Whow....!!! BlenderBim coming to be a real player into the world of architecture design and documentation...!! Tks for the video!! Liked and share on my groups of engineers.
Hi Everyone, Just an update, the Door & window tags Now work perfectly! You no longer need to load the IfcTypes from this part of the video: th-cam.com/video/xWPLZK_WoS8/w-d-xo.html The new process for door & window tags goes like this: Step 1: Select text object / Step 2: In 'Object Properties/ IFC Object Property Sets Step 3: Add an / EPset_Annotation Step 4: Edit the EPset_Annotation / and in the 'Symbol' box, type 'rectangle-tag' OR 'door-tag' (without the quotation marks) Step 5: Save and Voila! Things are changing fast and it's just getting better!
I have follow this instruction using the 'door-tag' inside the 'Symbol' box and it put a circle with a line dividing it in half when I render the documentation, my question is, what is this tag for in terms of the 2D drawing annotation? I am new in 2D building draft
Hi! apologies for the delay, yes there are major changes happening at the moment and I will be updating this series after the next big shift if you are still keen to see the process with the new UI
holy shit this is awesome man, I love how much effort you've put in, its really come a long way! Is it possible to change/create custom dimension leaders and arrow heads, etc?
I have a few questions: 1. is there a way to create clean continuous walls without that dividing line in the corners? 2. can I create layers in the svg file linked to the model in blender?...The main goal is to create autocad files with proper layers for the other collaborators
Hi Dario 1) this has been resolved since this version of BlenderBim the newer versions no longer have those dividing lines. 2) it is possible to export the svg to dxf, but at the moment it isn't possible, as far as I'm aware, to control the layers of the cad file export, but it is certainly a wanted feature, You can make feature requests here on the github page: github.com/IfcOpenShell/IfcOpenShell/issues And the OSArch community is a great place to talk it through with like minded and informed people: community.osarch.org/discussions
Hi xtreme yes they can you need to edit the stylesheet and the markers svg in the assets folder this video can give you an idea of what to do: th-cam.com/video/dPWQbjaeoyo/w-d-xo.html
Make sure you have 'view annotations' ticked/selected. You can see that here: th-cam.com/video/xWPLZK_WoS8/w-d-xo.html Also make sure the view port is activated (sometimes you can un-activate it accidently) See it here: th-cam.com/video/xWPLZK_WoS8/w-d-xo.html If that doesn't help try starting a new drawing, if that doesnt work try a new Ifc project If all else fails you can ask technical questions here on the OSArch thread: community.osarch.org/discussion/1254/blenderbim-beginner-tutorial-step-by-step-project-part-1-modelling#latest And people including me can help brainstorm the issue edit: Changing the style of the dimensions involves changing the font used and the CSS patterns which will be in a follow up video, so stay tuned!
Another question if I may? Bathroom 2d annotations show in camera, not showing in drawing. Show as 3d models being cut. All in my story container. Any thoughts?
Hi Peter, since BlenderBim has gone through a number of updates, it has changed how representation works in the drawings giving you this error, I am in the process of updating all the example ifc files for this reason and will send out a PSA about that once it's completed, In the meantime I would suggest using the same version of BlenderBim I used in the video, found in the description, in this case: blenderbim-221110 Which should let you compete the tutorial without any issues
How do you get to create additional grids? I tried to duplicate them after creating but it comes as an annotation and not a grid. And when I use the "Add Grids" tool it creates different collections. Any help?
Hi @owurakuotchere-darko9392 Grids currently have 2 elements associated with them, one is the physical grid element and the other is the annotation element in the drawing, if you duplicate them you need to duplicate both and rename them appropriately for it to show, it's a bit tedious at the moment but it should work. If that doesn't help I'd recommend asking on the OSArch community forum where others including myself can help out: community.osarch.org/discussions
@@owurakuotchere-darko9392 That sounds like a bug to me sorry, I'd recommend updating your BlenderBim to the latest here: github.com/ifcopenshell/ifcopenshell/releases And trying again with the file, if you still can't delete, it would be good to share the ifc. file if possible on the forum and we can battle test it.
At the moment you can use Geomertry nodes and then classify the 'baked' result as an Ifc object, in that way you can incorporate the two together. But when it comes to 'integration' blenderbim works well with Sverchok and came be dynamically used with it. A recent update (like 7 jan 2023) has also updated the workflow, I'm not too familiar with it so once I've got a handle on it, I can make a video

Glad you liked it! And this is just a very small example people have been using it for huge projects
love this! Looking forward to more 🤓
Great video. For anyone like me trying to find where the viewport annotations are, they are now in the toolbar. It's the Annotation Tool.
What a coincidence I was in your channel checking out your resent video's then saw you upload what I was looking for, Thanks
Thank you for this tutorial! I have been following along and so far its fun!
Excelente postagem!Felicidades a todos e tudo de bom.

How can we utilise the bottom half of the circle door tag? Using
doesn't put it underneath
great work, thanks!
excellent, thanks
Excellent, I wonder what would be the tech to do the same thing with the new blenderBIM IU
