Thanks for this video it's 1 am rn but I'm going out on my balcony to paint the moon it's so beautiful tonight the stars too. I wrote some poetry tonight about the moon.
This will be useful when I paint the halo on my self portrait 😂. But seriously this is so useful. I've never even attempted candlelight before. I will now though. Thanks
Would you use this technique for painting the Aurora Borealis? I am finding painting an aurora is difficult..or else I am making it difficult! Thank you for this lesson!!
The difficulty in that particular subject is that it has a lot of blurry/soft transitions and with acrylics that can be quite a challenge. The techniques in this video will help, but in this case I also recommend premixing the main colors with a palette knife. Then you can easily concentrate on color mixing first and after that, you can concentrate on the painting process. Also you can more easily paint wet-in-wet then, because you don't lose time mixing during the painting process. Sometimes it can be useful to practice this first a couple of times just on small pieces of paper, the more often you do it, the more you get a feel for it. Hope it helps!👍🎨🎨
@@toon-nagtegaal ah-ha! Yes, this does help and yes I was making it more difficult by the approach I was using. I will practice. If the acrylic, and the brush ever gives me a break, I might be able to produce something decent! LOL! It is a learning process that requires patience with self and good teachers!! Thank you very much. Back to the paper for practice. I have had a few.....😖....LOL!
@@kathywolf4558 😂😂we all know the feeling. The learning process comes with ups and downs, but if everything would be easy and if everything went right the first time, then it would be very boring😂Sometimes it helps to think back to earlier 'challenges', things that you now do automatically / take for granted. Also I personally like to remind myself sometimes, that we're doing something very magical: creating the illusion of depth on a flat surface, no wonder that that's difficult sometimes. 👍👍
Thank you! Excellent instructions - very helpful.
You're welcome and enjoy painting!👍
