I've seen a lot of archviz tutorials recently and this one is the most hassle free, FREE$$$, one I've seen. A lot of other tutorials use paid for materials and assets which I'm not going to buy yet because I'm just learning.
Amazing howto. I love how the teacher just gets right into it without making unnecessary outlines and useless chatter. It's packed with info, but a little fast for us beginners. Regardless there's a ton of info to mine from this using the spacebar pause. Thank you!!
@@nixonmanuel6459 key strokes are not shown, it's a nice showcase but hard to follow even at x0.25 speed. If the purpose of the video is to demostrate how good and fast the tuber is, fine. Tutorial-wise? not so. My point of view of course.
yes, this... I hate when the presenter wastes time by beating around the bush and what should be a few minutes video is purposefully turned into a 15-20 minutes one.
WOOOW! It's fantastic video explaining fantastic super quick method to draw a plan. This video will let me change the way I follow in my ARCH steps. Thanks a lot. 29-04-02-2022
OMG mannnnnn You are so amazing 💝 Lots of useful information inside one video and everything is precise, easy to understand. Thanks a lot for the video I want to see more if your videos 😍
hey bro, many times dxf import fails so i will suggest to first export the dwg file to pdf (vector format) and then import that pdf into inkscape so you can export that into svg format which is very well supported by blender. also make sure to export only essential walls and data so you can have better snapping time. other details you can import as image planes/references. Another way i will suggest is to enable extra-mesh addon which lets you add single vertex (that you can assign a shortcut to it. i assigned Ctrl+Shift+A), also enable Snap(Increment as well Vertex), Now from wherever you want to start simply hold Shift and Right click, the 3d cursor will snap to vertex after that press CTRL+SHIFT+A to add single vertex, start extruding the vertex to trace the walls, floor or any and then press A to select all and F to fill it, press S Z 0 to flatten the plane. If you still dont understand please let me know. anyway i created a playlist "Blender Gems" and saved that video in it.
That's a really good idea. Upvoted! As someone who uses Inkscape a lot, I can confirm that the SVG method works. Just to add to that, if you have a picture of a floor plan. Import it in Inkscape and use "Trace Bitmap" functionality in Inkscape to transform that to a vector. Save it as SVG. And then import that SVG in Blender.
As a draughtsman working with AutoCAD & Revit everyday I have to say I'm impressed, I'm going to try this and compare the difference between Revit 3D and Blender. Do you have a full tutorial on doing this from scratch though?
Love the video. Straight to the point and very clear. Just one thing, could you also share the link to material library you used as well and how to get that set up as well?
4:48 One caveat is that nearly all of these models are in 3DS format, which is very old†, and the Blender importer is pretty much orphaned. I have done my own hacks to this to try to improve things. †How old? “Triangles, triangles, triangles!” That’s how old.
Idk what version of archimesh add-on in this video but mine is kinda buggy i think, if i try to control the width of the door frame the boounding box for boolean always moved outside of the boolean collection, if i try to move it again to the boolean collection and change the frame width it moved again, it won't stay inside the boolean collection
Awesome! But would like to know where you setup the proper UV setup for the parametric wall. On the Wall object or is it the material setup? How did you set this up?
Good Question Buddy 👍. As you can see in beginning of this video all models are saved in one file library. and i am working in feet and inches (Physically Accurate) and all models and downloaded first and Merged in one Piece then scaled Accordingly to Real world scale.( like bed and sofa are 6 feet long) and i saved this file as Library then importing them with real world scale into floor plan file. Yes it takes time to make whole library but its one time investment then you can make many plans... oohhhooosseeesss......Hop it help you
its a upcomming feature ot try this just download alpha build 3.0 form blender.org experimental bulids. unzip blender. open it. and reset default from edit preferences. then you will find mark asset in outliner with right click on object. 🙏 may be help u 🙂
@@10minuteartist87 I couldn't make it work as you do in the tutorial. I can't understand when you say 4:56 "in our *nutshell?* we have our model ready..." Can you explain better how did you do this part, please?
Mah man, I truly loved this workflow, definitely going to try this out. Just one question, can I make apply a texture to the walls without applying the modifiers?
Texturing is a problem with this non-destructive extrusion approach. Another way is to create the walls as zero-thickness meshes and use a solidify modifier. Then at least you get proper UVs, without needing to apply the modifiers
hey, why none of the downloaded files from archive3d works on blender after importing? After importing, it just shows a single vertex, scaling or anything doesnt work.! And thanks for the awesome tutorial!
Thank you for this great tutorial, I have subscribed. I had been wondering why only some of my assets were showing up in my folders, until you mentioned object parts had to be merged. How did you get some of your models to show up rendered in the Asset browser?
i made this cad file in google SketchUp. people often use AutoCAD software. its a 2d drawing that is provided by civil architect to 3d artist. in future i will make tutorial about this

I've been using Blender for Archviz for a long time, but never used this boolean collection workflow. Brilliant! Thank you for this!
this isn't working for me in Blender 4.2.1. It says can't execute modifier as the object isn't a mesh. can you help me?

more happy if the cad file is free to download so that we can practice it also :)
Appreciate the tutorial. You should have provided the floor plan and blend file of the models for practice.

Thank you for the amazing tutrtial, how can i cut openings in the walls? im trying to use the Boolean modifier but it is not working
Where can we find CAD floor plans for download? Is there a repository of varied FPs that can be grabbed/used?
Hi sir I don't know too much about blender but I am struggling plz tell me from where I get floor plan
how did you import your assets/models in blender?
When i select the window or door box wire frame, add a boolean, nothing happens :(
can you please share you asset library please

On the Wall object or is it the material setup?

how to avoid boolean crash?

But why the model from library will match the world scale perfectly??

Try adding a mapping setup with ctrl+t and plugging the object to the vector

i found the workaround!! just had to clamp the model 10-20 before importing.

Bro how to use archive3D file in blender this file is not import in blender
Is it done using autocadd software only 3d but from autocadd or did you use different software for rendering
Only the plan is done in autocad, the 3d and rendering is done in blender
Dear sir, pls provide this blender file
can you share dxf autocad file
hiii Bro Can you give me this blender file Because I want this file for my submission in college plese 😅🙏

thanks May be in near future ☺️
There is an extrude modifier in blender. Press E.

That's an operation, not a "modifier".
