Thanks, I never paid attention to the rubber under the laptop and as a result, never thought there would be screws there lol. I was getting some rattling when I would type and fiddling with all of the screw's tightness fixed it!

sorry but there are few reversions of this boards out there, if your pin count for the jack on motherboard is 10 pins then you can place a HDD 2.5' or ssd 2.5'. if your pin count is 8pins then that jack is for USB components like finger print. count the jack pins if it is 10 then you need this: amzn.to/463w236 the title doesn't matter the only thing it matters is the pin count. we did get few same model laptops in the store with 10pin connector and few same model with 8pin. @@AashimGupta15 one antena is for wifi #1, the 2nd antena is #2 for BLT but for the BlT you don’t really need and antena if you use the headset or BLT item near the laptop. You could buy a extra antenna and connect and roll the antena inside the laptop.
@@uFixTek Thanks so much for the reply again. Just as un update, I bought the wifi 6 card and installed it. However, my speeds have not been great. I'm getting slightly less speeds with the wifi 6 card compared to the AC RTL8821CE wifi this laptop comes with. So there's been no improvement. Quite the opposite. I'm wondering if I did a mistake during the installation process. There were 2 antennas marked #1 and #2. The previous card was connected to the antenna marked #2. So I connected the new wifi 6 card to the same antenna (marked #2). The wifi works but is slow. I updated the drivers and everything else on the Intel website. One thing I've seen is that if I install the bluetooth drivers the speed is even worse. So I just installed the wifi drivers from the Intel website and uninstalled the bluetooth drivers. Any pointers on the next steps? I'm guessing maybe the card is defective? Should I try to switch the antenna from #2 to #1. Would that help? Appreciate all your assistance.
its rare that you didn't get speed improvement, does your modem router has wifi 6 in first place? aslo is there alot of wifi around your place?, try placing the antenna 2 on 1 and 1 on 2. regarding the drivers i test before installing any drivers just a windows update drivers, then test with manufacture drivers. im thinking you got a bad card, if above questions are positive.

Great video, i was looking for this!!! But i have two questions. First, the laptop has a 4gb ram stick solder to the mobo, that plus the 4gb stick in the ram slot are 8gb (2 x 4gb), that doesnt activate dual channel memory? Second question, if i remove the 4gb stick of the slot, and put 2 sticks of 8gb that would be 16gb (in the memory slots) + 4gb (the one solder in the mobo), it would be a total of 20 gb of ram, in this scenario, i would have dual channel activated? If so, i would have it activate just for 16gb and the 4gb are like if they are not there or those extra 4gb doesnt mess with the dual channel and just increase my performance of ram? Hi. I have a 15-gw0023od ity supposed to be upgradable. It came with 2 4gb sticks, I got 2 8gb sticks (Crucial ddr4) that are meant for this machine. I've changed harddrives, ram in other machines, but after I put the new ram in, the screen never came up, y tried your suggestions about changing them and I just put the original ram back in, but the screen won't come up. Regarding your question, ok don't worry your motherboard is lock behind non mem check, so what you need to do is this: power off disconnect the charger remove the battery press and hold the power ON for 30-60sec. plug in the new rams and plug in the battery and plug in the charger power on and wait up to 15sec or 20sec no more needed. the screen may flicker (just wait). and it will start mem check. @@uFixTek Hello Again, I "liked" and "subscribed" to your channel. I have removed the bottom cover and I can not see anything that resembles a RAM slot like the ones in the video. I had an older HP laptop and I replaced the battery on it once and it did have RAM slots. This is my first laptop with the Athlon, all of my previous laptops were Intel. I read somewhere that some HP laptops have soldered RAM and can not be upgraded. I checked my RAM specs as you suggested in one of your videos and it should be able to support up to 16gb. I took pictures but I am not seeing how to upload them.

My model is 15-ef1007ca, and i was wondering if its worth upgrading the RAM and SSD. Going from 250GB SSD with R/W speed 3000/1500 MB/s to 1TB with R/W speed 5000/4500 MB/s, and from one stick of 8GB RAM @ 2400 MHz/CL22 to 2 sticks 8GB RAM(61GB total) @ 2666 MHz/CL15( or maybe 32 GB total @ 3200 MHz/CL18+), will this give me a considerable performance boost? will my dual core and 4 threads CPU be limited and make any upgrade worthless? Which RAM speed will be appropriate: 2666 MHz with a CL15 or 3200MHz with a CL18? 16 GB or 32 GB? will the size impact the battery life?

hola amigo, no te recomiendo absolutamente pongas fijo su velocidad, ya que lo vas a danar. el cpu cuando no tenga carga pesado or algo que hacer se baja su velocidad para ahorrar bateria y aparte no se vaya sobre calentar. si mantengas su velocidad fijo, se va sobre calentar y se va danar el cpu. aparte vas a danar muchas components como regulador de voltajes. te recomiendo hacer un repaste cada 12 meses. th-cam.com/video/opy1JNzjtc4/w-d-xo.html incluso en pc siempre pasa eso baja siempre el cpu su velocidad para dar una vida mas larga y útil.

Thanks, I never paid attention to the rubber under the laptop and as a result, never thought there would be screws there lol. I was getting some rattling when I would type and fiddling with all of the screw's tightness fixed it!

Regarding your question, you don't need to worry about the CL, just get any brand and make , just as long as it is a "SDRAM DDR4 3200MHz" , you will be more than fine. the CL and stuff like that are important when you have PC computer and a advance bios, so you can play with XMP options.

sorry but there are few reversions of this boards out there, if your pin count for the jack on motherboard is 10 pins then you can place a HDD 2.5' or ssd 2.5'.
if your pin count is 8pins then that jack is for USB components like finger print.

the title doesn't matter the only thing it matters is the pin count.

@@AashimGupta15 one antena is for wifi #1, the 2nd antena is #2 for BLT but for the BlT you don’t really need and antena if you use the headset or BLT item near the laptop. You could buy a extra antenna and connect and roll the antena inside the laptop.
@@uFixTek Thanks so much for the reply again. Just as un update, I bought the wifi 6 card and installed it. However, my speeds have not been great. I'm getting slightly less speeds with the wifi 6 card compared to the AC RTL8821CE wifi this laptop comes with. So there's been no improvement. Quite the opposite.
I'm wondering if I did a mistake during the installation process. There were 2 antennas marked #1 and #2. The previous card was connected to the antenna marked #2. So I connected the new wifi 6 card to the same antenna (marked #2). The wifi works but is slow. I updated the drivers and everything else on the Intel website. One thing I've seen is that if I install the bluetooth drivers the speed is even worse. So I just installed the wifi drivers from the Intel website and uninstalled the bluetooth drivers.
Any pointers on the next steps? I'm guessing maybe the card is defective? Should I try to switch the antenna from #2 to #1. Would that help? Appreciate all your assistance.
its rare that you didn't get speed improvement, does your modem router has wifi 6 in first place? aslo is there alot of wifi around your place?, try placing the antenna 2 on 1 and 1 on 2. regarding the drivers i test before installing any drivers just a windows update drivers, then test with manufacture drivers. im thinking you got a bad card, if above questions are positive.

regarding your question: your CPU can handle 32gb, but you have only one dim available. i i would suggest replacing the ram in the dim with a 16gb ram, that's more than enough for most / all the application even gamin.

Great video, i was looking for this!!! But i have two questions. First, the laptop has a 4gb ram stick solder to the mobo, that plus the 4gb stick in the ram slot are 8gb (2 x 4gb), that doesnt activate dual channel memory? Second question, if i remove the 4gb stick of the slot, and put 2 sticks of 8gb that would be 16gb (in the memory slots) + 4gb (the one solder in the mobo), it would be a total of 20 gb of ram, in this scenario, i would have dual channel activated? If so, i would have it activate just for 16gb and the 4gb are like if they are not there or those extra 4gb doesnt mess with the dual channel and just increase my performance of ram? Regarding your question: YOU sure you have 4GB soldered on the motherboard?? DID you open and saw it, you sure you dont have one 8GB stick?, because its very rare, BUT lets say if you have 4gb on MOBO and two extra dim available.
in order to have dual channel you will need to fill the Physical ram dim with any ram GB combinations, 8gb +8gb to get 16gb and the extra 4gb that you have on mobo.

So if I want to upgrade, and indeed I have 4gb solder, I should put 2 x 8gb sticks in the slots without caring about the extra 4gb solder on the board, I would still have dual channel on. yes i would recommend you to go with 2x 8GB and nothing over that , because you wont be using more than that. unless you will be doing 1h 4k video editing.

Hi. I have a 15-gw0023od ity supposed to be upgradable. It came with 2 4gb sticks, I got 2 8gb sticks (Crucial ddr4) that are meant for this machine. I've changed harddrives, ram in other machines, but after I put the new ram in, the screen never came up, y tried your suggestions about changing them and I just put the original ram back in, but the screen won't come up. Any help you can give me would be so appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.
P.S. when the laptop is on, spinning away, the cap lock light blinks...

Regarding your question, ok don't worry your motherboard is lock behind non mem check,
so what you need to do is this:
power off disconnect the charger remove the battery press and hold the power ON for 30-60sec.
plug in the new rams and plug in the battery and plug in the charger power on and wait up to 15sec or 20sec no more needed. the screen may flicker (just wait).
and it will start mem check.

@@uFixTek Hello Again, I "liked" and "subscribed" to your channel. I have removed the bottom cover and I can not see anything that resembles a RAM slot like the ones in the video. I had an older HP laptop and I replaced the battery on it once and it did have RAM slots. This is my first laptop with the Athlon, all of my previous laptops were Intel. I read somewhere that some HP laptops have soldered RAM and can not be upgraded. I checked my RAM specs as you suggested in one of your videos and it should be able to support up to 16gb. I took pictures but I am not seeing how to upload them.

My model is 15-ef1007ca, and i was wondering if its worth upgrading the RAM and SSD. Going from 250GB SSD with R/W speed 3000/1500 MB/s to 1TB with R/W speed 5000/4500 MB/s, and from one stick of 8GB RAM @ 2400 MHz/CL22 to 2 sticks 8GB RAM(61GB total) @ 2666 MHz/CL15( or maybe 32 GB total @ 3200 MHz/CL18+), will this give me a considerable performance boost? will my dual core and 4 threads CPU be limited and make any upgrade worthless?

hola amigo, no te recomiendo absolutamente pongas fijo su velocidad, ya que lo vas a danar. el cpu cuando no tenga carga pesado or algo que hacer se baja su velocidad para ahorrar bateria y aparte no se vaya sobre calentar. si mantengas su velocidad fijo, se va sobre calentar y se va danar el cpu. aparte vas a danar muchas components como regulador de voltajes.
te recomiendo hacer un repaste cada 12 meses.

my upper trackpad is caved in, i have the ef2020 and when i tried dissasembling it, it was just adhesive under the rubber strands.
update: when i started peeling it back i saw a screw but it was covered by a hard plastic layer
