the way) or maybe just wait it out? I'd love to get a feed back if possible! thanks in advance
btw im in school and programming and that's one of the main thing that caught my attention!
For the closed MacBook power button issue, just use a Dell WD docking station as there is a power button on the dock itself and you can press it and the computer will interpret it as the same as pressing your physical power button on the laptop itself. Hope that helps!
Thank you! I was about to buy a Dell WD docking station and this information is super to know!!!
You have a external display connect to the dock?
I tried a dell docking and the Macbook was charged but doesn't recognize the display
Been using MBP M3 Pro base model for a month now, i'd say it checks all the boxes for what i need as a video producer by profession!
when working with multiple layers does it playback smoothly?
Yeah same doubt on 4k video editing
very smooth! although I can only speak on prores rather than h264/h265. I edit 6.2k prores and it's super smooth. However, I would imagine 4k h265 would very smooth as well! @@sergiodanylyuk1957
@@sergiodanylyuk1957 Yes most of the time, it drops a lil bit if youre using mogarts, what i usually do is i close most of the apps except adobe apps, to get the most performance
@@sergiodanylyuk1957 good question
Kyle, how is the drive in your HyperDrive enclosure holding the temperatures under load? Mine Samsung 980 Pro in HyperDrive enclosure hovers around 55-60*C which is a bit worrying to me.
I have a maxed out 14” and had total hardware failure with no explanation from Apple other than a motherboard replacement. That was within a week of ownership.
Other than that it’s been running stable, quiet, and is quite powerful. I also own a studio M1 ultra that is also maxed. This feels a touch faster than that. Which is insane!
I would like to see the option for an cfexpress slot vs a classic as card.
wtf
Question -
Do you use PC + Laptop? Or just Laptop and plug to monitor? Thanks
Is there a chance Apple will increase RAM memory for the next m4 pro macbook binned version? For example, from 18gb to 24gb binned option m3 pro macbook pro? Awesome video btw!!
Love your review! I upgraded from an Intel 2019 15 inch MacBook Pro and even though that MBP was great, this M3 Pro MacBook Pro is incredible! I have the 16 inch with 36GB Ram. Love it.
I think the Intel-based Macbook Pro is very noisy and get hot easily when compared with M3 pro as I am suffering from the heat and noise now.
Yeah... don't listen to idiots who say leaving it plugged in is bad for it. That's absolute nonsense. Most of the time my main macbook is plugged in. 99.9%. It's battery health is great. Gone are the days of it being bad, manufacturers have fixed that issue with smart charging.
Macs don't need to be shut down for sure. I do the same. it's always plugged in and always on. just hit key on keyboard and it wakes up
Thanks for the (timely) video. I was seriously looking at the following configuration of the M3 Pro:
12-core CPU
18-core GPU
18GB Unified Memory
1TB SSD Storage
Now, after seeing this video, looks like I might be better off with what you are using and I can use the remaining cash on buying keyboard, mouse and extra storage.😊
Where can I find the wallpaper you have?
I’m replacing my 2020 M1 MBP (yes, with the Touch Bar) with this. Can’t wait!
I agree with all the main points, and don't disagree with anything. I bought the same base model in early December moving up from an M1 Mac Mini, base model but with the 256Gb Drive. That's been the primary point: I don't know if anything still comes with 256 anymore, but for my mix of software development, video production, graphics and 3D work, the machine is 100% fine. So was the Mini, mostly, but the drive was too small. My question was, would the 512 do the job, and it does. I have another 2.5Tb of external SSD storage that is dramatically less fast than the internal drive, but I have enough space inboard to do everything in a current projects folder, and I migrate projects to the externals when their priority for fast performance lowers - making followup edits etc. Even so, the USB-C speeds to the externals is rarely a problem.
I did however, buy it in silver; the black just seemed like a pain in the ass, and the silver is classic Mac. And I figure it lowers the chances of being grabbed from a cafe table if there's a black one nearby....
Would you say this should run adobe photoshop & premiere pro? & with fan noise, how loud or is it quiet-ish? Keep in mind I’m speaking for the M3 Pro 14 inch Pro.
Or is the M2 Max 14 inch Pro better?
I just bought one and I’m pleased with it, love the OS. I think these laptops are way too expensive to keep buying, but are fine if it’s your first one. I’ve always used windows, recently started getting back into photography & have a iPad and iPhone; that’s why I decided to purchase one. Macs are great for art and such. Runs photoshop and Lightroom like a champ. Bought the model that future proofs my needs
14 inch M3 MacBook Pro

What is the app you are using to check your RAM?
I have the M2 Pro MacBook Pro 14-inch, and I have to say. these are fantastic machines. Truly special what you get in one package with the strength these machines contain. Have a good day and enjoy your machine. There here to last.
Good job!
Can you please describe your workflows a little bit for a better understanding of internal SSD storage use?
How much space do you have left and is it comfortable to live with 512GB?
@Kyle Erickson weird question, what's the brand of that cardigan you are wearing?
Amazing video! Really dig your content Kyle :D - what program was it, that you were using at the 3:23 mark?
it's called clean my mac! I am working on my own system monitoring tool though, although it's taking me quite a long time given how much time gets used up to make content.
I have the issue with external drives “disconnecting” even though they are still connected. Thanks for the tip of how to fix that issue. I think it caused a problem with my “Photos” album on an external drive having to re-sync. I have just over 1 TB of photos and videos, so it takes some time to re-sync. The first time it synced (going from Big Sur to Sonoma) it took around 10 days to sync with the Photos App shutting down several times in one day. Apple Support was no help in understanding what was going on. I think my laptop is configured nearly the same as your’s but it has the next step up in cores (18 cores). I was really frustrated in the beginning with the issues with the Photos App, but it seems to have stabilized. Perhaps I should consider an external dock but there is a limit to my budget (being retired) and the fact that I’m just a casual user. Thanks again for the video.
Your workflow is similar to mine - I have an M2 Pro Mini but am eyeing the M3 MacBook Air - curious how much of a difference I would feel
After watching this video, i decided to get 14 inch m3pro instead of 16 inch. I saw at 6:55 you were using system monitor apps that looks clean and neat compared with mac stock app. What's the name of those app?
Can you tell me if the Macbook Pro M3 PRO supports two monitors but having the laptop open ans using the laptop's screen as well?
Big fan of your channel, and yes, a subscriber! I have a very similarly spec'ed M3 Pro 14" MacBook Pro and loving it. I, too, went through quite a few "desktop" setup changes as you did, finally settling on tugging the laptop inside a shelf of a monitor stand. And in the core of my setup is the CalDigit TS4, chosen largely due to your recommendations. Best $400 I've ever spent! Which brings me to my question... what type C cables do you use? I can't recall the brand I got, but after about 4 months of use, with a minimal amount of plugging and unplugging, the connection is already a bit loose. To a point where all the drives would get ejected even if I move the laptop around too much. I'm guessing the connector on the cable is the culprit. But they weren't cheapo Amazon cables either. Any suggestions? Anyhoo, keep up the great work. PS, I didn't listen... I just got the iPad Pro 13"... It's that damn Space Black... 🤣🤣🤣
Got 14" M3 Pro (full) this Friday. I ordered BTO rather than get Max immediately (money it wasn't).
Why? Because, ironically, efficiency cores. My work (full stack web developer) uses efficiency cores much more than performance cores.
Honestly, I think Apple targeted M3 Pro specifically for people like me. People running virtualization a lot, using Docker, many smaller tasks running in background for which efficiency cores absolutely dominates.
And it fullsfills exactly that, perfectly.
My workflow means multiple Adobe programs running at the same time, in multiple desktops, with one external screen, plus a wild amount of Chrome browser tabs and windows. Do you think I'd be better off with Pro vs Max because of the efficiency cores?
@@RaeStanton2481 I used to work as DTP operator with Photoshop, indesign, illustrator and heck, frame maker too in the past. It went fine on old Intel iMacs 27" so there is no reason why you shouldn't be happy with Pro. Be it you, I Would rather choose 11 core version to save some money (you don't need bigger gpu performance, it has a lot of it for your workflow). Just get one with 36 GB of RAM. Adobe stuff is hungry. I bet you will be very happy with it.
SSD amount is up to your needs. I have 1 TB as it is enough for me. Choose wisely, those Apple upgrades can get you to price of Base Max easily!
I have the 12 CPU/18 GPU/1 TB M3 Pro 14, and it's fantastic. What I love most is how much performance it offers while operating in near silence. I also tried an M3 Max version and while notably faster, it was also substantially noisier for my workflow so I'll happily trade the extra power for a quieter system. Regarding the battery, I know Apple has done a lot to optimize health, but I use an app called AlDente to limit the maximum charge. Even at 80 percent, I can still use the laptop for hours on battery or disable the software for the times I need the laptop fully juiced.
Have the exact same machine. 100% agree, love it! Came from a 16" M1 Max and really like the 14" size. Performance wise it didn't feel like a downgrade.
@@jimtipton8888 I had been using Windows-based gaming laptops but never kept them long term because they were compromised in some form or another. I ended up keeping my desktop PC for AAA gaming while the Mac is surprisingly capable of running my old-school favorites, be it natively, through the Game Porting Toolkit, or in a Parallels VM.
@saturnotaku Hi, thanks for sharing this. Some say "it's hard to get the fans going, unless ur really pushing it. 95% of the time I don't hear them", etc. I'm reading mixed things. May I ask about ur workflow and in what situations it was substantially noisier?
One concern I have on upgrading from my existing MBP is upgrading all my peripherals; ie, hard drives, joysticks and cameras that use USB plugs. I am not sure if adapters will be able to drive all these devices.
Do you use a case or a bag when taking it out of the house?
If you're powering the MacBook Pro from the display, you should be able to turn it on in clamshell mode just by plugging the thunderbolt cable into it.
what program do you use to see memory pressure and estimated time for battery remaining and also at 11:13 what show/movie is that
That 15inch M2 MacBook Air still rocks right? yours is the 14inch Pro?
Mine is coming on Monday, great video, what’s that app that’s feeling you memory pressure?
Clean My Mac X. There's a link in the description. Been working on my own, but I put so much time into these videos I haven't got very far with it yet. Hoping to poke at it more soon or get some help with it.
What app did you use for the battery life
nice review. I will upgrade in 2026 sometime. hopefully m5 but would be nice to hold out for at least 1nm or under. just for fun.
Does the display cause eye strain when used for long hours(8-9)?
If I’m planning on studying architecture, and graduating high school, what Mac should I get?, I am thinking an m2 with 24gb of ram and 250 gbs of storage
What kind of phone do you use? I'm currently using a Samsung ... and wondering if the compatibility is an issue. This machine looks incredible.
Nice & Thanks :)
What’s the app that shows a bunch of info about the device? I.e. memory pressure
Planning to get a Macbook Pro M3 Pro for my accounting online job. Is it an overkill though?
Trying to decide between the Macbook Pro base M3 with 24GB RAM or the Macbook Pro M3 Pro with the base 18GB RAM. It will be used for animation / creation of content in 2D / 3D. Any recommendation?
I love your wallpaper; where can I get it? Kind regards
Where do i find the exact wallpaper you’re using here ? Plz
Great video pal and nice to have the battery plugged in verified as no longer an issue. Love the wallpaper in the video but I couldn't see it on your wallpaper link, is it coming out soon?
Another excellent video, mate! Guys like you, Patrick Rambles, and Mark Ellis are the cutting edge of new YT tech reviewers. I'm looking to upgrade to the M3 Air or maybe even M3 Pro MBP. Just waiting for Apple's March event in a few weeks to see what's in their pipeline.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate your support!

What's that Macbook Overview widget? Does any one knows about it?
Brilliant channel, this will be a million sub channel real soon. Keep it up! Great lighting, camera, editing and more importantly, information. Good work!
This is a great video thanks for making it. I have a Vision Pro and an intel macbook - the performance in Vision Pro is horrible (my M1 Max mac studio performs great). Hoping the base M3 Pro performs better for editing/coding on the go
Hey. Great vid. I am confused between this M3 Pro which has 18GB RAM and M2 which has 8GB RAM as base. The reason of comparison is I am getting a difference of $400 on Best Buy or Walmart. My usage is mostly media consumption, emails and sometimes coding. Will 8GB be enough or should I go for 18GB M3 Pro?
All is great, but your house is amazing!
😢 where’s the wallpaper was displayed in this video
where did you get your glasses from ? i want similar ones waht brand plz
I have the 14-inch MacBook pro with the base M3 pro since it was released, and it is the best purchase I have made.
It was my first Mac, and I'm an Apple hater, but when I saw the ARM M1 processors, it made me change my mind about the Macbook line (previously the series with Intel CPUs got very hot, and in terms of performance it wasn't worth it the big outlay unlike its competition), and I waited a few years, and when the M3 pro came out, I already thought, it's time to buy it.
My first impressions, speakers with brutal quality, screen with spectacular quality with mini-LED technology, the chassis is excellent, the battery lasts almost 2 days, it does not heat up, you cannot hear fans in daily use, and best of all, it is A real laptop, unlike the other PC laptops I've had, the battery never lasted very long, the performance was disastrous, they got very hot at idle, and the Mac is the complete opposite.
What's the little screen app in the upper right corner you're using ?
I have an M3Max and im a pro vfx / 3d scuptor. For 3d rendering forget it. There's Redshift and Octane (Not suppported well) and Blender cycles. That's it. Zbrush works well and so does Maya (although versions behind) I was very surprised to see the lack of pro animation and vfx software on the mac, seems they have targeted video and photo editors. It's a beautiful computer, incredibly well designed, just lacking dev commitment.
hey you german?
I had the m2 pro max with 96 gbs. I can honestly scythe m3 pro max is a significant upgrade, especially if your gaming + multiple monitors. My m2 pro simply would lag compared to this machine. It's a must buy for intensive loads.
What kind of stand are you using in this video for the MacBook? Looks sleek!
there should be an affiliate link in the description, but it's a humanscale one - I did a desk setup video a few weeks back if you wanna learn more about it!
If you had like an esp322 you could hook up a movement sensor and get it to send a wake on lan signal to wake the macbook up when you waved a hand and get a sort of seamless experience going on lol
