People have sked me how to paint glass. My answer is always, you don't paint glass. You paint the reflections off the glass.
Absolutely it totally is about the reflections on the glass that gives it the appearance.
My art teacher is going to be impressed at my painting when I got your advice you’re my hero of the day
Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial . I find painting glass so challenging but love to include as theme to some of my pieces. Your step by step instructions were so helpful. Thanks again!
You are very welcome happy painting to you😁
What kind of material you painted on?
@@tibilk1474 great question! So I’m using a regular cotton pre-stretched canvas size 8“ x 10“ and I’m using Master’s Touch brand acrylic paint😁
Dude this is cool but you could probably shred on guitar with your fast butterfly movements when your hands
WOW! It looks like an actual glass jar. I am stunned. Love it.
Thank you let me know if you have a request to see and follow a painting you desire and happy painting to you😀
Wow, that's amazing Mike! Love the easy, comfortable, teaching style.
Thank you so much auntie Gwen!😁
Very nice painting! How would you paint a glass jar, or container but it’s filled with something like flowers, a fish or grapes? Would they have some kind of reflection or bending?
I would say that whatever the object is in the glass would have a distortion to it and in that way it will really bring out the realistic, transparency and reflection of the glass in that way so in essence, it’s more of an experiment and how you want to make that distortion, but what’s cool about acrylics as you know they dry so fast that if you don’t like an angle or the way that the distortion looks, you can always cover it up with your background color and get closer to what it should be or until you like what you see. I hope that helps and happy painting to you.😁
Great presentation. Giving me courage to try it. Didn’t know how to tackle it before. Thanks.
Beautiful!!!
AMAZING!
What kind of pallet are you using? New painter here.😊
I’m using a glass palette that I bought on Amazon a few years ago it’s really awesome and it’s easy to clean with a razor knife however I use plastic wrap to put over it just so I don’t have to clean all the mess later….happy painting to you😁
Nice tutorial, would have been much better if your hand and shadow didn’t keep getting in the way and the top cut off from the camera. That being said you’ve done an amazing job on this.
@@Blue.Willow7 thank you so much for the feedback and I aim to give better views in the future and have been working on trying to get better at that. Happy painting to you.😁
@@TheAcrylicAsylumwithMikeFerris thank you and happy painting to you also.☺️

What's amazing is that as realistic as it looks it's really one of the easiest paintings ever and there's not much to it at all

Awesome and happy painting to you😁
Thanks so much! Your way of teaching is great!
Thank you for your feedback that means a lot to me. Let me know if you have any suggestions and Happy Painting 😁
What color were you putting down at 8:00
Was it a grey or a lighter color of the background,
Thanks for your question and feedback. So it was basically the background color to knock back some of that dark shadow color that was in the glass. I hope that helps. Let me know if I can try to help some more and happy painting to you.😁
@@TheAcrylicAsylumwithMikeFerris thank you kindly good sir, much appreciated!
Wow Mike! Great job with the video
Hey Meagan thanks!!
That was amazing!
Thank you Elaine!😁
Great tutorial.
Thanks so much
Great tutorial! Do you usually sketch it before?
Thank you for your feedback I appreciate that and yes, I always sketch my images before painting them. In fact, on the more detailed ones I have traceable images available on Patreon if you would like to check that out and in every video in the description box, I have a short video link on how I transfer images after drawing them on regular paper to the size of the canvas using wax transfer paper and a stylus which is nice so that I don’t have to erase a bunch of times on my actual canvas. Let me know if you have any questions or other comments and thanks again for all of your support and feedback and happy painting to you.😁
@@TheAcrylicAsylumwithMikeFerris thank you so much, just started painting and living your page! Just subscribed 👌
