my god all these old tunes when I was almost a teen having this on my walkman lol riding to the surf 4 a couple waves, then off to the pub on the weekend to see Chisel live
They had been together nearly 10 years when this was done in 82 the end of 83 they broke up for 15 years early Cold Chisel stuff is brilliant, etched in the Aussie psyche , Jimmy is now 68
Thanks for sharing this. I have listened to some of his more recent stuff. I also follow im on X ( or twitter) now and saw he was recovering from heart surgery.
He and his family did amazing social feeds through Covid, inviting everyone into his house sharing his music with everyone. He also shared jamming with legendary friends and some great cooking as well.@@SaeedReacts.
You should check out their song khe sanh at some point. It's one of their most iconic songs . It's about a Vietnam vet after the war. It's a great song and a bit of an Aussie anthem
From the album Circus Animals which was the cover shown at the end. Look up an earlier albums called East & twentieth century So many great tracks on them
I’d like to suggest a couple of Aussie songs I find compelling. I picked these as both have good clips, and are about topics that are emotional. Russell Morris- The Real Thing 1969 (pick the one with the most views- better film clip). Russell’s voice is unique. Redgum - I was Only 19 1983 If you wanted to try an aboriginal song. Yothu Yindi - Ghost Spirits. No one on YT has ever reacted to this. So glad you like Matt Corby, Cold Chisel etc
Wow, just realised you haven't reacted to Crowded House yet! Dude, they're something special. Aussie (despite what the Kiwi's will say 😂) band that are just fantastic. You'll be singing along to their songs, they're so catchy! A few great ones (but they're all fantastic): "Don't Dream It's Over", "Weather With You", and "Into Temptation". The lead singer, Neil Finn, is one of the greatest songwriters. Simple, yet beautiful songs.
G'day from the land Down Under, can you please react to Jimmy Barnes: A Change is Gonna Come he is absolutely incredible singing this song, his voice is amazing. Thank you
I commend you on using the nzoz1982 upload of ''Forever Now''. The upload on Cold Chisel's official channel is poor in sound quality. If you do explore more of this group, I recommend the list below. Song titles, channel and extended descriptors are an important part of searching and find these videos. You will get the best sound quality from the list below. Cold Chisel - Cheap Wine nzoz1980 Cold Chisel - Flame Tree (Audio + Video merge 2023) Cold Chisel - Choir Girl nzoz1979 Cold Chisel - Breakfast At Sweethearts nzoz1979 Cold Chisel - Khe Sanh (Audio + Video merge 2023) Cold Chisel - You Got Nothing I Want nzoz1981 Cold Chisel - My Baby Austech Cold Chisel - Ita nzoz1980 Cold Chisel - Hold Me Tight/No Sense (Audio + Video merge 2023) Cold Chisel - Saturday Night (Audio + Video merge 2023)
Hahahah I can't believe how much ive been enjoying all these channels reacting to the music we in OZ grew up on. We had the best music for that era amd no one overseas had a clue about it
Love this song.. there song choir girl is a bit like this.. both songs are great. Choir girl is an emotional song when you know that is written about how a guy is feeling when a loved one is having a termination. Can you please add choir girl to you list Also as people have said aussie band INXS (pronounced in-excess) were also great especially when they sang live at Wembley. INXS did a duet with Jimmy barnes called goodtimes Michael (RIP) INXS lead singer was a phenomenal frontman many people compared him to Jimmy Hendrix. INXS was as popular if not even more popular than U2 and Michael and BONO were great friends and Bono wrote a song about Michaels death..also the INXS song suicide blonde is written about Australian Kylie Minogue who dated Michael for a few yrs. A lot of their songs touched on society problems ❤
Thanks heaps for the reaction bro, Cold Chisel are so good and one of my favourite bands of all time. Can you also Check out another amazing legendary Australian band called INXS “original sin” live Wembley Stadium 1991 remastered in 4k
So true! Nothing is forever. My estranged husband passed away February 29th and it’s really hard to know he’s not there for me anymore. He passed away from cancer and now I can’t ring or see him. 😢
Love me some Cold Chisel .. ♥ For some newer Aussie artists you should react to Reece Mastin , so many great songs to hear but Suitcase of stories is a great start
I love these official Cold Chisel videos that feauture Jimmy singing in is sweeter rock voice rather than his more popular gravel crunching blues voice. Suggest Flame Trees.....the original video promotion.
the entire album East by Chisel is epic I reckon anyway, also early inns , the angels, Dyvinals f-n brilliant song ( all the boys in tow) Hunters & Clloectors, The Iols Australian Crawl, Richard Capton, John Farnam as lead in the little river band man these are from my pre teens so much more but dont wanna make it all about my choices lo, but yea so so many bands
At the end ….. this is the Album Cover ….Cold Chisel…. Circus Animals 1982….. a fantastic rock album….. this album had everything….. From the opening track You got nothing I want, to Letter to Alan …..Bow River, this song, When the War is Over.
A big hit for Chisel, from off the East album. This was their first foray into more pop/rock and it became their biggest album. One of the great things about this band was that they were all songwriters, and many of their songs broke free from the stock standard formula. This is a good example with a guitar solo at the start and the end. Thanks Saeed.
@@SaeedReacts. Sorry Saeed...i got my facts wrong. This was from the 4th studio album, Circus Animals, which is my favourite Chisel album, along with Twentieth Century. Sorry about the misinformation...my bad but yes East was their most popular in terms of radio hits.
@@SaeedReacts. thanks man. He is a legend here the man can seriously sing. A few amazing artist/groups to come out of Australia to check out. And there all old school. Jimmy Barns, johnny Farnham, ACDC and SilverChair. Silverchair were like 14 when your hearing them 👌 enjoy bro cheers 🍻
only just stumbled on your channel, it's great seeing foreigners like yourself, reacting to Ozzie Rock, we have some of the greatest story writers, not just books, but poetry and songs too. I was born 73 and could list so many songs for you, but it be too long lol, a couple songs not many have reacted to are Mondo Rock,- come said the boy and Moving Pictures - what about me
When Jimmie Barnes, Cold Chisel or INXS came on MTV in the 80's I would stop what ever & watch no matter how many times I saw it before what talent
Timeless music!
I absolutely love this song, great memories! The riffs are so good, and Jimmy! 💓🙋👍
Great song!
Bro,seriously take the time to listen to their entire catalogue, unique and unequalled band. Love from 🇦🇺
Definitely need to check out more. Greetings from Belgium.
