For whatever reason nobody talks about Sony's streaming app (Bravia Core), which is included with the purchase of this tv along with Apple + (not sure for how long the Apple + is). Depending on the size of the tv, you can get up to 10 free movies to redeem in the app. Most of the movies are IMAX enhanced and look amazing. I'm truly loving this tv, hdr and dolby vision looks and sounds amazing! As for gaming, the ps5 now has vrr and this tv received an update that supports it as well as ALLM.
Definitely love to see a head 2 head. If you can, please show how they handle dark scenes. One complaint about the C1 was that it crushed shadow detail compared to the A80J.
It should be noted that I turned my a80 in for a C1 and love the LG. The picture quality is no different and you get much better hardware out of the box. Apparently I had a faulty panel on my first C1, making dark scenes horrible. The only pro at this point is google tv with Sony, but it’s not good enough to justify the higher price. Go for the C1.

I bought the Sony A80J about a month ago for $1799. I was going to buy the A90J but I couldn't justify the $1200 difference. I think with A90J it seems you get more brightness in the HDR and a little more detail in the picture. However, I like my A80J in the 65' its a great TV.
@@rv6569 the settings that you mention above, motion will have noticeable judder. What did for motion for movies was I set motionflow to custom, and smoothness to max, clearness to 1 and cinemotion to high. For cable TV I kept motionflow, and clearness the same, and just set cinemotion to low. The motion was improved with little to no judder. These settings that I mention here the motion was pretty smooth. I feel these settings will activate the X-motion charity in the A80J. You can try them and see what you think? This should be helpful.

I don't know about you, but I consider reliability at the TOP of MY list, especially when spending close to $2000. Fun fact....Consumer Reports has SONY as the MOST RELIABLE BRAND, PERIOD! CR has SONY listed above ALL TVs in EVERY category! For proof, check out their 2020 and 2022 "Buying Guide". Spoiler alert........VIZIO is the MOST UNRELIABLE brand. Just my 2cents worth.
Very excellent point I want my expensive toys to last. And I can tell you that the 26-in Sony TV that I purchased in the year 2009 is still kicking and ticking! The 2008 Sony PMW EX1? I still use it! Just had to replace the batteries a couple years ago.
What about black crush ? How are shadow details visible compared to VA LED TV (for SDR) ? I prefer shadow details more than absolute black, which is very very rare in real world.
Game that I would recommend is Uncharted the PS5 remaster @120fps! Incredible, I'm playing this on the LG CX - highly recommend. Great Video, Great Content, Awesome channel! 👍

Please put on the youtube news show "rising" which is on "the hill" youtube page. In any setting you put on out the box, their faces and background and color and the color in general is so off. Why does this happen? In lg c1 it doesn't happen like that.

How come when i try to watch 4k hdr movies (fury road) on my PS5, it keeps telling me "this player is not connected to a High Dynamic Range compatible tv. Isn't one of the feature of this tv is 4k hdr 120 hz? I'm confused. I might have to return this tv.

Well, I haven't run it to serious issues yet but the TV turns on by it self, today was the second time I wake up and it's on, also it has picture retention, I've been gaming on it and I noticed picture retention when I changed scene, it went away a few minutes later by it doesn't have preventing screen burn features like LG. Besides that the picture is fantastic.
Hello. I am thinking about buying the A80J. Been struggling with judder on my LG 55B7 for years. Can anyone tell me more about motion handling? How does the A80J do? Is it good with all sources? All your input is very much appreciated. There are owners who do report judder and owners that say no judder at all. It is the one thing i really need to be sure of before i buy. Have you experienced network connection issues? WiFi cuts out about once a week and I have it now connected directly to the router via ethernet and lost connection again yesterday. Annoying
Just bought a 80j...On the main screen it's dark(dim)...if I go to say youtube..then go over some of my content, and it plays the vid while not clicking the vid the screen brightens right up? This is out of box settings, is this normal? And some shows brighten up and most dont?
Upscaling is way better on Sony imo and I’ve had both tvs. Sdr on the c1 is horrific for it’s price and being an Oled. So if you enjoy old school movies, the upscaling is better on the Sony.
QN90A has blooming. Got to remember this is a OLED even tho its not a A90J, The contrast level of this oled is infinite so your going to get deeper blacks, More of a tighter picture. Solid option compared to a LED imo.. Just looking @ 5:00 timestamp. QN90A would look washed out next to it. Gears looks amazing on it to
It depends if in a living room or bedroom and if you're coming from a plasma ,or old oled or a qled i had the 77 sony a80j and i unfortunately had to return it, i cant stand dim tvs as ive been a qled user for years. 85 inch qn85a is perfect for me now, i hope that helps
@@helbevega it's not even that dim. Store room in best buy is much brighter no issues.. Im not a big fan of blooming so the LED is out. I think QLED has spoiled people thinking brighter is better but tvs that has contrast as a priority will always look better which OLED is it. NO blooming, Nothing looking washed out, No black mixed in with grey, Again tho yea OLED is dimmer but i think its over exaggerated on how dim it is thus ive seen a few games on there no problems and again stores like best buy their lighting system is blinding but still OLED pops with no problems
I tested the Samsung QN85A and that TV looks great so I assume the QN90A looks better, this Oled has excellent picture but as I mentioned in the video is good for a dark room, if there are windows or if there are lights around the TV go for the Samsung.
@@JoelsterG4k That could be so, When i look at tvs at best buy showroom thats brighter then anything their OLEDS sorta puts down the "you need a dark room" for it to be visible which i can see the oled just fine. Dark room is better tho 100% but i think some of it has been placebo effect and people following others. Just like the battle between contrast and peak brightness most enthusiast know that it starts with contrast but as time goes on alot of people think its peak brightness but when i look at it, No matter how much peak brightness there is if the contrast is meh or low its going to look a little washed out and it wont have that punch. Which is the reason why i like OLED more. Ive seen plenty of QLEDS even seen the neo led. They all look wicked from a brightness level but they all feel like its missing something, They lack Depth but other then that they look great the highlights of hdr is there Just my 2 cents

hello, is it true that a80j dims all screen when there is static logo such as football match. And has worse image retention fixing time and stutter compared to C1 ?
I haven't experienced the dimming issue with logos or subtitles but i did noticed the image retention and got a scared, I wasn't expecting that but it went away the next day.

It handles dark scenes much better than the C1 (and pictures are better too). Great TV.

Agree 100%. I’m never buying Vizio again (got my TV replaced 3 times under warranty, then the 4th one died after the warranty expired).
Sony is the Toyota of tv's. Vizio is more like a Nissan.

Today i had to replace 2 lg c1 tvs.. both had some stupid problem in the screen . Finally ive ordered the a80j ... ill receive it with in 3 days.

Upscaling is way better on Sony imo and I’ve had both tvs. Sdr on the c1 is horrific for it’s price and being an Oled. So if you enjoy old school movies, the upscaling is better on the Sony.
