Nice vid, watching while I draft plans for a friend's '49 Apache that's already "built". One of the biggest lessons I have learned with large Ga wire is using ferrules. Helps a ton and with planning as well, when things need to be re-run. Thanks for taking the time to make the video!
On my 65 C10, I relocated battery to inside the bed in a vintage aluminum cooler that has an added locking latch, I also put a battery cut off switch on driver side floor board for extra security & ran wires thru aluminum shielding. I did my build before anyone came out with any kits so I had to do my own fabricating that was time consuming, Got all my wiring & 1000 CCA battery from a battery shop for very low prices back in the day, never had any problems with it so far, I still have the 1965 GM spring loaded battery terminals on it. Relocating a little more weight to the rear helped with traction. I had to give a jump to another C10 that was on the frame, that is the worst place to put it when you need a jump or have to service the battery.
First project I see on your battery terminals well just the hot one is that the clam lever is facing the metal bracket so when you open that clamp it might spark and you said self tap the power bank to the fire that not a fire wall that’s a core support. But your doing good keep going
Thanks for pointing out the areas I need to improve. That helps me. When you’re trying to do a job and record at the same time it’s not easy. I mess up on words a lot but you can’t really go back and fix it. I rather show some of my mistakes so people can see I’m not perfect. Just a guy out in the garage trying to help other people.
That positive terminal is awfully close to that grounded battery mount. I don’t know how much slop there is fore and aft between the battery and the mount, but it looks like a half inch on either side. But that positive terminal is closer than 1/2” to the mount, so hit a bump and you’ll have a fire. Actually, now that I look at it, you have the battery in there the wrong way. The terminals are likely supposed to go where the mounting strap is narrow. But you’ll probably change it anyways once you put the truck bed floor on it. You won’t be able to even get the battery mount off with the bed floor there.
This video is really old and I had no issues with it. Worked great. With a raised bed floor it was easy to access from the back with the tailgate down.
Awesome work! You should consider splitting the air line and run a quick connect off the rear too. Simple little coil air hose in case you get in a bind and or need to air up the suspension should you have a failure...I dunno, just a thought.
I asked him not to do them until I had the engine ready to go in. I didn’t want them sitting around and get damaged. I don’t have a ton of room in my small garage.
Thanks for the advice. I have battery terminal covers on the battery. This video was early on in my build. I’d love to see how yours is setup. Shoot me some pics on instagram or Facebook.

Good feedback. Thank you.

@@SIMPLE.C10 I messed up on words to for trying to type at night with my glasses 😂😂but I liked your video well done
@@a.g.1202 lol. Thanks. I really do appreciate it.

I thought about that as well. Thanks for the suggestion.
Nice work dude
Thanks
Thanks for sharing!! Great work! Is there a circuit breaker? Maybe I missed?
Nice work
Thanks!
awesome work
Thanks!
Hi, Great work I will be using some of these ideas on my build. Did you consider fusing the 1/0 cable running to the front. maybe a 250amp fuse?
Probably wouldn’t hurt!
Good Stuff Travis!!!! About to do the same thing!!!! Thanks Brother!!!
Thanks for watching.
Nice work and content. where did you find the wire and terminal kit?
Do they still make this battery? I can't find them at any Walmarts around. Any recommendation for another "value" alternative?

Should have a sealed/marine type battery case, water is going to be a major problem for this installation.
It’s been going for three years without any issue. Battery boxes are mounted to the side of frames very often.
Did you get the 5/16 or 3/8 terminal block kit ?
??
3/8
Is that "installgear" 1/0 wire CCA or OFC? Your link is broken
@@ASEWorldClassTech CCA. They change the products all the time that mess up my links. Sorry about that.
What are those power distributors called????
Power banks. I have them linked in the description.
Damn you still waiting for those inner fenders?!?

You shoild cover the wire its exposed to weather, also the postive shouls be covered dont want something the geound out..
