@@noblej7897: Jewelbird Mask, Tenebrous armour and Master Trader boots are the fastest combo with the right enchantments. Confirmed that personally. You can even force an extra 3% speed out with a Three Brothers Lexicon enchant if you really want, though it probably isn't worth it.

Side note this is also a great dot(damage over time) build. The horror now does extreme poison dmg, there’s a Hunter Skill That instantly applies extreme bleed, use that skill to apply the bleed dot, use and obsidian pistol to apply burn. Used with the wind sigil you not only hit for a ton of lightening damage but if they survive they have the burn to finish them off. In short you’ve now applied: Extreme Poison Extreme Bleed Burn Once those statuses are applied you can just pelt them with arrows or just run around until the dots finish them off. And also, Don’t cook just the jewel meat. Make the Diadème de Gibier meal (Jewel meat+meat+cactus fruit+salt) Cactus fruit can also be farmed aplenty in Abrassar as well. You get speed bonus plus -25 Stamina reduction and protection against hot weather. You not only get to run faster but longer before running out of stamina.
Best build so far Not even bc how op it is he actually goes into detail and shows how to do things a lot of other builds skipped important steps so I’d get nowhere I’ redownloaded outward and it’s only been a few hours so far and I’m making really good progress
Outward is such a fantastic game and there's such a large variety of builds that I almost feel guilty about the fact that I always roll as a Warrior Monk/Rune Mage/Shaman.
hibrid magic is quite fun. you can try to focus on magic without forgetting about weapons. if the build is spoiler don't read but 1º town trainer with weapon shot + shaman magic with weapon buff makes you quite versatile and it grants a permanent buff that doesn't depend on resins to work. I know you can go 3 trainers but the main combo is there. Other things are just an addition. About how many points in magic to invest...it depends how you manage and your other trainer but if you don't want to spent too much mana: what works for me is sleeping a lot to have the max health posible and having the mana needed to land the combo (infuse weapon+reveal soul + spark) x2 beacuse your maximun mana is halved when you sleep a lot.

Goodness gracious my luck has been absolutely great! I did not know the bird mask was this helpful. Got the mask while farming for eggs just outside first town. And been keeping it for the movement speed while working for the scaled leather armors. And then I found your guide, thinking, yeah, let's try this one, speed build is so practical. Trying to travel to next map, enmerkar for the master trader garb in immaculate and on the purple mountain of chersonesse, I saw the travelling merchant and lo, selling me the master trader boots. I was bringing with me my 13 gold pieces from farming (probably from your vid also for the crafting-selling-sleeping in cierzo) so no problem buying it. And when in enmerkar, trying to find the immaculate, dropped by a wooden trunk near village ruins and cabal wind temple, and what do you know, master trader garb in the trunk! So I'm stopping by at berg to sleep then probably proceed to the desert town for movement speed skills. If I haven't found your vid as one of the search results, then I would probably ignore the master trader equip, trying to look for better resistances & weather def. i am new to the game i am trying your build ands i am having a bug with bow and stamina drain , unable to shoot and stamina drain to 0 , only way to fix it seem to be relog but it always happen again :( any idea how to fix it ?

At this point you either do step 6 or you farm up the Ornate Chests in Chersonese. In doing so you will have a 6% chance to get a War Bow for free , and even if you don't you make money much faster than farming the starter town. Obviously having as much movement speed as possible before you farm the ornate chests is optimal, but it depends on how much coin you are willing to grind out in the starter town. After you're happy with your free bow or the coin you've made, finish step 6 if you haven't already, and then finish step 4, 7, 9 and 10.
You can also completely ignore step 9 by going to the Cabal of Wind Temple during step 5 (recommend getting at least the Master Trader Garb from the Immaculate first if you don’t already have it) and luring the 5 shell horrors to the center and killing them with the blast trap. With the speed you get from the gear you can out maneuver the enemies. It’s a lot easier than fighting the two in the desert (and then you can either sell the 3 extra for 60 silver each or save them and craft another horror bow and sell it for 750 silver) plus you can find the Thrice-Wrought Halberd (sells for 750 silver) but you need to go around to the back entrance. Pro tip, never keep weapons in your inventory that don’t sell for absurd amounts of coin, aren’t unique, or you don’t use. They take up large amounts of inventory space for pitiful amounts of coin. Happy hunting!

Hey, this was the build I made back in the day with my buddy. I traveled so fast but he refused to get out of heavy armor. I would have enough time to run ahead, make it the destination, and run all the way back to him before he was even halfway across the map.
Literally all of your reasons are "move fast". You only had to say "moving fast is why it's good" but you put actual effort into it. I'm impressed. You got a new sub here. I don't even know what this game is lol.

Very good guide but you can get even more movment speed when you upgrade this gear even further with legacy chest to jewel bird mask (gives 4% more movment speed)
basically morrowind but even more immersive and hardcore even if not beautiful. I recommand to play in hardcore mod, you can permadeath around 35 pourcent chances in case of defeat
It's an absolutely incredible game. Made by 10 people in Quebec, Canada, and is based around split-screen, couch-coop gameplay. This game is MEANT to br played 2 players. It's a love letter to every old-school RPG fan
I just followed this build, recently got into Outward, Might be easier to get Horror Chitins at Cabal of Wind Temple in Emerrkar, just run past the Immaculate at the entrance, kite all of the horrors to the main room then use the instant kill switch lever on them.
That way is faster for sure (and so much fun haha) but in this guide I wanted to display how the build can achieve its goals without the easy route and it was a good excuse to show some more of how the build functions Thanks for watching :)
When I watch other people vids they are always like "this armor set DAMAGE ...uugh! This set PROTECTION aaargh!" - boys ... just a moment ... master trader combo of hat + boots gives you 20% movement speed and 20% stamina cost reduction bonuses (15+5 /5+15). And an additional 4 pocket capacity. This is massive! In the game you walk--run and use stamina /backpack whole the time - these bonuses are pretty much essential. Plus as armor they are fairly adequate - not best but certainly not bad. Also when I travel in between cities I put the chicken mask, then I have +15 +20 =35% speed and for stamina, I eat cooked egg or bread with jam +water. You can run from city to city in no time, without pause! Just assign that "auto run" key from settings.

I remember playing this game sometime last year. I stopped at the swamp city since I was having a hard time progressing and dying a lot. I enjoyed the immersion though so I think I'll pick it up again and try this build. I remember thinking the backpack system was dope.

Tyler Schramm Lol, I got the mask like three times in one day. Was doing this speed build a long time ago. Had a buddy who wanted to tank but he wouldn’t take one of my mask out of spite. Since he was a heavy armor boy, I had to wait for him to just get to the location while I was already there.
one major tip i've been having really good luck with is to merge the pearl bird farming with the alchemy brewing and a few runs to vendavel. it's a relatively slim time save but the way it breaks up the monotony cannot be understated.

I spent hours on the master garb, if you can trigger the friendly Immaculate death, ask him for equipment and he will give you the garb, Love your guides!
I don't know if it's just my game or if they patched something; when I went to kill the shell horror @ 12:00 in the wind shrine every time I would go inside after shooting it with my pistols it would have full health again. I eventually gave up and went and killed the one by the wind shrine where you pick up the wind magic. (Can't spell it, not going to try.) It's a easy alternative for anyone else having trouble getting that second one. Thanks for this build Churchy, it has been a blast zooming around.
Love your build! Personally I opt for entomber armor chest piece, for better defense (I like halberds, so I needed it). I also use hound mask for that extra damage. But holy cow does my character fly on the battlefield! Thank you for making this build, I hope to see more videos of outward. (Especially that Trog build you got going!)

3:00 - "Kill Pearlbirds to find a Pearlbird mask. This might take 10 minutes or two hours, the drop chance is 2.4%" Two hours my magical ass, it took two days. I got callouses on my knees crawling in and out of that miserable flea infested tent. Can't tell you how many times I watched the seasons change. Worst grind I ever did. Increased movement speed by 15%.
Oddly, I never seem to have any trouble finding Pearlbird masks. Usually, I just let the hyenas eat them first, and it drops fantastically. I decided to wait it out and passed it aaall the way down through Legacy Chests. Preferably the two easiest Legacy Chests accessibly. The Jewel Bird Mask is noice. 19% speed is noticable...
Nice stats. Looks like arse. The black pearlbird intermediary step with the 17% looks better. Leaves a dude questioning whether an extra 2% is worth it. Then I remember I always need more speed.

you can legacy-upgrade the pearlbird mask 2 times to get it to (i think) 19% speed bonus and more physical resistances. either kite through the spire of light and hit all the levers to get the legacy chest there, or join a faction ASAP, and do the vendavel quest to get the town key for the legacy chest in cierzo storage. those are pretty much the easiest legacy chests you can do without any skill investment

I CAN CONFIRM YOU CAN GET FASTER. THE TENEBROUS CHESTPIECE CAN BE ENCHANTED WITH CREATIVITY AND DESTRUCTION, GIVING A 10% MOVEMENT SPEED BOOST, ASWELL AS THE MASTER TRADER BOOTS WITH FLUX TO GIVE A +3 MOVEMENT BUFF. MY TEST WENT PERFECT.
So I bought this game, and then ended up refunding it because I could not for the life of me get a good start going. I was also very overwhelmed with how to actually achieve anything...but yeah, seeing videos like this, definitely makes me want to buy it again.....xD

You know, despite completing the souls and bloodborne games, I was the same with Outward. I just couldn't get used to this game. However, with a lot of persevering, it's a good (if somewhat flawed) game. My advice is to treat every enemy like it can kill you (because it can) and use fang weapons early (an iron mace or sword from bandits + predator bones from hyenas + linen from most cloth items). Add a shield to that and it's a great start (I'm not saying it's the best build in the world but it will make life a lot easier). Oh, and traps. Lay down trap triggers and spikes before encounters much quicker.

Tip: the trader guy with the deer whos has the boots will sometimes not have it on him if this happens walk kinda far from him sleep for 24 hours in the tent then walk back to him if he is gone go back to the same spot and go to sleep 24 hours again then go check on him rinse and repeat on he should have the trader boots your welcome.
Day 3, my movement speed is at 26%. Almost 5 hours total of farming and still no pearlbird mask, 2.4% is really harsh ngl Thank you for the guide a little direction is nice when you have no idea what your doing lol
I took your advice. I camped the ceirzo entrance. Killed stuff for 4 hours. the load times are the most annoying part. speed is amazing with the mask though. but jesus what a grind. Immediately shut the game off after getting the mask. 2 hours i would say would be generally very lucky.
I played some multiplayer a while back with a mate and we were determined to get her a mask, we spent like 4 hrs one sesh doing the cierzo camp, gave up totally after that and the next sesh just played the game haha It's so rough sometimes but so simple to get other times...

Get 3 scaled leather in total from the soroborean caravaneer while farming in cierzo and combine them with a primitive satchel in your crafting menu

I just followed this build, recently got into Outward, Might be easier to get Horror Chitins at Cabal of Wind Temple in Emerrkar, just run past the Immaculate at the entrance, kite all of the horrors to the main room then use the instant kill switch lever on them.
That way is faster for sure (and so much fun haha) but in this guide I wanted to display how the build can achieve its goals without the easy route and it was a good excuse to show some more of how the build functions

I have played as a heavy knight, but usually have had some equip with me for faster traveling. Speed is such a comfort in this game.
When I watch other people vids they are always like "this armor set DAMAGE ...uugh! This set PROTECTION aaargh!" - boys ... just a moment ... master trader combo of hat + boots gives you 20% movement speed and 20% stamina cost reduction bonuses (15+5 /5+15). And an additional 4 pocket capacity. This is massive! In the game you walk--run and use stamina /backpack whole the time - these bonuses are pretty much essential. Plus as armor they are fairly adequate - not best but certainly not bad. Also when I travel in between cities I put the chicken mask, then I have +15 +20 =35% speed and for stamina, I eat cooked egg or bread with jam +water. You can run from city to city in no time, without pause! Just assign that "auto run" key from settings.

Tyler Schramm Lol, I got the mask like three times in one day. Was doing this speed build a long time ago. Had a buddy who wanted to tank but he wouldn’t take one of my mask out of spite. Since he was a heavy armor boy, I had to wait for him to just get to the location while I was already there.

one major tip i've been having really good luck with is to merge the pearl bird farming with the alchemy brewing and a few runs to vendavel. it's a relatively slim time save but the way it breaks up the monotony cannot be understated.
side note...if having issues killing shell horrors you can always kill them in the wind temple in berg pretty easily.

Soroborean Caravaneer also sells the "Master Trader boots." Keep an eye out while you are grinding gold in town.
I spent hours on the master garb, if you can trigger the friendly Immaculate death, ask him for equipment and he will give you the garb, Love your guides!

This is the exact build that I used when playing the game, almost like a cheat code because you could always run and gun.
it's definitely fun stacking move speed but it's worth mentioning the Jewel Bird Mask for sure
I don't know if it's just my game or if they patched something; when I went to kill the shell horror @ 12:00 in the wind shrine every time I would go inside after shooting it with my pistols it would have full health again. I eventually gave up and went and killed the one by the wind shrine where you pick up the wind magic. (Can't spell it, not going to try.) It's a easy alternative for anyone else having trouble getting that second one.

Love your build! Personally I opt for entomber armor chest piece, for better defense (I like halberds, so I needed it). I also use hound mask for that extra damage. But holy cow does my character fly on the battlefield! Thank you for making this build, I hope to see more videos of outward. (Especially that Trog build you got going!)

Two hours my magical ass, it took two days. I got callouses on my knees crawling in and out of that miserable flea infested tent. Can't tell you how many times I watched the seasons change.
Worst grind I ever did. Increased movement speed by 15%.
Took me about 2 and a half hours, damn shit drop chance but well worth it once you have one

Oddly, I never seem to have any trouble finding Pearlbird masks. Usually, I just let the hyenas eat them first, and it drops fantastically. I decided to wait it out and passed it aaall the way down through Legacy Chests. Preferably the two easiest Legacy Chests accessibly.
The Jewel Bird Mask is noice. 19% speed is noticable...
Nice stats. Looks like arse. The black pearlbird intermediary step with the 17% looks better. Leaves a dude questioning whether an extra 2% is worth it. Then I remember I always need more speed.
Would you make another updated speed build? Since the new DLC came out with new enchantment? Love this build of urs. Made the really tedious part of the game bearable.

Tip: trader guy is pretty close to the imaculate once you exit the cave go left and keep walking left he is somewhere around there

I think the pro move here is to skip steps 4 for now, finish step 5 at which point if you're in the hallow marsh to get the boots you also do step 8. At this point you either do step 6 or you farm up the Ornate Chests in Chersonese. In doing so you will have a 6% chance to get a War Bow for free , and even if you don't you make money much faster than farming the starter town. Obviously having as much movement speed as possible before you farm the ornate chests is optimal, but it depends on how much coin you are willing to grind out in the starter town.
After you're happy with your free bow or the coin you've made, finish step 6 if you haven't already, and then finish step 4, 7, 9 and 10.

you can legacy-upgrade the pearlbird mask 2 times to get it to (i think) 19% speed bonus and more physical resistances. either kite through the spire of light and hit all the levers to get the legacy chest there, or join a faction ASAP, and do the vendavel quest to get the town key for the legacy chest in cierzo storage. those are pretty much the easiest legacy chests you can do without any skill investment

I CAN CONFIRM YOU CAN GET FASTER. THE TENEBROUS CHESTPIECE CAN BE ENCHANTED WITH CREATIVITY AND DESTRUCTION, GIVING A 10% MOVEMENT SPEED BOOST, ASWELL AS THE MASTER TRADER BOOTS WITH FLUX TO GIVE A +3 MOVEMENT BUFF. MY TEST WENT PERFECT.

So I bought this game, and then ended up refunding it because I could not for the life of me get a good start going. I was also very overwhelmed with how to actually achieve anything...but yeah, seeing videos like this, definitely makes me want to buy it again.....xD
that just sounds like poor game development. a game should guide you at least a little bit.

You know, despite completing the souls and bloodborne games, I was the same with Outward. I just couldn't get used to this game. However, with a lot of persevering, it's a good (if somewhat flawed) game. My advice is to treat every enemy like it can kill you (because it can) and use fang weapons early (an iron mace or sword from bandits + predator bones from hyenas + linen from most cloth items). Add a shield to that and it's a great start (I'm not saying it's the best build in the world but it will make life a lot easier). Oh, and traps. Lay down trap triggers and spikes before encounters much quicker.

How to get high movement: Put your character name Code Sonic
Tip: the trader guy with the deer whos has the boots will sometimes not have it on him if this happens walk kinda far from him sleep for 24 hours in the tent then walk back to him if he is gone go back to the same spot and go to sleep 24 hours again then go check on him rinse and repeat on he should have the trader boots your welcome.

Wow i didn't realize how lucky i was to get my pearl bird mask on the 3rd bird I killed. First playthrough!
Day 3, my movement speed is at 26%. Almost 5 hours total of farming and still no pearlbird mask, 2.4% is really harsh ngl

Movement speed is a over looked defence mechanic in a lot of games.
I took your advice. I camped the ceirzo entrance. Killed stuff for 4 hours. the load times are the most annoying part. speed is amazing with the mask though. but jesus what a grind. Immediately shut the game off after getting the mask. 2 hours i would say would be generally very lucky.
I played some multiplayer a while back with a mate and we were determined to get her a mask, we spent like 4 hrs one sesh doing the cierzo camp, gave up totally after that and the next sesh just played the game haha
