In my family, we have had several VW cars, and all of them were really solid and lasted a long time, like 20 years. Because they last so long, I don't mind that they cost a little more to buy. I have had a 2023 ID4 ProS AWD for almost 2 years and I am very happy with it.
Hey Loius, hope your enjoying your Model 3 and no more issues have pop up. So as an owner of a model 3, Y and now an ID4 I have a few points to share. First all cars are different and have their peculiarities. Teslas are great cars and so is the ID4. I loved my 2 Teslas, the 3 looks better than the Y, but for me it was to low to the ground, as soon as the first price drop came for the Y , I got one. Loved it, but as insurance rates started to go up, I decided for a change, was able to get an ID4 Pro S plus, and for me it ment a savings of $400 a month so that makes me very happy. Things I miss from the Tesla, the full regenerative braking , the cameras when you do a lane change, the phone as a key and the supercharger network. With the ID4 even dough it slows down it won't come to a full stop, when lane changing you have to look to the outside mirrors, unless your in travel assist, more in a moment, I have to carry a huge key all the time and Electrify America is a joke, half the time you have at least 1 or 2 out of service, most of the time theres a wait because of this. Do I regret getting the ID4? Not at all. All the nick picks you get over them, like the window switches, I never lower my windows, the weather in Florida is to hot, the parking assist is to slow for any car, its faster to do it yourself, the pararell parking works much better. Did you know you can program a parking manuever, it works if you have the same parking spot you can input it in the memory and it would learn the manuever, so when you're getting close you activate it and it does it for you. I haven't done it because my garage is big and at work never park in the same spot. Interesting thing, did you know the grey and white arrows that show up in the travel assist display serve as visual reference that tells you if the lane is available or not, and if its white with one click of the stalk it will change the lane for you. Something that drives me nuts is the time it takes for Android auto to connect, most of the time I'm already driving when it finally connects, and yes the system is laggy ,but as soon as Android Auto is connected I'm good to go. The buttons for the volume and temperature control I've memorized where they are and don't even have to look at them. So the point is you get used to the peculiarities of your car, as you did with your new Model 3, as I did when I first got a Tesla and now with the ID4. My opinion I find the ID4 more comfortable and better looking than the Y, but everybody has their own tastes. The point is a lot of great cars to choose from. But I'm not happy that last years premium wheels that where only available on the Pro S plus are now on the lower trim, wheels are one way of determining the hierachy!, lol. Eager to see the new wheels on the top trim.
I test drove the MY24 Pro S AWD and the Park Assist did a great job parking backwards between two cars. Maybe it works better when it has obstacles to sense than parking in an empty lot
My 2021 has an 82kwh battery pack with 77kwh usable. The power, range, and efficiency difference in the 2024 is the APP550 motor, not a bigger battery.
A masterpiece of engineering, the bZ4X blends sustainability with driving pleasure, offering an EPA-estimated 252-mile range in FWD models. It’s an electric vehicle built to empower every journey with confidence.
Great job on the video! I think there's a missed opportunity to make this close to perfect. VW should offer an option package to add power driver's seat and power rear hatch onto this trim. That's about all That's keeping me from buying it. Really don't want step up to "S" trim.
I am a bit surprised that it did not steer you through the bend. I heard it does lane centring/ bends better than a Tesla usually but didn’t seem to be the case. Any idea why?
Very informative and detaildel Review - Looking forward to get my ID 4 in 4 weeks ...........but, but, but what is it with (all) you US-Guys : yak, yak, yak, yak - on and on and on ....remember to breathe - my ears are glowing 🙂
Most of these changes in the 2024 are in the Chinese id.4 2023 except for the screen size and illuminated sliders, even the Software Update (version 4.0 in U.S/Germany and 2979 in China) is also available for older models although in some other video a VW rep said it wont be coming to older models, there are a lot of differences between Chinese made id.4/6 and the ones in Germany/U.S. BTW, Chinese ID cars are made in two different manufacturing plants (X and Crozz) and both have slight differences in the outside looks and interior middle area infront of the arm rest, also the Chinese ones have folded mirrors in almost all trims, however, the trims are named differently as well, Standard = Pure, Pro = Pure+, Pro S = Pro, AWD Pro = Prime
It's just a matter of taste, any electric vehicle company has a nicer interior than a Tesla, but Tesla has a head start on guidance and consumption technologies
Hard disagree on the interior. I would argue with the release of the refreshed model 3 that very few if any EVs have a “nicer” interior. You may prefer buttons and design but overall quality is untouchable at the current price point
I like VW and Ive own many. Im looking to purchase an EV. I would have gone with the ID4 but the abundance of piano black plastic especially in high traffic areas is just plain stupid and frankly incredibly infuriating. VW doesnt deserve my money based on that. If VW is dumb enough to do that VW doesnt deserve my money.
I just can’t get over the asinine controls that Volkswagen put in their electric vehicles. The window switches just seems like the dumbest thing. It’s all form over function in that car as far as I can tell. I suppose you get used to it, but you never know what’s going to drive you crazy forever. It looks to me like the fan control is going to be two presses. I find it sad that electric cars free up all that space and then eliminate controls that take up so little space. Honda tried sliders years ago. Bad idea then, bad idea now. I’m glad they gave the car more horsepower though. It’s now very competitive in that aspect.
@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville yea it's a fleet car. I got it back Monday and today 6/6 had an error message "Drive system, service vehicle". Seriously.?.
@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville , I don’t how you did that, but image jumps forward and backwards. I guess, due to frame cropping. I saw the same effect in somebody else’s video.
I’d also prefer that you don’t do the fake jump edits. In the beginning it was like one every 3 seconds. Seems like you can just jump edit when necessary and when you have no breaks, just let it flow. Anyway, it was bad enough that I felt like I should leave a comment.
2024 id4 pro S with 21 inch wheels. I think I will never buy Volkswagon again because of this ID4. I owned total 4 Volkswagon. This is the worst car be made. I have to pull my 15 fuse to reset the car every other day. No power folding mirrors no 360 camera and not a sporty drive at all. Boring and every time you break to a full stop the breaks squeak. It sounds so cheap. Boring drive and horrible infointainment screen that freezes and app connect is horrible.. I get warning lights all the time and have to pull the fuse to reset. For $73 thousand dollers Canadian and no 360 camera or self parking or folding mirrors and no front camera is a scam. Not going to buy Volkswagon ever again after this experience.
Charging unit on wrong side for my need but am going for test drive. Way too expensive. Ford coming out with base $25k and Jeep coming out with $25k. These r for EV's and b out by 2026.
The next time you do review why dont you just post it at 3x the speed of this one……it will be about as useful as this video. Dude….slow things down about

Thank you for sharing your feedback. You and Louis did a great job.
I test drove the MY24 Pro S AWD and the Park Assist did a great job parking backwards between two cars. Maybe it works better when it has obstacles to sense than parking in an empty lot
Potentially! I was trying to get it to highlight a spot between two cars in the video and it just never popped up. Super frustrating

What about navigation route planning--charge stops, etc
@23:00 You really don't like that screen? That was a must have for my wife in purchasing an EV. My wife did not want a screen like Tesla.
To each their own. I like stuff as simple as possible. I love having just one big screen

Great Review - thank you for this.
What are the best lease deals and or financing incentives for these?
249 a month 36 month lease and 0% APR for 72 months pretty sure
Great job on the video!

Great overview video.
Thank you 🙏🏻
I wouldn’t make my worst enemy take a road trip in the back seat of a Model Y. Glad to see the back seat of the ID.4 is serviceable.
Model Y actually has more passenger volume than the ID.4
I found it pretty good on both
I am a bit surprised that it did not steer you through the bend. I heard it does lane centring/ bends better than a Tesla usually but didn’t seem to be the case. Any idea why?
I can confidently say it is not better than autopilot. But it does usually do better on curves
I agree about the graphic styling. Also preferred the old style. Was so uncluttered.
Wish they would’ve just fixed the performance and not messed with it 🫠
Hi. Which color is this?
Pure Grey
Very informative and detaildel Review - Looking forward to get my ID 4 in 4 weeks ...........but, but, but what is it with (all) you US-Guys : yak, yak, yak, yak - on and on and on ....remember to breathe - my ears are glowing 🙂
Why do you have to get 20 inch wheels when you go AWD?
I also don't get it. That's way too big
A 40% increase in horsepower is not a “slight” increase. It’s huge!
I wish it was more noticeable 🥲
German engineering & Modern software engineering could be put in the same sentences
Yeahhhh, i dont get fhe gloss black bs. I personally think it generally looks tacky anyways
It looks so cheap IMO. It’s my worst enemy 😅

@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville That's what i said a matter of taste.
You actually managed to highlight one of my dislikes in Teslas. The missing driver information screen.
All personal preference, I haven’t missed it one time since. I hardly ever looked at it in my bolt, except for slight glance for speed

You think you're stupid. Just after that, i was thinking why is one tyre red and one white. Me stupid too 😂
😂
My ID4 Pro S electrical system died after 1,500 milez
What?! Under warranty I’m sure, right?
@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville yea it's a fleet car. I got it back Monday and today 6/6 had an error message "Drive system, service vehicle". Seriously.?.
Geez.
Whoever convinced you to create the fake jump edits, was not a good influence.
What is a fake jump edit
@@BachmanVolkswagenLouisville , I don’t how you did that, but image jumps forward and backwards. I guess, due to frame cropping. I saw the same effect in somebody else’s video.
