Is the 2nd detonation the effect of the last mage rune skill you can learn? (the one that makes runes more powerfull or give extra effect) i've learned the ability to cast runes without the book, to combine it with chakram stuff Extra question: how do people roll with a backpack without the rolling movement penalty?
4:02 Update after 1 year: With the upcoming update, the 1H Runic Blade will no longer act as a lexicon. While the 2H Runic Greatsword will now act as a lexicon. So you can cast Runic Magic with the 2H Runic Greatsword equipped without the Internalized Lexicon passive.
For everyone who was as confused as me in thinking whats the point of having a manual detonation button for the mine, considering it explodes on its own if an enemy walks on it, you can place the trap -> aggro the enemy -> cast the red rune once -> let the enemy walk into the trap in the next few seconds -> cast the red rune again for the trigger = you get a double explosion and basically double damage
I would advice against Internalized Lexicon. You can find a Book that amplifies the effects of every runes in a dungeon. Also, the added effects on every spell are incredibly strong.

Flamethrower is just more reliably, and when the fire dot is allowed to do its job, with blocking/kiting, even then it catches up in dps. Chakram need the disciple boon active to even be used... Focus from war monk, gives a 250s buff, burns max stam, and has a 500s cd.. meaning a 50% downtime you can't even use your chakram. I did rune mage and necromancy so that the summon can draw agro and I can cast more spells. If you get the special lexicon and the gold lich armor it cost almost no mana to do spells

Rune Magic is really great and helpful to a lot of builds. I chose Internalized Lexicon for my chakram build since runic protection is just awesome and the runic trap lets you decimate ghosts that your chakram can have trouble taking down since you can't apply ethereal damage to it. The rune lantern is probably one of the best sources of light in the game as well comparable to the glowstone backpack.

depends on how much mana reduction you get, I think if you get between 50-70% then you should get about 100 to account for having half mana and having to use your spells to get to max. If you have more than that then you can get away with 40-60.

Then combine thick oil + water to make warm potions, and combine star mushrooms + turnips + water to make astral potions, sell them, go to sleep in house for 3 days then buy it and craft again. I made like 3000 silver in 40 minutes doing this.
Im trying to do melee build with heavy armor and buffing myself with fire boons and lighting my weapon on fire with azerite spellblade skill tree abilities. I just wonder how hard it will be to maintain enough mana to keep buffs up with heavy armor... Maybe I need to take passive mana regen and increased mana pool from philosophical tree. Philosopher tree also has that fire affinity for increased fire dmg and protection which really works with build in my mind I think... now I just need a lot of silver xD As thir tree maybe shaman for summon :D
40 is enough but if you planning to use mana to only buff your weapon I recommend not having mana at all. Don't sacrifice health and stamina, instead use the Bolt, Spiritual, Ice, Dark, Fire, Poison Varnish and Rag items to add effects to your weapon. As for skills choose from these guys; at Cierzo, Kazite Spellblade. At Berg, Wild Hunter(take Breakthrough). At Levant, Mercenary(take Breakthrough). At Monsoon, Warrior Monk(take Breakthrough). If you decide to go full spellblade and have mana, take shield + one-handed mace. There is a guy in Berg right next to the smith that teaches a skill which makes you able to hit an incoming elemental attack with your make and it adds that element effect to your mace, you can combo that with spellblade skills. As for breakthrough, you don't have to take skill from wild hunter now.
I went full mana and I have now 140HP/140Stam/215mana Trained in spellblade(for HP), runes and Paladin(for Discipline). So with this I stay strong with any enemy infront of my char. Bosses are going down pretty smoothly, when I combine good defences (around 75 with buff, Decay i can make 90(Lich set)) , 4 points of protection (enough for 3-4 hits from boss). With fast enemies i switch to summoned blade or Wold-rune blade (electrical) which have two OP elements and go melee. For muiltiple enemies I spam runic-trap which is OP as it staggers an enemy and you have time to cast another one. There is runic heavy armor in Berg and very good 2H sword (drops from Epic Manticore and has electr.element) in the Ruins in the middle west of the Enmarkar forest. ...If you like tanky build. =============== One more suggestion - mana regen is very poor. You get only 0.15/sec from the passive and 0.2 if you are tired (0.3 if extremely tired)but you get -15%Stamina-regen (-30% if too tired) which is lame. I have with me around 40 mana potions and ~10 big mana potions, as they are so easy to make and are not consumed so fast
Yet another hard decision I have to make.. lol Internalized lexicon or prefix hmmm... I really love 2handers but i wanna be able to cast spells with it out, but the Light menders lexicon has nice bonus. Decisions, decisions

They updated it you can now cast runes with the two handed sword.
How come I dont hold the lexicon like that I hold it in front of my face like I'm trying to hide and it annoys me so much
Awesome video well done and thank you.
Will there be an Archer Guide? ...probably not, because bows disappear from your inventory when you dodge...
Damn, I noticed that actually. Really annoying bug. I want to do an archer guide so bad.
th-cam.com/video/ZVAlsmE5tj0/w-d-xo.html
Yes! I've had so many bows dissapear in the middle of combat :( . which is sad because bow combat is amazing in this game.
@@madthorn3094 Bows are rather underpowered compared to every other weapon, even with coral bow or horror w/ skills. At the very least in co-op they are.
got the game yesterday, literally raced home from work to play today and now steam is down for all of europe :(
I messed up and didn't get the internalized off hand rune skill T_T now I have to keep holding this damn book instead of a staff or something
i love how this game looks is there co-op?
thunderborn 32 yes
Is it possible for a type of magic archer build? Like enchanting your weapon with a fire buff to shot fire arrows or shot special elemental shots?
Unfortunately that isn't possible.
@@Pohvi Aw that sucks.
Unrelated, but have you figured out what to do with the "strange rusty sword" on top of Conflux Mountain?
Endo Roboto gotta add a special item from the 3 black Smith’s I’m pretty sure
Yeah, you'll find some special items at all 3 cities i'm pretty sure. One is a broken alchemists bottle, a wizards pokey stick and the blacksmiths vintage hammer, combine them with the strange rusty sword and it makes BRAND. The Un-rusted 1h weapon that inflicts chill and pain which increase the amount of frost and phsical damage you do to an enemy. (it's good as hell) Hope this helps.
Thanks for the tips guys.
If you get a quest from Risa to help Cierzo from a bandit raid, do everything and do that immediately. Leaving the first region while the quest is active instantly fails it and it blocks off Cierzo forever. I think it's forever, the damn tree is still blocking my city. I put my rusted sword in the chest of the light house.
Very useful!
I love the gothic 3 music xD
When I cast the magic mine near an enemy it seems to just kind of disappear rather than detonating edit: Haven't noticed this in a while. Must've been fixed. Or it was my imagination
the background music from gothic 3 :D love it xD
I know this is many years later but for a build similar to your paladin would i be better off using prefix blade or infusing a physical sword?
Great Videos !
How much mana should you get for an effective pure rune mage build?
depends on how much mana reduction you get, I think if you get between 50-70% then you should get about 100 to account for having half mana and having to use your spells to get to max. If you have more than that then you can get away with 40-60.
Can you do similar videos on all the skill lines, even if they are shorter I would love that
In the process of doing that actually.
I wonder where did you learn this? Through inside game or walkthrough from random websites?
If I remember correctly the wiki for Outward was already pretty deep, so I got most of the info from there.
I rather have the passive that nullifies the need for a lexicon plus I can cast spells with staffs which reduces the mana cost, from the video u dont seem to get a buff with the mine trap when u unlock the passive
Csn you use a staff as a melee weapon also?
El Gringo Feo if you get the light lexicon that gives you 10%-15% mana reduction and if your off hand is the jade mace that’s another 10% now match that up with the robes, hat and the gold litch boots you dont lose mana from being 100% mana reduction cost OH and the wizard backpack
How much Health would you recommend losing when granting mana?
I know this isn't the right place to ask but how do i deal with the bee swarms that the Hive monsters send at me? is running the only way? i tried it with a torch didn't work...
Not gonna lie I bought a bunch of lanterns and just kept throwing them kinda cheesy but it worked lol
@@Razie1201 i realized that killing them fast is the best solution. sometimes the bees even went back inside the monster when you were standing close to them.
Love your work man, will runic spells do different things when casting them in a wind/fire/ice siegel? Would be interesting to test...
I don't think so, but I didn't test it.
@@click4gameplay cheers for the response man, may be worth testing, would make runic magic even more diverse which would be interesting. love your work Man keep it up 😁👍
Love it. Just got the game on xbox haven't played yet. Is there any other magic where you could make a full mage build?
i have it too on xbox wanna coop?
Hey great video, but what armor is that? I really want it
thank you bud!
I'm confused why you said there are only 4 combinations. There are 4 runes and you use 2 at a time, assuming you can't do 2 of the same (DD, EE, FF, SS) and order doesn't matter, should there be 6 possibilities: DE, DF, DS, EF, ES, and FS?
Great vid!!!!
Btw, how do you manage your Burnt Mana? I'm having issues with that
You have to cast more spells to fix you burnt mana, or certain items I believe... soothing tea? Also never sleep unless you want to use the mage tent. Sleeping burns your mana and not sleeping gives you a mana regen if you can deal with the stamina regen nerf.
@@auraegis5286 ohh! 1) where do I get mage tent? 2) no sleep slows your Stamina regen? 3) is sleeping the ONLY way to Burn your Mana?
@@pemocity1450 1 Lavant for the tent, I think it still burns mana (not sure as I was about to buy it right before I stopped playing due to my stuff vanishing, pls fix) but you get a like 15% cost reduction buff. 2 sleeping does but give you the mana regen buff so you have to decide how you want to balance that out, I have not gotten the second level of not sleeping since I forget about it sometimes and can't find it online annoyingly so not sure how that is. And yes, only sleeping will burn your mana unless there is another way I am not aware of. So yea, dont sleep when possible and use the various teas to fix your burnt health/stamina/mana, some foods fix it as well.
@@auraegis5286 thanks for the info! Btw, before your staff vanished, had you previously logged out outside of a town? Cuss the item vanishing bug seems to happen when I log out outside of towns, to me.
@@pemocity1450 It was anywhere really you could put all your stuff in your pockets to prevent it apparently but I just decided to wait. And I just found out there is a patch today on the PS4 to fix all the issues I had so yay! I can finally play it again! They plan to work on textures and stuff next so that is nice, maybe we poor console peasants can see the rain one day and not just randomly become wet, I mean I was excited to leave my house the first time and face the angry mob but I was not THAT excited.
It whas a bug that you could cast runes whit the 2 handed sword provided from runes it is already fixed, so now you dont need the lexicon part at the top if you whant to go for the 2hand sword
can you make a video about how to make a good amount of money? or how you make money? thanks!
Easiest way to make money is buy upp all thick oil, star mushroom, turnips in the starting town. Then combine thick oil + water to make warm potions, and combine star mushrooms + turnips + water to make astral potions, sell them, go to sleep in house for 3 days then buy it and craft again. I made like 3000 silver in 40 minutes doing this.
Thank you
nice magic video :D!
Philosopher tree also has that fire affinity for increased fire dmg and protection which really works with build in my mind I think... now I just need a lot of silver xD
As thir tree maybe shaman for summon :D
40 is enough but if you planning to use mana to only buff your weapon I recommend not having mana at all. Don't sacrifice health and stamina, instead use the Bolt, Spiritual, Ice, Dark, Fire, Poison Varnish and Rag items to add effects to your weapon. As for skills choose from these guys; at Cierzo,
Kazite Spellblade. At Berg,
Wild Hunter(take Breakthrough).
@@harklight1526 okey thanks for the build idea. I was thinking of going elemental discharge though for bit of hybrid melee/caster.
I went full mana and I have now 140HP/140Stam/215mana
Trained in spellblade(for HP), runes and Paladin(for Discipline).
===============
One more suggestion - mana regen is very poor.
And none of them are projectiles?
If you want to be cheesy get 1 mana, play sort of a shaman and when you get the >=100% mana reduction go rune mage.
Yet another hard decision I have to make.. lol Internalized lexicon or prefix hmmm... I really love 2handers but i wanna be able to cast spells with it out, but the Light menders lexicon has nice bonus. Decisions, decisions
Casting runes will make your character to sheathe his/her weapons, which is pretty annoying and animation is too long.
So the internal lexicon is useful only for players with offhand pistol, chacram or shield
@@jeanwinter5275 well thats kinda dumb. still would be better than breaking the 2h spell pulling out the lexicon, casting say the magic trap and then having to cast again for the 2h.
Either way I already went with prefix :P
Damn been enjoying the hell out of the game but now my pc crashes every time I try and load into my character :(
try starting it by adding its shortcut to steam (if u have it pirated, since this happened 10 minutes ago to me, opened outward thru steam and it solved it)
@@adrian-ei6lw Wooooooow. Actually advertising that you're cheap and trash enough to pirate games. Why would you even pirate this game instead of supporting the indie company so they can continue to make games? Vile, just vile.
I bet a really strong build would be a trap mage. Spec as mage and rouge. You can set 3 type of traps and re arm traps if you do this build. Nothing would be able to touch you
Seems like a very cheesy build. Very powerful but I can see it getting boring after you one-shot everything besides endgame bosses.
Wiki now says the blade also counts as a lexicon
Yup, I missed that.
@@click4gameplay which faction and classes you recommend for Runic mage build mate?

Thanks
I wanna love this game so bad but the inventory deletion bugs have forever spoiled my experiences with this game
May sound weird but why does your character hold the book differently from console? Yours looks natural, but in my game they hold the book straight out and it looks awkward and stiff.
That's a bug actually that should get patched.
@@click4gameplay Hopefully. As soon. It looks odd and goofy and honestly the one thing I hate about Runic Sage
Does the pot head piece increase your mana?
Can you fire infuse a runic blade?
