    Another thing i realised as well is that a lot of corporations are pushing the guilt on the consumer for recycling/being green, when they have the money and facilities to change that themselves (packaging, collection points, etc.). Chucking in another reason to relieve guilt on us conscientious consumers :)

      YES! Ohhh that would've been a nice one to add. Do you mind if I pin your comment? Maybe it'll help others, too:)
      Some people told me my being so focused on the environment wouldn't do **anything** anyway as it's indeed the big companies that are mostly to blame. But fact is that it always helps (if you take that comment literally I mean, the way I tend to do haha), even if just for a teeny tiny bit, and so I kept focusing on being sustainable. But luckily I'm now more and more able to put things in perspective: yes, every bit helps and thus me doing sustainable things also helps, albeit for just the tiniest bit, but it won't matter all too much if those big corporations kinda like keep 'undoing our efforts' and quite likely even adding onto it at the same time. And so I'd indeed say that our mental health is definitely the thing that should always come first, no matter what anyone would like us to believe - including any voices inside our heads 🩷

      @@AutisMinasClearingClutter yep totally nailed it!! feel free to pin :)
      yeah really agree with your points, it's important to try and i will push sustainability for evs (cos we got one planet and i love it and i want to protect it)
      but yeah i burned myself out after a while. A healthy mix of trying my best and not beating myself up if I slip up a little is my approach now haha

      Same! I can't help but still try and incorporate sustainability, but luckily now with less added stress:) I'm happy the same goes for you now!

    I love the idea of being able to see everything and to have it in categories! And, I appreciate the way you outline your goals. That's inspiring and helpful.

      I'm glad you think so, thank you! Right? When I started to look at things differently, right before I started my channel and in fact when I was working on that kitchen drawer where it says something like 'I already decluttered this drawer', I realized a few things. For example how it didn't make sense that I for example had batteries in that drawer, whereas my chargers and other electrical stuff were stored in my living room cabinet. Why keep them seperated? And on top of it I stored both new and empty ones in there so that I had to test them first to be able to see which one was which. It was actually working on that drawer that made me think that through a bit more and made me realize I should categorize things into use rather than just fitting them whereever I initially stored them when I got my furniture (which I think is basically what I did). I don't even remember but there were things in that drawer that just didn't make sense at all to be there, in hind sight. I made before and after pictures and intend to share them some day in a video around my kitchen and decluttering and organizing it, so that might be helpful too.
      I'm so glad you think so as I didn't have that at first. But when I reread my script I realized I didn't really have a 'why' outlined and so I added it. And then thought how it might be helpful to have it on screen as well so you might even be able to screenshot it. I'm really happy to hear that it indeed turned out to be inspiring and helpful that way!
      I hope you'll have a lovely Sunday!

    Hello Mina. Great progress! You are growing in confidence. Your new drawers and clear bins are so helpful. Yes, plastic, but as you rightly say, you will have them and use them forever.
    I have been inspired by a Canadian decluttering and organising expert, Clutterbug. If you haven’t seen her YT channel, have a look. She has four very interesting and helpful “types” who all approach decluttering differently. When I realised what my way of doing the clearing up and cleaning was according to her and how best to embrace that style, so much chaos in my brain vanished. I felt liberated, validated. The reason my house was a mess was because I tried to operate to “rules” that didn’t suit my nature. It’s fascinating. Have a look. That is not to negate your own independent thinking, just to give you another perspective to consider. Thank you for your videos. So nicely done. Enjoy your weekend. All the best, Clair

      Hi Clair, thank you so much! It's nice to hear that you see me growing in confidence. I actually just realized how different it is now for me to do all these things and make a video about it and everything. I have difficulties realizing these things but sometimes they just pop-up and reading your comment did so too. So thank you!
      Oh yes, I know Clutterbug. Typical of me to have completely forgotten what type I was, haha, because I did check a while ago. I just redid the test but I must have done it wrong because I don't agree with the description of the outcome (Bee). But I noticed I found it difficult to answer the questions now that I've been working on myself so much over the last couple of months. Because the way I used to do things wasn't necessarily a concious decision as much as it was me just having no clue what I was doing:). Isn't that interesting though, how much apparently has changed over such a short time? (Aww the realization is starting to come more and more now as I'm typing this, thank you!) I totally get what you mean though. I've been watching a lot of TH-cam videos and have been reading a lot about these things too as I too indeed welcome other perspectives, to then come up with something suited for me. Because I love learning new things and to see how I can use that new knowledge to change things for the better. Because all of those things combined can make such a huge difference to how we feel and go about our day. I believe it was in my first video (not sure though, but one of the first ones) that I shared that exact same thing: how I just always tried to follow the 'rules' on how things 'should' be done. Now that I put that aside things have changed so much.
      Again thank you so much, I really appreciate your comments and you sharing this tip and your experience with me. Have a lovely weekend, too!

      Hahaha! I’ve swapped bits of my style a few times with the Clutterbug theory. It doesn’t matter to be honest, I don’t think there is a right or wrong way, just what suits us at the time and we can always revisit. Have a look at my other favourite, Clutter Fairy. Gayle is a wonderful, plain speaking Texan, who is a very experienced decluttering professional. She is ably assisted by Ed her techy helper and each week they have a live show which is recorded and edited then appears on YT. I adore these two. They are wise, kind, laugh a lot and put so much effort into their projects. I can’t understand why they don’t have hundreds of followers. Check out the vids from the last few years, some of the very early ones from 8+ years ago have dreadful audio. As my Granny used to say, keep on keeping on! X

    • @AutisMinasClearingClutter
      @AutisMinasClearingClutter  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh I didn't know Clutter Fairy, thank you! And I fully agree, I think everyone has their own 'right' way that might be the 'wrong' one for others and in reverse. And we indeed don't need to hold on to what used to work or focus on making it work again. Instead we can just adjust to our current needs!
      I like that saying, thank you! I hope you'll have a lovely Sunday 🧡

    Congrats on how far you've come with the decluttering! 💛
    I love how you put those little touches of joy into your drawers. I'll steal that idea! 😁
    Did the grapes hold up well, when you stored them off the stalks? I always worry things will go bad, but having them prepared and ready to eat would be helpful, I think. (:
    And I can totally see how the fridge organisation bins feel adulty. 😄

    • @AutisMinasClearingClutter
      @AutisMinasClearingClutter  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you so much! Aww I love that, steal away! 🥰 It's little things like that that can really have a positive impact. I have more ideas like that that I plan on making a video about. But the main idea behind that is to just add these little sparks of joy here and there, such as the cute little bear keychain I put in my living room cabinet (the decluttering guilt video) or even the tiny hair clip I clipped on the trays in this video.
      I've always been afraid of that too! If you knew how much I've looked into that before ordering those things..... haha! Apparently the key is to wash them well, preferably with a bit of vinegar even to kill bacteria and mold growth, then rinse them and dry them really well. These baskets are special because any left over water will drip through the colander-like thingie and so the fruit will never lay in a pool of water. I've read you can put paper towel underneath instead too, but I'm trying to make it as easy as possible and so I preferred these bins. But just so you know that's an option too!
      I didn't use vinegar this time as I was too... restless, maybe? To do it like I was supposed to. I ate half of them for breakfast the day after and the other half for breakfast the day after that. They still looked perfectly fine and it gave me such joy and sense of calm in the morning that I could just poor them over my oatmeal without having to do anything else. I plan on testing them for a couple of weeks more and try and see how the fruit holds up. I mostly eat strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and grapes so I want to 'test' them all. Also for several days, because I read they can even stay like this for a week with people that only do one weekly prep! 😳 Once I've been able to try it all out and 'analyze' it all, I'll post a video about it, but for now it really does seem to work! Even if just for two days as I've done now, but I'm really curious if I could indeed do a weekly prep. That would be so amazing🥺 long answer haha hope this helps:)

      @@AutisMinasClearingClutter You are so right about that! 😊
      That sounds like yet another great video. 😁
      Oh, that's amazing! Those baskets are pretty clever things then. (: I never even thought of using vinegar, but I suppose that makes sense. Not sure if I could tolerate the scent, though. 😄 Perhaps if I focus on my germophobe side, and associate the smell with the riddance of ickiness. 😂
      Maybe an extra step was just not feasible for you at that time? Which would be totally understandable.
      That's great! I know I wouldn't have the capacity to prepare grapes right after getting up, (it's a miracle I can manage to make coffee 😂) so I can imagine how good it felt to have them ready to eat. 😊
      I hope that test goes well. (: A week would be quite amazing, I agree!
      It does definitely help, thank you so much! 💛(:

      Right? They're from The Home Edit/iDesign should you want to look them up:) I don't know your financial situation and if they'd even be an option as I find them quite expensive but considering how much I let go to waste and how I'm sometimes even avoiding fresh produce I thought I just had to see it as an investment for my health and make some wise decisions on my budget (uh-oh, me and wise? Haha).
      Ugh yes vinegar scent is so awful, right? I think touching in on that germophone side is definitely a wise thing, haha. And thinking about getting to eat all that yummie fruit in the morning🥰
      Aw yes thank you for that added perspective! I was already nervous about it all, I'm guessing because it's all so new and I don't handle 'new' well, and that was indeed an added step that just wasn't okay at that time🥰
      Yes, exactly! I love grapes but unfortunately I often let them go to waste (and they don't even go to waste that fast so imagine that...) because of the steps required before eating them. Especially in the morning! Even strawberries can just be too much for me and I just skip them. I even forbade myself to buy grapes for that reason... So this would be such an amazing solution to just not have to think about that ever again🥰
      I'm glad it helped, my pleasure!! I hope you'll have a lovely Sunday🧡

      @@AutisMinasClearingClutter Thanks! A bit pricey, yes, but if they keep their promise, they'd be worth it. As you say, it's an investment and they'll probably hold up a very long time. (:
      Yes! Prepping fruit whenever my energy peaks in the day/week, so I can eat it when it's low, would be really wise. :grin: I know eating fruit makes me instantly feel better.
      :yellow_heart:
      I'm right there with you. If too much at once is new, I get overwhelmed. Though on the other hand, I also crave newness in appropriate doses. :joy:
      That's entirely too relatable. :smile:
      I used to think I was just too lazy, but now I'm pretty sure it's just executive function related stuff.
      Thank you! :blush: I hope you are having a lovely Sunday, too. :yellow_heart:

    • @AutisMinasClearingClutter
      @AutisMinasClearingClutter  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @josiwho1203 yes exactly! I'd even go as far as to say it would be one of my best investments ever if this works out and makes me eat more fruit and not skip it on low energy moments (which then becomes even lower for not eating well and creates a nice vicious circle...).
      Oh yess haha I totally get that. I mean I was all up for having all this new organization stuff to improve my life and then when they arrived I was so confused with all its new-ness and it just felt like a lot haha. Funny how that works and can create exact opposites.
      Oh yes, I wonder if that's mostly because everyone just always keeps calling everyone lazy as soon as they're not being super active and keeping on track with everything. For me the difference is not doing something because you just don't feel like it and couldn't care less about stuff not being done vs really wanting to do it but somehow not being able to get up and do it and then feeling miserable about it ❤️‍🩹
      I'm just sitting down from prepping a week's worth of fruit and I'm so excited! This time I just filled a big glass salad bowl with water and vinegar and put everything in there. Then I put them in the colander thingies of the bins they are meant to go in and rinsed them. Now they're drying in their colanders. Hope I'm doing that right. When they're dry they can go into their bins and up up up into the fridge☺️ and then... hope for the best hahaha. I read/saw that you can use a salad spinner to dry prepped food with as well. Might be something I'll get at some point too, because now I'm wondering if leaving them out to dry like this is okay, haha let the confusion continue. But for now my impulsive brain needs to stop spending money🙃
      🧡🧡

      Thank you so much, makes me happy that you think so! I'm so happy with how it turned out, too. At first I thought this had to be a sort of in between option before I got the minimalistic matching spice jars I mentioned in the video and I actually prevented myself from buying them straight away for financial reasons. But I didn't realize how the jars my spices are originally in are already matching and looking really neat and pretty! I even had to change the voice over a bit because I thought it was a given that I'd need to decant them in time right upon the moment I finished the drawer. I mean I don't necessarily like the red lids but I don't think I'll be buying all those seperate jars that I'll then need to decant these into just to not have a red lid anymore. It's funny how me realizing these things always takes me a few days or weeks even haha. But now I'm extra happy with it, because your comment made me think about it some more. So thank you!🥰🥰
      I hope you'll enjoy your Sunday!🧡
