    i know this is not for cosplay but i love to make cosplay that is accurate to the real clothing (not the low quality stuff online) so this was very helpful, thank you!

    Keeping the paper pattern attached the whole time is such a clever and useful way to construct a garment! I've never seen it done that way before!! I'm looking forward to purchasing this pattern and learning from it :)
    I looked in your videos and I apologize if I've missed it, but might you have a pattern for 作務衣?

      Blunts the needle really quickly… and tension on the stitches can be looser than desirable…

    Is this pattern better suited for a western bolt of fabric or the ones usually used for kimonos (tanmono, i think). I ask because i'm going to create my own "bolt of fabric" using many patches of fabric, mimicking the pattern on Giyu Tomioka haori, and wanted to use this pattern to draft that

    • @wkimono
      @wkimono  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, bolt of fabric works too

      @@wkimono Western or Japanese ? width is different

    • @wkimono
      @wkimono  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh it seems I didn't understand @viniciusbrando264's question. Did he say if width of western fabric is OK?
      This pattern expects fabrics wider than about 80 or 90 cm.

      @@wkimono Thank you.
      In the West we generally buy fabric over 1 meter in width (often 150 cm, but I've seen some 250+ cm wide). But kimono and yukata fabric are famously standardized to a narrow width, under 100 cm.

    thank you so much! how tall are you? and what height does this haori suit?

    • @wkimono
      @wkimono  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Dariana san, I'm 178cm tall. this haori suits 173 - 182cm. But my pattern in the description would have more size.

    Love the video man. Are there any calve length Haori? Sorry if I’m not making since I’m still learning.

    • @wkimono
      @wkimono  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Thanks. there can be such a long haori. But many of them are for women. If you'd like to get such a long haori for men, you need to tailor it.

    Is hakama also required to wear?

    • @wkimono
      @wkimono  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, Hakama is always optional. It's formal to wear hakama. When you go to a formal place like ceremonies, you're required to wear hakama.

    Wahhh this is what, i'm looking for 😍😍😍 良かった!Is the haori machi (羽織まち) is not necessary at all?

    • @wkimono
      @wkimono  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good to hear that :D That's right. You could add haori machi but it doesn't have to be added necessarily. This video is for beginners so haori machi is not added.
