    Going to be as you would say jam up and jelly tight babe! Can’t wait to see it in action. They’re one of few saws that run amazing even stock. 🤙🏽

    Just happened upon your channel this morning and I’m not sure how I’ve never seen it, looks like you’re putting out good info. Anyways I’ve got a 661 that I threw a weisco pop up in and did a little polishing on the exhaust and muffler modded. Seemed like on mine the mtronic never calibrated properly, saw wasn’t reving up or making very good power and I wasn’t sure what the issue was so I just converted it to a manual carb. Thing turns way more rpm than the mtronic was allowing and the torque it makes now is insane.

    Thanks for taking us along :) I just can’t stand the electronics in modern saws. Give me a flat head screwdriver over thousands in electronics and parts that then still don’t work!

    Hello Sir..
    On one of your other videos I watched, you were working on a m tronic chainsaw you mentioned that you squeezed the trigger and it went to full throttle and that you couldn’t shut it off.
    I’m working now on a ms 661c and it is doing that exact thing to me. I put in a new ignition, solenoid and fuel filter and still does the same thing.
    It starts fine. I can let it idle for two minutes and it just sits there idling fine but once I squeeze/pump the trigger, it 6:35 accelerates to screaming fast. I panic because using the switch to turn it off, does not turn it off. I have to choke it.
    Did you resolve yours or what do you think the issue is?

      Sounds like a throttle linkage/ carb issue. If I remember correctly the one I had was being repaired after it had been run over by a skid steer. The throttle shaft on the carb was bent and would not return to idle.

    I'm not against autotune/mtronic. I'm actually ready for the "open source/hacked" versions where the end user can program their saw to their whims. I'd say a standalone ecm will come before the modified big brands get a reliable backdoor though.
    But like the 261cm... and most of the early huskies.. i'm not a fan of having my proverbial limiter caps yanked to full lean and/or having to do the hokey pokey to reset it :-D

    Richard, do you have a part number for 2012 Ms 661 first gen mtronic carburetor, I have one leaking fuel when sitting from the Venturi. And is it required to have A dealer install it or can you install it and just perform a reset procedure? Found it WJ 140 A walbro carb, can I swap it out and just do a gen mtronic reset ?

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe all you need is a carb kit and a new solenoid? Regardless, a reset is recommended, but not necessary when replacing any of the MTronic components. Just fire it up, stick it right in the wood and feather the throttle if needed to get it under load for a few cuts. Allow it to find idle in between cuts.
      Mtronic remembers the settings of the last run, so with a leaky carb the fuel settings are going to be a little off. Whether you repair or replace the carb, it won't need to be plugged in.

    I like the 660 more than the 661 what's your thoughts mate

    • @richardflagg3084
      @richardflagg3084  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The early flat top 066's are my favorite. They are noticeably stronger. The 661 IMHO is better than the choked down late model MS660's.

      @@richardflagg3084 yea I agree with you on weak 660 cylinders, that's why I have a stash of flat top non decompression valve Mahle 066 jugs that I swap onto the 660 cases. 660 and 440 are still my everyday logging saws

    A lot of fuel solenoid issues on the mtronic carbs.

      The original black ones were very problematic. I replaced/upgraded a bunch of them. I've yet to see a failed white/grey solenoid. They are much more robust. Time will tell, they have been out for a couple of years now. That's good news.
