Hey Josh, your videos are very helpful, thanks for creating and posting them here. I have a question... how often should I mix new gasoline and oil for my M-Tronic Stihl? I mix about a gallon at a time, but often don't use all of it in one cutting. I store the premixed fuel in a sealed container in the garage where the temperature remains fairly constant year round. Is it okay to use premixed fuel that is a few months old? It will run the saw, but is it doing any harm to the engine? Thanks for your help.
I have a 2015 manufactured MS261-c with the M-tronic. I would love to know how would I reset on that saw? My sticker does not have the numbers you mention in the video. Thanks!
I’m buying a Stihl 261 (20”) from my local shop. They have both in-stock and brand new. Should I get M-Tronic? Or non M-Tronic? My first saw ever, I bought a piece of land a saw. Unsure which one. 😢
Id go mtronic because you won't hafto figure out how to tune the carb plus it's so much easier and always run greats there was some issues with the early models but the new ones are solid
Once you recalibrate, when do you need to do it again? Say I calibrated it and then cut some wood, but put the saw❤ up for a month before needing to use it again. What do I need to do when pitching it to use after the moth has passed?
This should only be required on rare occasions. If you replace diaphragms, clean your carb, such as that, you will possibly want to reset. Most of the time reset is not needed on your saw.
@@davepayton3442 thank you. I was thinking this would have been the case, but needed feedback since I am no expert, juts wanting to do the right thing.
Or go from 900ft elevation to 7200 back to 1800 and up to 7800 in a week lol my 661 freaks out a bit and runs like shit until I recalibrate it. You can run it and it'll tune in eventually but I'm inpatient
Is stihl going to make the ms400 with a full wrap? I understand you can order the part that fit's the saw but I just wonder why they don't make a full wrap version right off the shelf
I have 3 tanks through my saw and once the saw warms up the chain starts spinning at low idle. It is incredibly dangerous and gets worse as you use the saw more. I have recalibrated several times. No more Stihl for me!
I want the brake to work when I absolutely need it the most so it stays off 100% of the time. I only check it to make sure it works but it stays off if it’s running
Wow love Stihl pro saws built to last nice knowing how to reset it thank you so much love your videos

Good to meet you Carl. I am waiting on an ms261 as a first time owner of a stihl and I appreciate any info on tips and maintenance I can get
Very good . Nice and clear. Thank you.
I bought the ms- 261 with the auto compensation carburetor and it does great.
Great video, good to see and hear the calibration process. Thank you.
Would a new saw need to be recalibrated 8:21 from the factory or is it good to go?
No you should not need to recalibrate a new saw
Good, it's brand new l. 😂
When does it need reset some say after the air filter is blown out thats quite often
My stihl ms 441c has the m tronics carb. It won’t start after replacing the ignition coil and spark plug. Not sure what to do honestly
Did you figure out your chainsaws no start issue? Having similar issue on a 661c.

Do you do this process every time you use the saw when it is cold?

@@davepayton3442changed the bar length on my saw, now it does not idle, could it be m-tronic needs a reset?
Really need to figure out how to do this with a 500i
wife loves when i do this in the garage
Wait did you run it at idle and WOT with the chain spinning?
Yes, take brake off before WOT.
he took the brake off about 20 sec into the idle portion
No the brake was only on during start and idle. Sorry if you missed that.
Of course, unless you want to melt your case. 😂
Nice video l never knew that 👍👍
My is 2019 ms261c and it does not specify the version of mtronics, which procedure should i do?
There is an indication on the sticker on the rear handle.
Thank you
I have a 2017 stihl ms 362cm. Do you know which version of m tronic it would have??
No, probably v.2.1. Just try all three methods.
I tried all this but as soon as you let it idle for 45 seconds then give it Full Throttle it only runs for one and a half second later
Sounds like you may have a little deeper problem.
Good stuff
Thank you
Glad to help.

At some point yes. Just not a high priority at this time. Not sure why
362 wrap handle fits. Pricey though
Sound effects are on point 😂
If you need to tune a new saw can you use that method?. It goes against what they advice.
You should not need to tune a new saw

Are you supposed to do this when the saw is brand new?
No, why would you? It's reset because it has never been started.
Chaps shaps ?
Ms 441c
I would never do this to my clutch. Just take the brake off.
he took the brake off at 20 sec into idle portion
If your a women leave it on.

Good lord man, wrap your thumb around the handlebar! And that chain is way too tight, you can hear it when you let off the throttle
Ms201tc
Just sell it and buy a Husqvarna.
Yeah, no, Husqvarna sucks
They have the same system with there auto tune if your insinuating electronic carb is bad
Stihl ruined good saws with this mtronic garbage.
Got a hater here. I have two, best technology out there. 😂
Get a saw with just the carb no m tropic no fuel injection.Screw this garbage
