That was a mistake, the infotainment and touch controls on the steering wheel is a no go. Also 135 KW DC Charging is super slow and unacceptable for 2024 standards. You should have gotten the Hyundai Ioniq 5, it has a similar price, real buttons, more range, and 230KW charging.
@@marlo8850 not true, the infotainment is really good know, better than the now dated looking ioniq 5. 800v charging has no practical use for me and 80% of chargers here max out at around 150 anyway. Id4 in my country are about 40% cheaper than the ioniq 5 and EV6 in leasing. Knowledge and humility are virtues.

You can't have that in France because of a law (can't remember which one through). Well i'll know fast enough since i'll get mine next week (4 motion pro life max 286).
Sport plus adds adaptive dampers, so better comfort when needed or sportier characteristics when you want. That's a good addition. But can't say if it's worth the extra cost for you.
When I look at the vw configurator, it indicates 175kw max charging speed for the ID.4. Pro Business Premium. E.g the RWD. Do you know if this is a mistake on their site or if they fixed the charging speed on the AWD? I am looking at the belgian site.
Does the panoramic roof have a blind? May help with noise level also. Is that roof standard on rwd or optional extra. I thought the 2023 id4 had 515km wltp and new 2024 was closer to 550km? Charging speed may be related to different battery packs in rwd vs awd? Thanks for the review
Pano has an electronic curtain. Mention it in this video: th-cam.com/video/yc9xr2YpIxQ/w-d-xo.html And during noise test it's closed. 550km is with the smaller standard wheels.
All the fuss about the lack of full one pedal drive... I do not get it really... Just if that last 5km/h that you have to brake makes that much of difference? Moreover, coasting (D mode) sometimes could be more efficient in a defensive drive style, right?

@dirkdhont3181 don't get me wrong, I still enjoy driving the ID3 I have without OPD. But still miss it and get reminded of how effortless it is to drive a car with OPD, especially in dense traffic. It's like going from a manual combustion car to an automatic.
@@ItsOnlyElectric No, I hate opd...it feels not natural at all (and you need to keep your food on pedal all the time), and my wife got moving sick in such cars. A car with opd like a Tesla...is an absolute NONO for me. Furthermore you should have your food always over the brake pedal for an emergency stop in any case.

@Mototherapy_Michio I would for panoramic glass roof. Love the airiness it gives the cabin.. It's a bit heavier but won't affect the consumption at all. Weight is not the main factor of consumption it's air resistant and the efficiency in the power train.
Tip: if you own it, and do not have the panorama glas, install acoustic glass in the front two doors. Stops the wind noise dead. MUCH quieter. Cost: probably 100 EUr each glass, plus effort, which is not much.
Please explain What does having a panoramic roof have to do with the side glass? Do I call the dealer and ask for 'acoustic glass' and they will know what I mean?

In Canada, VW website states that the Pro, Pro S RWD and AWD have DC maximum acceptance rate to be 175 kw. Only the ID.4 (not pro) has this as 140 kw. Are you sure it wasn't a charger issue?
In Canada we have US built cars and they have sourced different battery's than in Europe. I know my 2023 Canadian AWD has the SK-On battery and it can accept 175.

I recommend going with the heat pump. I didn't hear it a single time for the week I tested it. Also have heat pump in my ID3 and it never really gets disturbing. But sure it makes some noise when cold outside and the cabin gets preheated. Maybe I'm to used to it to give you a good advice. But in general I would never go without heat pump regardless of car make and model.
VW should replace ALL ID3 and ID4 that they have sold with those new ones. The Old ones was a beta version, and they should never release them to the public.
Did VW fixed the software so that it doesn't ask who you are EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU START THE CAR for 2024? I have 2023 ID.4, and it will automatically unlock the car doors when I approach the car but it can't figure out who I am using the FOB. I have to spent up to 3 touches to change the driver, to me, so that I can get all my personal settings back.

I mean it’s not a big deal if you are the only driver. But if there are multiple drivers, it is a constant reminder VW doesn’t care about drivers’ experience. There are too many software silliness with the car. Has the built in Nav map still show the major roads in blue? In BLUE! How are you supposed to tell the difference between a major road and a river? ID.4 is a good car marred by software written by high school students.
I hate the manual login part. Outside that I can really live with 4+ it's so much better (so good that's it suddenly not an issue anymore) than the 3.2 that I'm living with (hate it).

It's stupid to keep the slower charge rate for such a big battery , it should not matter if it's RWD or AWD. If you want the highest range you need the RWD but it will be a pain for road trips to wait 34 minutes instead of 26 minutes.
I hate EVs!! I point and laugh at my friends who have bought one as well. That was me 2 days ago. Yesterday morning I test drove an id4 just to see what it would be like to drive, thinking it'd be crap, but I was so impressed I ordered one there and then. It'll be here before the end of September.
@@ItsOnlyElectric As soon you use ACC, the mode is usless, since the Car decides when to coast or regen. Adaptive regen is the best in most new cars...coasting on Autobahn is about 10% more efficient.

Not sure. Can't find the info on their website. Earlier it said the lower speed for the RWD.

Yes, it's all about the drive style. But when you get used to OPD you will never go back.

It for sure does. But I did the test with the sunshade covered so that lowers the noise.

i just finished the test driving today. very very slient, actually only a very little noise when speed up to 100km/h

North America specs says 175 and in Europe 135 on the website for the PRO. So better charging is US and Canada.
AWD from 2023 in Europe also gets 175.

Though question. More or less depends on what you need and like. If you need AWD you need to go for the ID4.

Good improvements but still feels like an average car.. It would have been better, had they used same platform as ID7.
