Very good video AC. I love to watch industry switching. Mainline running is great, but to see where some of those cars end up, and how, is even better sometimes. Thanks.

Good job AC I like your local switching job video I love SD 40 - 2 is there one of my they're one of my favorite locomotives of all time very interesting Railroad good job man peace out have a great day AC you made my day with your video peace out
I enjoyed this video, especially as I can watch it on the TV since we had a visit from an appropriate 10 year old grandson who set it up while playing mine craft on MY iPad.
When the Delaware and Hudson was buying the line off of ConRail, they also wanted the Keyser Valley Branch, but ConRail said if the Delaware and Hudson wanted that branch they would have to buy the Lehigh Valley Line also. The Delaware and Hudson didn't have the operating capital to buy the Lehigh Valley Line, so it was then offered to the Reading and Northern. Plastic pellets are in the covered hoppers for both Mitsubishi and Azek.
Also NS owns about another 1000 feet from the switch before it's R&N trackage. The CP bought it to turn their Locomotives around. NS turned the north leg of the wye to accommodate the Fracking Sand Intermodal operation.
now THAT was an interesting video...........great job,,,,,,,,,,,,,a nice break from fast freights. don't know what the 3 knuckleheads didn't like about this one...........
AC, Great coverage. Thank you. I wondered where all that refer traffic was going and great to see a modern company like Azek being served by rail. It seems like all traffic destined to NEPA originating south of Enola is being blocked and handed off to the RBM&N in Reading while traffic from the west is coming up to Taylor via NS for interchange. This would also support the new RBM&N bridge over the Lehigh at Nesquehoning Junction. Thoughts?
Many.. The intermodal traffic to Taylor and a lot of the sand traffic comes from the west over the Southern Tier but traffic comes to Taylor from all points.
AC: Living where I do, it is not strange to see "Covered Hoppers", with spouts, out the "Dumpers". These cars carry plastick pelletts, which are melted and turned into strands. Those get woven, in other places, intoo clothing.
Do the rail roads actually move the cars on sire when they load/unload or do the companies have a way of doing that? Looks like here in Cortland at the Sute-Kote terminal nys&w has a switcher on call to actually move the cars one by one as they unload. I have tries to get some of that on camera, but they are on property where the "public" has no access really so haven't been able to see the particulars...:(
Some industries move their own cars, some hire the work out to contractors and sometimes the railroads do it.. I think it depends on the size of the business.
Nice video. At 14:35 is the conductor setting the brake on the cryo car? If so, why set it before it's spotted? Seems like it will cause unnecessary brake wear to set it while still needing to move it to its final spot.
Hey AC gave you ever run into trouble filming trains? I was in Sidney NY taking pictures of NS freights, not even on railroad property mind you, when a VERY rude railroad cop pulls up asking me what the #_+$$& I thought I was doing. I started to explain and he told me to not give him any +_-($&- lip. At which time I told him what he could do with his shiny new badge. Give some people authority and they turn into Barney Fife, smh...

No problem.. Thanks for chiming in, it's been a while.
A nice change of pace from your regular main line fare. Great stuff! Look forward to your next video.
Thanks Jay, should be one tomorrow.
Hey JC somebody should tell the engineer that they got a headlight out of there going to get a ticket LOL
I did, you can hear me as he rolls by!! BTW, he already knew!
Nice catch of Ex-CNW & MP Power on those SD40-2s!
Thanks!
Great to see Switching being carried out. I vote for some more of this type of Video please.
Thanks Michael, I'll certainly try.
Great info as always👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Some of this type switching is what I was used to doing. It would keep you engaged with the controls. I rather enjoyed that. Excellent video AC.
Cool.. Did you operate road locomotives or switchers??

I can't answer that question but I'm sure that he had his reasons.
Isn't the major responsibility for the conductor to throw switches not the engineer?
I was expecting to see trains in India

Wonder how far branch line runs & stops at in ending
About a mile, maybe a little more,
The engineer can exit a running train to set a switch?
Absolutely.. The brakes are set.
