HAORI DIY | How To Sew Your Own Haori Jacket Step by Step Tutorial

  • If you like Japan Traditional Clothing, then you shouldn't miss out this Kimono Jacket DIY project. In this video, we are going to show you step by step guide of how to make a haori jacket. Haori jacket or many people also call it Kimono Jacket is an easy to make sewing project/ diy project. It uses mainly square or rectangular fabric pattern to sew. The Haori Jacket in this video is greatly inspired by the traditional Haori jacket but is simpler to make.

    According to Wikipedia, haori is a traditional Japanese hip- or thigh-length kimono-style jacket, worn over a kosode. Many people also called it "Kimono Jacket". It is one of the easier one to make compare to other Japan Traditional Clothing.
    After watching a few other haori sewing tutorial on TH-cam, we decided to do one of our very own version of haori sewing tutorial. So you too can have some Japanese flavor in your wardrobe.
    We know it is not easy to plan your wardrobe. Especially when there are so many fashion styles and fashion brands nowadays. In SEIIYA Fashion TV, we want to help find your own style and give you some useful fashion tips and knowledge.

    I really would like to try this but the video is very confusing. I wish you could do another video explaining how to do it. The hibori is excellent. Just couldn’t catch anything on the video ❤

      Hey! For the base I use Lycra cotton but not recommended though. Because it is too soft. The middle part and the sleeve is linen cotton. Suggest you to use 100% linen or linen cotton. 😃😃
