- 15 years since my last v strom ..i preffered the DE version as i kinda suits my riding more ,,didnt know what to write here ..all i can say is after three years and about 15 test rides ..some stuff being 1000s and 1000s dearer it just grabbed me and i kinda knew i were going to buy one ...took a while helps if your tall for sure ...but its bloody good fun in a huge kind of way

just bought one of these, lovely bike. how easy was it fit the oxford grips? watched a video of somebody fitting the ultimate add on grips and they had to butcher the throttle side to get them on
it wasnt too bad tbo yes they do have ridges on the grip undernieth that need to be smoothed out ..a file or a dremel sand disk ..either /or takes about ten mins ,,the rest is straightforward ..not a big problem ..the o/e grips will come off with compressed air if you have a compressor handy to use
Hey mate, can I please ask why you didn’t go for the 800?
i liked the de800 ian and it is without doubt the one to go for for duel sport ..light years better than the de1050...ive had a t7 and that was too heavy for me ..so i decided to stick with me crf300 for that job and use the big banger for touring .
I have the 250l and it’s ok for me on the lanes around wales but I’d like something bigger so I could ride further afield, maybe up the lakes and do some of the gravel lanes up there? Mate has a T7 and rides some pretty hard lanes around here but it’s to tall for me and feels very tippy ??? Was looking at the 800 as I thought it would be a great road bike and capable of some light lanes/gravel roads??
@@iangriffiths9930 tough one ian age old problem i couldnt manage the t7s weight so the 800 would be no better .but thats me othe lads i know are better riders and hussle them pretty well a few of our lot have taken apunt on the kove 450 specialist bike but cheaper than a t7 and way more easy for most lads to manage
...
