So, the tread plate won't be seen with the bed on? Also, a thought: Have you tried tigging with your Miller? You'd have a lot more control over the weld and which is handy for times like the inside of your gusset.
Im going with the plan that my bed floor will be hinged which is why Im trying to make everything under it look nice (in the event that I decide to roll into the occasional car show etc). Oh yeah, its on my short list of things to learn. I’ve actually never tried tig welding so, Id rather practice on scrap first. But yes, TIG would have been ideal in this situation.
Its designed to fit a group 34/78 battery which is 11x7x7 roughly. Even if it sticks up past the frame rails its not an issue anyway because I step notched the frame… going to have a raised bed floor regardless.
never use a measuring instrument as a hammer.Saw a first year apprentice use a borrowed vernier to tap a part into place.Forman saw him and sent him away.

Wow! I dunno bout that but I love the sentiment!
That tread plate is a cool touch!
Right!? Its the little details that make me happy!
I mounted a similar battery box to my frame. Instead of a single battery, I used two Braille 3121s wired in parallel.
Very cool! Ive since gotten the whole system wired up. Check it out: th-cam.com/play/PLS6i13ij_WMmwcpofnsWqjymNiubw9MWG.html&si=qTUPKAirNsC4r3nG

That’s cool. Curious what the battery height is in relation to the battery box height? It going to cause any clearance issues with your bed?

It was just a teensy tinsy love tap to massage it down an 1/8” on a finger tight bolt lol.
