    Also wanted to add...TTTT was still several years from peaking in popularity. It would rank #19 among all shows in the 1962-63 season, opening up a solid Monday night block on CBS which also included I've Got a Secret, The Lucy Show, The Danny Thomas Show and The Andy Griffith Show. In the 1963-64 season, TTTT ranked #24 among all programs.

    I was completely fooled in game #3! It WAS neat seeing the creator of the Nielsen ratings.

    Interesting to know what the Nielsen rating was and how it worked.

    Game 2: I have never before seen such a humorless bunch of contestants on this show! I don't think any of them cracked a smile until the end of the game, and they all seemed to have such a defiant, almost caustic attitude in answering some of the questions. I wonder why....

      My feeling is that they were trained that way by the producers or whoever coaches and rehearses them.

      The real person has an incentive to clam up and not answer questions fully. The one who is most engaged with the panel is often NOT the real person.

    I'm watching these in order, and Hy Gardner becomes more condescending with each episode. I can't wait until he is permanently replaced.

    Joan Caulfield did not try to take over the show as Polly Bergen sometimes tries to do. Hy Gardner is becoming more obnoxious as time goes by. Kitty Carlisle looks great the way she is. A great laugh which you can hear frequently. Thanks for the video.

      By all accounts, Kitty was just as delightful a lady in real life as she appeared to be on the show.

    THE Raybestos Brakettes played their home games in Stratford,Ct. I should know which one is the real one but I don't recognize. She later became Bertha Reagan Tichey and was a fabulous player. I don't know if she is still alive. I lived in Stratford for over 40 years and never saw a game.

    In the second game, I was going to vote for #1 the whole time, until she said she didn't know what a ground out 6 to 3 meant. How can she be playing the game so long, and not know it means a ground ball to the shortstop, who throws the runner out at first base. Any little league player knows that.

    I wonder what an Italian haircut is?

    • @savethetpc6406
      @savethetpc6406 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Johan Bengtsson I don't even know what a poodle haircut is when it comes to women. When I first read the description of this video (before I watched the episode), I thought the contestant was going to be the person who actually created the classic style of fur-clipping for poodle dogs! I remember an "I Love Lucy" episode where Lucy gets (or pretends to get) an Italian haircut. I think it is rather a short style with bangs. (Come to think of it, Lucy's usual hairstyle on "I Love Lucy" kind of reminds me of a poodle, but I don't think it's what they mean by a poodle cut.)

      SaveThe TPC I take it back. Apparently, Lucy's usual style _was_ a poodle cut, at least if the image results found here are to be believed: search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A0LEVzOT4q9VqjoAq3dXNyoA;_ylc=X1MDMjc2NjY3OQRfcgMyBGZyA3VzaC1tYWlsbl8wMgRncHJpZANXWUtuYndHeFJxcXNKMTFqY28yT2pBBG5fcnNsdAMwBG5fc3VnZwM0BG9yaWdpbgNzZWFyY2gueWFob28uY29tBHBvcwMwBHBxc3RyAwRwcXN0cmwDBHFzdHJsAzI5BHF1ZXJ5A3dvbWVuJ3MgaGFpcnN0eWxlcyBwb29kbGUgY3V0BHRfc3RtcAMxNDM3NjMzMTYw?p=women%27s+hairstyles+poodle+cut&fr2=sb-top-search&fr=ush-mailn_02.

    What I don't like about this show is how they give little time to important guests or issues. The Nielsen segment could have taken up the entire show. This milquetoast-looking man has had as much to do with the shape of our culture as any other single individual.
