Sometimes a little detail makes me realize just how old these episodes are. Contestant one was a bellboy on the Liberte, two and a half years before the magnificent SS France became the French Line's flagship on the North Atlantic run. And the France, after being sold to Norway in 1979, was cut up for scrap ten years ago. Time will sneak up on you if you turn your back on it.
Either as of this episode or the one preceding it (with future politician Ronald Reagan), there are two more program staffers. One of them is _the future_ Joyce Weiss Stevens, another Goodson-Todman alumnus.
Notice how the Yankees players, full grown men, are called boys. They're called boys in the same slang and intention as was referenced the Harlem Globe Trotters of many episodes earlier. Boys is what male athletes are called.
