What an awesome idea to knit the world together. Imagine if everyone dedicated themselves to a craft! No body would fight. Everyone would be too busy finishing up their projects.

This planet sure needs more people like Shelley... to LISTEN to what she doesn't know, to TRY to understand where others are coming from, and do whatever she can to help opposing parties realize that we all live on this planet, and as long as we listen to each other, and respect each other, the world can become a better place. We all bleed and we all feel hurts, we all feel joy, we all misunderstand, but we all need to try to understand what someone else's shoes feel like. Thanks Shelley for being a KIND, and bright light in this world!! KNIT ON!!! :)

I love how you connected this "simple" hobby to the mission of connection the world and go beyond polarization, way to go Shelley ! ;)

I love the idea of "craftivism". Most of the perceptions I got from family and friends around hobbies when I was younger were that hobbies were a personal thing, to be enjoyed in solitude. Unless your hobby was a social game like Scrabble, you were supposed to keep that passion not only in a discrete corner of your life, but also pretty much secret.
The idea that knitters could come together from all corners of the world simply amazes me. It makes so much sense once you know that it's "a thing". But it's so counter-intuitive to what most people (in my Caribbean-born culture) would first intuit.
    Thanks for this talk, Shelley!
