hp's windows installs are absolute garbage. I have an Pavilion x360 and with oem windows couldn't get pass 40 fps on Minecraft, then I reinstalled Windows (no bloat) and I get 200 fps now (with a lot of mods)

Although i was a big nerd so i managed to play every game i wanted with custom version of windows 10 (like atlas os) which are lightweight and also tweaking a lot of stuff. Gta v at lowest 720p 60 fps. Minecraft 200fps (with mods), hollow knight, celeste, subnautica and a bunch more. Mainly indie games but it was all worth the 100 dollar for that computer

Rn I'm rocking a rig with an intel xeon E5 1660 (6 core all core oc'ed to 4.0ghz), Vega 56 8gb, 32gb of ram, 256gb ssd for boot drive and a 1tb hdd for data storage and games. I built it for less than $150, which is less than a third of my laptop's cost😭

Noo but its better than what I had previous.

I relate to this to an unreasonable level. Back in 2019 when my mom got the rig I currently have I didn't know better and got a Ryzen 3 2200g with only 8 gigs of ram and no gpu. Later down the line I got 8 more gigs, 16 in total and a GTX 1650. The GTX 1650 got fried and I now have an RX 6600, which unfortunately gets bottlenecked like hell because of the cpu w integrated graphics.
Best budget pc experience is getting one of those HP desktop school computers, check what cpu it has, check gpu’s that don’t bottleneck like a gtx 1050 or something And you could play probably any game that hasn’t come out in the past 5 years

Integrated Graphics have come a long way since then. It's why most handheld PC's use them. You should get a laptop with either Radeon graphics (ryzen 6000 or above), or Arc graphics (Intel ultra gen). Those will allow you to at least play games like Fortnite, Valorant, and Minecraft.
used to have a chromebook as my laptop up until 2023 when i got a low end windows laptop, i still consider that shit better than the chromebook. thankfully i was lucky enough it broke down early enough to where i could get a better computer that Christmas

I got my 200 dollar pc as a refurbished piece from walmart, and I'm telling you.. it runs GTA 5 really good on normal settings, and even high if you prefer 60 fps, but I'm more of a 100 fps guy.. and look.. take those donations.. and buy.. a 200 dollar pc from Walmart. Just make sure to avoid the ones that list 4 or 8gb. Get a 16gb or higher, and GPU does count. I have an intel i5 with a GT 1030, so it's a budget pc.

thats what getting a prebuilt/laptop does, if you build it yourself you can get 120fps stable for €600 with a TON of mods and with shaders
if you're experienced enough, you can get a way better deal building it yourself but prebuilts can be okay value

I got my 200 dollar pc as a refurbished piece from walmart, and I'm telling you.. it runs GTA 5 really good on normal settings, and even high if you prefer 60 fps, but I'm more of a 100 fps guy.. and look.. take those donations.. and buy.. a 200 dollar pc from Walmart. Just make sure to avoid the ones that list 4 or 8gb. Get a 16gb or higher, and GPU does count. I have an intel i5 with a GT 1030, so it's a budget pc.
