Poor saw was looking for a little positivity in its life. Flagg to the rescue.

This one is going to be a tall order to tidy up and look somewhat presentable.

Years ago I picked up a 200t that kind of ran...long story short it had some aftermarket parts and other nonsense. I refurbished it OEM and have about $1000 in it total. It works production and was cutting today 🙌 ...expensive but I learned a lot.

The Chineseium parts are good for temporary use to see if something will run. Once you've seen it runs just replace with the good stuff. I did it last fall with an unknown 026 a friend gave to me years ago. It was missing stuff and grungy so I bought some cheapy stuff to see if it ran. I wasn't going to spend tons of money on OE parts for a saw that didn't run. So Chineseium was the temporary answer. But since it does indeed run all the junk will be replaced with OE when possible. Luckily it didn't need a new coil because Stihl charges $160 for those.
But, I also bought two Walbro master rebuild kits for extra carb parts as well as going to the Stihl dealer and buying the OE carb rebuilt kit, the missing tank vent, an extra rim sprocket for running 3/8'th chain, sealing rings, air filter and another fuel hose. So now I have a bunch of extra carb parts that will be good for some of my other saws. As well as now also having two extra rim sprockets for later use once the current new one on the saw wears out. :)

I just picked up a 200t for 380.00, and with a few more dollars I'll be in to a reasonable build

Why do people do this? Haha I have a 362cm a tree co. Did this with. I know the top ends for the 362's are stupid expensive. I still haven't fixed it because they put all the Chinese hoses, top end, basically everything down to the fuel and oil caps. Its a nice saw too, sucks. Lol

Sometimes ya win sometimes ya loose with chinesium parts, but that's a whole lot of gambling in one package!

@@richardflagg3084 sorry, but remembered a tip for dressing bars. Use a marker and color the tops. When both rails are shiny, they should be even. Hope it helps someone. Take care.
