It’s a fantastic set up this. I’ve got a call booked with you guys to look at a sinilar set up except i’m not a mountain biker so i’ll be utilising the space differently. I’m hoping you can supply and install within my budget and if not, i can at least get the bones of it installed then get the rest when I can! Great work!
I have recommended you to a few guys at work , Vinnie got a long box/bed done in his Ford . I have a LWD Custom and looking for something like this , I will have to come through to discus , great job 👌
Hey! We dont currently do insulation or carpet lining for small or medium size vans, we would recommend checking our install prep page for advice on this www.theplyguys.co.uk/install-prep
i can't find the words to describe how original and simple it is 🔝 have a similar work (with exactly the same ford trail in black) ahead of me in june/july and it looks like I'll copy your valuable idea 😉✌😉
the cooker goes into the top drawer of the bruich beag kitchen pod, all covers go into the clachan wheel arch unit on the passenger side, loads of room for everything!
We use thermal acoustic foam you can grab it from kiravans 🤘 www.kiravans.co.uk/products/van-insulation-lining-self-adhesive-foam-with-foil-inner-surface
So those are our own ones but we dont sell them on the website at the moment due to how hard they are to ship. They are available as part of a full build or other furniture products and you can collect them from our shop in Glasgow too.
@@theplyguys cool, thanks for the reply, is there any way to find out prices etc? You may as well advertise them as the roof & floor panels need to be collected anyway.
yeah its a tricky one as they need to be made to measure and fitted on site as every van build is different and always throws up some kind of issue or needs to be tweaked or changed while we're fitting. This is one of the reasons we don't offer them as a stand alone product on the site and more as part of a full build. It would be great if they were just plug and play, hope that makes sense!
Do you prefer the transit custom to other available vans at the moment? I can’t stomach the inflated prices of T5/T6’s at the moment so looking for an alternative.
Hey thanks for the comment! We have a diesel heater under the passenger seat powered by an Eco Flow River Pro uk.ecoflow.com/products/river-pro-portable-power-station Toilet is in our removable toilet box here www.theplyguys.co.uk/product-page/toilet-box Thanks
what kind of insulation do you use for the car? so far I've only heard about "alubutyl" (against vibrations) and "armaflex" (cold/heat insulation) and for both products you almost have to take out a loan from the bank 🤬
@@theplyguys aha, is it the thermo/acoustic insulation? Tried similar from dodo but it didn't end up sticking too well on the roof of our transit. Used their other foam liner under our floor though.
I have to admit that after just starting my project I was put off a bit by this vid. It looks like at about 1min 20 secs in the panel that obviously wasn't fitting correctly was just bent in and 2 screws put in the middle to hold it
dont be put off, van fit outs are always different and never an exact science, sometimes you just have to make things fit, but the end result always looks great! Hows your project going? What van are you working on?
Hi ply guys 👋 😊 thank you very much for this great video! I am about to embark on a van conversion very soooooon and soak up any information like a sponge 🧽 😂. Forgive my ignorance, but, what type of screws do you use to fasten all the wall panels to the chassis frame ? I am wondering how this works without creating unnecessary holes and keep everything securely fastened ? Are these self taping screws ? 🛠 🧰 thank you 🙏

Do you insulate vans as a service like in this video?

Ah cool, good luck with it and thanks for the comment!
wher do you store your quilt and 4 pillows and toilet and cooker etc ?
the cooker goes into the top drawer of the bruich beag kitchen pod, all covers go into the clachan wheel arch unit on the passenger side, loads of room for everything!
The roof panels are awesome! Do you secure them straight to the pillars with sheet-metal piercing screws or do you use wood joists?
aye straight to the roof!
How do you secure the bed and storage units to the floor?
we can either strap them to existing d-rings or use insert screws and m8 bolts into our 12mm floor
Great job ..what is the material you put down ?
We use thermal acoustic foam you can grab it from kiravans 🤘
www.kiravans.co.uk/products/van-insulation-lining-self-adhesive-foam-with-foil-inner-surface
Where are the roof bars from? Thanks
looks so good!!
Thanks man, cheers for checking it out!
I like this set up, where do you put your bike though when it’s set up as a bed? Would it be possible to have it on the near side wheel arch?
yeah it sits on top of the near side wheel arch 'clachan' unit, we remove the front and back wheels.
Where did you get the wall and roof panels from? Are they self made?
We get them from our timber supplier and design and cut them at our workshop
Looks great gents, can you tell me where you got the wall panels from as it don’t see them on your website cheers 👍

Hello, great conversion!! What wheels and tires did you install?
thanks!! Alloy wheels - 16" Black Rhino Armor
Tyres - General Grabber AT3 225/65/16
@@theplyguys thanks 🙏

its a great van, lots of room and drives really well!
Is the floor not secured to the van, and how are the units secured to the floor...
The floor is secured with batons and the furniture with m8 bolts
Did I miss lighting and heating? Was that a toilet in the drawer? Otherwise a decent day van.
Hey thanks for the comment!
We have a diesel heater under the passenger seat powered by an Eco Flow River Pro uk.ecoflow.com/products/river-pro-portable-power-station

What engine type? Mpg? Diesel, petrol or hybrid?
Its a diesel version , unsure on mpg but in eco mode and good driving roughly 35
Is it possible to fabricate for me? What should i do? By the way, i'm from Malaysia.
thanks for the comment but sadly we cant ship that far yet. hopefully soon though!
Do inform me.
Anything that could fit in Nissan NV200?
Love it
Thanks for the comment glad you like it!!
How big is the bed?
1500mm wide and max 1900mm long
Nice van, good job - but for goodness sake, pull your trousers up !
haha thanks!

By the looks of it, just the reflectix bubble wrap. The sound deadener is a must though!

hey! no worries happy to help, it just depends on what you have to play with, we went for 4x16 but just go with what length works for you.
oh, thank you so much for your fast reply. :) Most appreciated. I'll add this to my list of thiiings to buy ;)
👍
No bathroom, so it's a no-go for my taste, but I can see where a dude would like it.
we also provide a toilket box for a thetford 35 portable toilet which can also be used for extra seating options, but the bushes are always an option!
