@@ApartmentMaintenancePro i get it but I'm not talented or brave enough to attempt without words. I am about to see if you have any dishwasher videos though so thank you !
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro Dude, I appreciate the silent videos, particularly simple installs like this. If somebody needs narration to help understand on this basic job, they should hire someone to do the install.
Do you have to cut the ground strap like that? If you want to preserve it could you just remove it? Or is the copper connection between the two white wires important??
I'm trying to convert from gas range to an electric range. But I'm so afraid my power will constantly shut off. It does that when too many things are plugged in. Is it any different than having a gas range plugged in for the time & oven settings?
Yes. Read the spec you will probably need a 50amp breaker with 6-8 gauge wire and 240v. Electric ranges use way more power than normal household circuits.
Thank you so much for making this video! Just had a question, my owners manual said to insert the ground screw through the ground plate and I noticed you didnt and I didnt add the ground plate either. Does it make a difference adding the ground plate?
Yo did I need to keep the power cord from my old stove to use on the new one? It doesn’t look like this new one came with one. Hopefully I don’t gotta go buy one because of my mistake
The video showed me exactly what I wanted to see. I have the same situation with the wall behind the stove. The slide in range you took out looked like a great fit. Why did you change to a free standing range? I was looking to go from a free standing range to a slide in.
There's no outlet behind my Frigidaire electric stove (~2006) only wires inside a conduit. I assume that I just disconnect the old stove and connect the new?
I installed the power cord exactly the way you did here (removing the bonding copper) and when the GE Cafe Induction range is plugged in I get a check wiring range wiring nit correct ! Any ideas ? Brand new range brand new house .
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro yes there was info for both in the installation instructions ! I have new construction and the electrician actually REVERSED one hot leg and the neutral when he installed the outlet so that was my find. Thanks for the reply and have a great day !
If a handheld screwdriver or drill can't do it next step up is ratchet or a wrench :) Usually just takes a bit of elbow grease though if it's being stubborn :)
Please timestamp the section in the video where is shows this is 30 amps. I know you can't because I know this is on a 50 amp breaker. Where did you see the installation called for 40? Please timestamp that as well as I don't want any comments that are misinformed. Thanks

I love it when videos get right to the point but explaining what you're doing would be helpful.

Nice and concise - no fluff - great camera work & editing. Well done and thanks!
EXACTLY the video I was looking for. Thank you!
I weep. You make it look so simple. Oh, for a tool smart man in my life.
Thanks
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro I deliver and install ge aswell and this lady ^ is like every single older woman lol
Where did you find the plug for the oven I just received one from Best Buy same range and it said plug included and I can’t find it anywhere
Plugs are usually bought separate. But if it said included check the warming tray underneath if not contact best buy
What's the yellow metal you removed from the back at 2:50?
It’s there for three prong cords, which are sometimes used in mobile homes

It’s been awhile since I made this can you post a time stamp??

@@ApartmentMaintenancePro 😫 great. I guess I'll just stay with gas until I can afford to have things updated
Thank you for replying.
@@garciay91same. Just asked this question. I’ll have to probably upgrade our panel also

best video ever. no bull shit. just work
Didn't realize it was so easy. Looks like I won't be hiring out for this!

New ranges don’t come with power cords (electric in most cases) gas usually do

Yes same wires behind there
@@scuffedliveu2401 Thank you!
U.K. electric cooker no longer come worth the wire .. what wire would I need to buy
I would check with the manufacturer

Is there a sticker or instruction on the back? 3 or 4 prong?

I am curious as yo why don't they come with a cable attached already.
Another revenue source for the manufacturer
It's amazing such a thing is allowed. Everything the oven needs to operate should come with it.
Would make better sense right
My electric stove is soooo hot it burned my cabinet and I cannot even touch the nobs!! Is this supposed to be insulated????
Sweet awesome 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Do you recommend a new power cord with installation? I was going to use my old one it’s 14 years
I would use the old one if the wire still looks good
@@ApartmentMaintenancePro cool thanks for the response 👍

How many volts does the current flow?
What is the difference between the 3-wire and 4-wire hook ups? Thank you
Newer construction usually use 4 wire prongs. Older homes may use 3 prong hook ups (United States) no idea elsewhere
The 4th is a “ground” and apparently it’s insanely expensive to upgrade I just got a quote and it was $1200
Why did you remove the copper plate?
02:17 4 wire setup per instructions 👍
What’s the name of that part that u are changeing mine got toasted please help
Power cord? If yours is fried you may also need a terminal block
Quick question, do all modern stoves have 4 prongs?
Depends when house was built. All stoves can accept either a three or four prong cord.
Why did you place that bracket on the floor in the corner??
Is it just for sturdy placement?
Anti-tip device
How does it tip over if it's in between the cabinets?
@@ChariDan-ed6me It's so children don't fall or sit on the ovens door when opened so it does not tip on top of them and injure or kill them. It would tip forward
so i can plug this into a regular outlet then?
The one I’m installing requires a 210-240 volt receptacle. I don’t know what model your using so hard to say
Some ge ranges can be 30 or 60 watt those require special outlets the profile ranges are pretty standard tho
Ummm, OK. Fine! That seems easy enough. I guess I'll do this tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing your experience..
I have a question please,.
What is the voltage rating for the RED and BLACK cords?
Not sure, it would be written on the cords though
Voltage between RED and BLACK is 240v
where do i get the cable?
Home Depot, ace, Amazon wherever. Just ensure the prongs match the plug
Man I salute you
I appreciate it
Would a 3 prong work instead of a 4 ? Or is 4 required?
Depends on if mobile home or local laws
Match the cord to the outlet in your wall. But yes both cords work.
All this for a stove? And you did better than me cause the last time the lights went out was the last time I set the time
Ya. I find unboxing new appliances very satisfying though 👍
A cuánto volt trabaja esa estufa
