Seems like VW are only focusing on the ID7 and not putting much effort into sorting the known reported issues afflicting the not inexpensive ID3 and 4 models. I find that they gave up on OTA upgrades very unsatisfactory as that was very much a selling point that they pushed.
@@dancrane2 I drove one up here in Toronto with the 21s. Very harsh ride as well. The software is light years ahead of the old version. Anything earlier than 2024 has basically been made obsolete imo.
This problem happened with me a lot of time (ID.3 1st Edition). I think it is the Android Auto/Carplay navigation. When I use the VW Navigation and Carplay Navi (Google Maps, Waze) at the same time it get stuck.. Last time I tried the Apple Maps when it gone crazy and the phone cannot find position too... 😵
I have the same issue with the Cupra Born, and when this happens, the central speaker pops twice and sometimes it reports me in the small screen that the emergency calls are not available at the moment. I suppose the modem software crashes and isn't able to reboot automatically until the system doesn't reboots completely. That's really a shame. Ah, and in my case it happens even without android auto open or by using the GPS
hi there .. I just got my id4 2024 and it happened to me. The car got disconnected from the GPS and internet and the same bizzar in the map happened .. this last for about 1 week then resumed by itself in the morning when I start to use it. Even Carnet to connect to the car from your mobile is also disconnected.
I had the 4G internet drop on me as well on my 2024 ID4. It lasted about a day and was annoying. So I searched the internet for a solution and found a video (mainly for the old ID4 and ID3) that demonstrated that if you pull Fuse 19 from under the steering wheel and wait a couple of minutes then put it back in, it will force a reconnection to the internet and it worked. I did mention this to my dealership about a week ago and they don't see anything posted in their system from VW yet. Now that there's a video on this (thanks BatteryLife) with the 2024 ID4, maybe VW will look into this issue and provide an update.
@@JoeSaw79 you are right, i went to the dealer in ontarion canada, and they scanned everything and they told me we could not connect for no valid reason, and I have to book an appointment(it seems with an techinian especialed in electric cars) and that will be in 3 weeks from now !!! I came across the fuse 19 as well and other people said it is 19 and 20 , but the funny part is some people did it and it trigger the air bag fault which scarred me to do it
@@leos7471 yeah there is. Lift off while in B and the car will start slowing immediately, so you need to use more battery to speed back up. Lift of in D and the car will coast using no battery.
@@leos7471 I have an Enyaq 60 on version 3.2 software. If I’m travelling on the motorway and I’m in B and I then switch on cruise control, it automatically switches to a highlighted blue A. I.E, it still shows B even when in cruise control.
Got to say, 21" rims on EVs is simple vanity & marketing crap for looks, there's not a single dynamic advantage, it's all negative for cost, range, efficiency, tyre life, noise, ride... a totally dumb option, especially on an ID.4. Like putting Carlos Fandango wheels on a Ford Anglia... (you have to be old to remember that UK advert...)
60k miles in my current ID.4 GTX on software 3.2 and I’ve never seen this issue. My previous ID.3 1st Edition had a lot of software problems from new but even that got better after the 2.1 update. My wife’s Tesla has software glitches too sometimes, the nature of software I guess.
Watching from the US and about to buy a 2024 Pro S. Thanks for the conversion table.

Thanks for mentioning removing preheating. I'd been wondering about that in other videos 😅
I really don’t know why they don’t sell those 21-in rims in the US. They look fantastic.
The are available in Canada. Probably on the Plus version the US will get those. Honestly, they look cartoonish in person.
@@kevinn1158 REALLY!!! Now I’m curious to see them in person!

warmer temperatures and 19inch rims should push the range close to 400km
at constant speed, rim size has less impact, temperature will give you some extra range, but it was not really cold ... so you can add max 30km ...
It’s not a bug it’s a feature that the infotainment does strange stuff 😂

Is this the smaller battery pack? Rwd or awd?
How about going 100 km/h ? Will it need a charge for a trip of 430 km ?

Maybe fuse 20 triggers the airbag. 19 does not, at least when I did it.
what is the battery size?
14:11 it shows on the table
Why do you use B instead of D on the highway?
There’s no difference

Looks like GPS spoofing.
Those rims look ridiculously large. Cartoonish.
I wonder why nobody puts the Supernova (former Betria) rims from Enyaq on the ID4... 🤔

But ID7 is fine?!

Shame on VW ... they didn't solve software issues since 2021
Which issue?
What issues? My ID.3 with 3.2 is working perfectly.
