I am absolutely saving this vid, because THIS is something my grandson, currently 14, seriously WANTS. And I AM GOING TO HELP HIM!!! If survive that, I'm doing the same thing for myself!! In fact, we will work in some extra space for an extra passenger, on occasion, AKA his grandmother! JK, anyone!
Wow, your grandson has a good grandmother. I'm 14 too and this is my dream to travel the world, make memories and post my traveling journey on socian media and make money from it😁. Just live a peaceful life.
Easiest fix: swap out the passenger seat with a bench seat. You'll pay for it (if you can't find one at a junk yard), but it will be Department of Transportation qualified seating.
Could I say you don’t know me, but I would like to say a very big thank you for being part of my life. I’ve enjoyed watching ALL your videos and you’ve brought joy into my life and helped me with my mental health. Thank John your dad also, he’s great I never had a dad like yours!! Please keep the videos coming can’t wait to see what comes next 😊
This type of stuff is challenging but at the same time really therapeutic. I love the moments after you've done something and then you sit there and marvel at it for a few minutes before continuing the work. Obviously the feeling of taking that baby on the road is really nice too :)
As others have said, this beats every other van conversion by a country mile. Absolutely inspiring. I am about to start work on my own van conversion - at the tender age of 59, with very little DIY experience. Thank you so much for your videos.
This is one of the best video conversion I've seen. You didn't ramble on, but gave a good account of what you were doing, including what you would the differently. I love the wood stain finish.
Your van build has been a blast to watch from start to finish, every little detail you added is just perfect and added to your own taste as well , you desire a medal for doing that van cause it hasn't been easy for you but you managed to press on without giving up , so you deserve a massive round of a clause for what you have achieved 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This has been a pleasure to watch right from the start, you have had some bad luck along the way but your positivity has overcome the obstacles, I now feel totally inadequate as I struggle to wire a plug! Relax now, spend some well earned time with your family and give us mortals time to catch up…
13:34 Pro tip: paint the cut edges to prevent water absorption into the chipboard. Also do this on any exposed (non laminated) chipboard edges on cabinetry. Do this carefully (where the painted surfaces are likely to be visible) with the same colour paint as the laminate finish. I would opt for marine ply instead of chipboard.
I love seeing people overcoming difficult obstacles. You gained a new follower here. Im actually an above the knee amputee in the process of building my own van out right now. Since im a disabled veteran. It gives me the financial freedom to do the van life experience. Follow my journey if you want. Its gonna be fun
To be honst brother, shouldnt put building dpm ground sheet in the walls. It will contribute to the Condensation .. best to straight up use the dado insulation only as it is designed to be the vapor barrier and becomes part of the skin of the van. Just safer in the long run.
A brilliant, well thought out van conversion. You obviously have some carpentry skills and know just what you’re doing. The end result was outstanding, a smart & intelligent home on wheels that is also easy on the eye. Professional looking job.
So good to see the van finished! I bought my van pretty much the same time as you, found your videos whislt building my van! Giving me inspiration and ideas and proving that someone with not a lot of skills and knowledge can do it! Ive also gone back and watched all your other videos and its makes me excited to get mine done and stealth camp! Big fan
It's controversial. Temperature differential on metal (inside vs. outside) causes condensation. Will that layer be enough to keep it from acting like bare metal? I've thought about using Rhino liner for this reason, before insulating. The biggest issue there is, I have no idea if or how long it outgases, and I don't really want to be unable to live in the van due to constant headaches.
I needed this video. I have 45 days to find a van and then attempt a conversion. I have zero experience in this field. I want this life and will achieve it because of your clear instructions. Thank you.
Have watched every episode Sundays at 9am with my 7 year old daughter and it’s something we look forward to every weekend and has brought us so much closer and we wanna try and build our own together one day. You are an inspiration for what you do and show us how to do it. Can’t wait to watch the new video tomorrow morning. Hoping we both get to speak to your in Cornwall one day on our weekends away. 🎉
Very relaxing and satisfying video. You show that it is possible to transform a van with simple tools. At the end you reach a professional look. Congratulations, well done.
You've done yourself proud on that, matey. Watched all your vids without fail. Don't forget if you're ever up Derby way, you're more than welcome to pop in for a cuppa 😊
Thank you so much for this excellent video account. You convey a lot of important information (in words and images) as you tackle each aspect of the build. For example, who knew that Ford puts holes in their vans to attach decorative exterior panels?! Now I do. I also have a better idea of just how difficult it is to do this well. Your work will save me and many others a lot of grief.
I really agree and I hope that viewers understand real cost for quality in sweat equity because when you have a large family and live in densely populated communities these ecosystems are built on sweat equity and the labor is taken for granted and now as resources are being taxed this labor being taken for granted is reflecting identity that the government will not allow because it trickles into mainstream economies of the community most blatantly in the form of trash burdens upon communities
You and your dad are very talented with woodworking. That roof is what you call attention to detail, something I would not have the patience for. Great build and love the channel.
I have loved watching your van build from start to finish and this reminded me of all the little bits I had forgotten about. Thank you Shaun. Now go and enjoy the van now it’s finished with Kate and Charlie 😊
Wow... Shaun.. You should be so proud of what you have achieved there 👏👌. Having this video is something you'll be able to show your gorgeous boy when he's older and how proud of you will he be and it should inspiring for him too 🙏. It's going to be a fantastic resource for people wanting to do the same thing... Congratulations 🎉🎊🚚💖
I've seen a couple van conversion videos but yours bro are pretty relaxing and enjoyable to watch not to mention you made it look really easy, informative, you got a new sub
Great time lapse video , I've watched from start to finish and you've got something to enjoy with your family. You've had a few (lots) challenges to overcome along the way but you've kept going and created a great van, Well done Shaun. Cheers
Wow you did a brilliant job! I'm planning to do a van conversion this year so I've saved your video to come back to. Thank you so much for the step by step explanations.
Excellent job, Shaun. I've watched all the build videos, so I know how much effort you put into that Van. 👍 Now get out there and start enjoying it. Good luck. 😊😀
Agreed, that ceiling was a great touch. Actually given me inspiration for my upcoming house build! The whole fit out is modern and clean and so different to the usual that's dished up
We just bought a Ford transit high top van with the idea of turning it in to a camper van. So thank you for doing a video of your camper van conversation.
Hey! Looked to easy. You left out some of the blood, sweat and tears. Just teasing. The vlog was good to show the total build. Happy trails to you and your family 😬🌞🌙🎉
WOW epic achievement x I must have missed a few episodes as there was a lot I hadn't seen. It looks like it was SUCH hard work but what an amazing result x you must be relieved and so proud of what you have done x well done!
Class shaun, love your videos on a Sunday morning after the bootsale. Your a really likeable person was so nice to meet you for a pint last year, hopefully catch up with you again in Cornwall soon, take care see you soon. Cracking job on the new van gets me closer to doing my own van. All the best to you and your family. Cheers Graham
You don't really grasp just how much graft has gone into this watching the weekly jobs but this just shows how much effort it's taken from scratch, hopefully the garage calls soon and we get to see it doing what it's built for 👍 favourite part has to be that ceiling 👌 looks awesome 👍 ps don't give up on the power issue 👍👍
I always use a knife when cutting that style of insulation. Cut it the same way you would drywall. Score one side and break it. Then cut the foil like you would the paper on drywall. Not only is it fast but much cleaner.
you really did your home work on this build mate , awesome...one thing I would suggest is connect one of them heaters with a fan that draws the heat from the motor into the van I've seen it on other builds place it down low underneath the front seats of the drivers side close to the engine ......also you can run a hose from your grey tanks through the floor and out , connect a tap or valve to close it of ......you can put a cooker underneath the bed slide it out the back when you have a Cook up ....cheers mate 👍👍
22k?that is a lot of money!he must have a seriously good job.just an utterly superb conversion.could do with some windows but a beautiful immaculate interior!!that's how you make things happen!
The excitement on your face when the light came on. Priceless.
JK, anyone!
Good luck - your grandson is a lucky lad.
Wow, your grandson has a good grandmother. I'm 14 too and this is my dream to travel the world, make memories and post my traveling journey on socian media and make money from it😁.

your grandson is lucky he has you. i hope it goes well! ☺️

Do you know I actually like your video a lot more, most videos just play a 30 min time lapse and I appreciate you describing each bit as you progress.
Cheers mate
@@LoveSundays This was REALLY Fantastic! Thank you for sharing.❤❤
Dads are great!

I'll probably spend about 40 hours rewatching this as I kit out my van this year. Nice one.
how is it
@@Hello-mu1et it's insulated and carpeted but that's it so far
This type of stuff is challenging but at the same time really therapeutic. I love the moments after you've done something and then you sit there and marvel at it for a few minutes before continuing the work. Obviously the feeling of taking that baby on the road is really nice too :)
This is hands down the best DIY instructional build I’ve seen. The hubby and I are looking for a van now. After seeing this, I feel SO much better!
Wow, thanks!
Love Sundays University! Yep! This is definitely the recommend course to watch. Its a re-watch! Its Brilliant!
As others have said, this beats every other van conversion by a country mile. Absolutely inspiring. I am about to start work on my own van conversion - at the tender age of 59, with very little DIY experience. Thank you so much for your videos.
Glad you enjoyed it Sarah.

100x more professional than was expecting, nice one!

That is a clean build my friend, looks fabulous 👌🇲🇫
Your youtube videos arrive at a perfect time in Australia. I'm always lucky to be one of the first to view. Good job Sean

A thorough job from start to finish! Well done!
Enjoyed watching the process from the beginning to the end. Now time to get out in the fully built van. Top work.

Thanks for this video because it 100% convinced me this is way too much work to do myself 😂
Brilliant job Shaun. I done something similar to a sprinter a few years ago. Sold it just before covid. Now using a caravan.
I have loved watching your van build from start to finish and this reminded me of all the little bits I had forgotten about. Thank you Shaun. Now go and enjoy the van now it’s finished with Kate and Charlie 😊

Thank you for filming the whole project, it was very enjoyable to watch! Glad everything worked out for you, someday I’d love to do the same thing!
What an amazing feat! So lovely to see end-to-end!
Future reference. 25mm kingspan can easily be cut by slicing both sides with a Stanley blade. No dust!
Wow you did a brilliant job! I'm planning to do a van conversion this year so I've saved your video to come back to. Thank you so much for the step by step explanations.
I know it wasn't easy to make all this footage over time so thank you for doing that
Excellent job, Shaun. I've watched all the build videos, so I know how much effort you put into that Van. 👍
Now get out there and start enjoying it. Good luck. 😊😀
Thanks 👍

Only 40 days! Thats amazing! I love your ceiling! Great job!
Thank you!! 😊
40 days per 10 hours a day is 400 hours. That's not quick by any means. But the build is good. I like it.
Agreed, that ceiling was a great touch. Actually given me inspiration for my upcoming house build!
The whole fit out is modern and clean and so different to the usual that's dished up
Top video! Having watched them all I did have a bit of a chuckle about how easy it all looked. Can't wait to see you put it to good use.
One of the few, talking about leaks!! Beautiful build!
We just bought a Ford transit high top van with the idea of turning it in to a camper van. So thank you for doing a video of your camper van conversation.

Loved the weekly updates and absolutely loved this 20min conversion overview. Thanks mate
