You guys make it look super effortless and easy! Very inspiring as i'm planning to do very similar to what you've gone for.
Can I ask, forgetting the diesel heater, how effective was your insulation for temperature and outside noise / rattle? It looks like you guys were thorough - if it works well i'll aim to replicate 🙂

We use the van without insulation for a few nights and after with insulation and the difference is fantastic
Now it is only a few centimetres so you won't get the insulation as a house
But if you cover every piece of metal with insulation, vapour barrier and carpet it will keep the heat and make it cosy and warm
Then when the diesel heater is added it is just amazing how in 5 minutes you can bring the temperature very high even in very cold weather
      Good luck with your build

Cool! Very beautiful. Why did you chose not to install swivels for the front seat?

    • @FLORIANCHARIER
      @FLORIANCHARIER  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey thank you!
I think it make sense to out swivels seat if you have a rock and roll bed.
Saying that the real reason was to be able to use the room under the seats
We have the diesel heater, leisure battery, and control panel
We are very happy with this setup so far.
      I hope that make sense
      Thanks

For the back door safety bracket, how it is when the doors are closed are they in the way when you sleep?

Did you cut the mattress from ikea in half?
Once the bed is down, you can't use the water pump. Great conversion overall.

The IKEA mattress comes in a zipper cover
So we cut the mattress to size we wanted and in half and put it back into the original zip cover.
It means now the matress is protected and stays as '1 matress'
And for the water pump yes we still can use it but not as easy, but for brushing teeth at night we just use water bottle

We bought it in ikea and cut it to fit. Its ikeas cheapest foam matress and it was really easy to cut!

Why do single unmarried people need Double Bed!!
And you will need insulation underfloor as well as sides and Roof!
