Great way of painting. As I am a beginner I think it is more difficult for me to draw loosly and baldly like you do. I feel more secure with detailed painting.
I'm just starting in watercolor. I've always painted in acrylics. So I tried to be perfect. Thank you so much for your explanation and soft voice. I will follow you Sir ❤
Very nice! You make it look so easy. As someone who tends to carefully paint inside the lines, I need to follow your advice to initially connect all of the various elements with a single wash of paint. I do recognise the difference it makes. But, without your obvious talent, it’s easier said than done. 😀
You are indeed a God-send! I started with acrylics but got hooked on watercolours. I could however not understand that there are no tutorials in the way I like to paint! Then along came you. Thanks for your inspiration!
Very instructive video. I am going to study further how you deemphasized everything but your focal point, how you connected the shapes and how you harmonized the colors. Thank you for sharing.
Great demo with some useful tips. I’d love to hear (or have you list in the description) all those colors in your palette. I caught yellow ochre, cobalt, and alizarin but not the rest. Maybe in the next vid!?
Great demonstration and love the loose wet in wet technique and utilization of the bead. That sharp point on the brush you are using is nice. What size and brand of brush is that? I’d like to add one like that to my brush supply. Thanks so much for the wonderful tutorial.
Enjoyed your tutorial love your teaching methods. Easy to follow. I paint in the similar type style but I love your techniques. It makes it so much easier. May I ask the name of the brush that you use? Thank you again. Cheers.
I live and study art in Bourges, right in the middle of France, do you happen to also live here or near this city? If so do you have a gallery where you expose your art?
th-cam.com/video/eZMwTdpAV90/w-d-xo.html In the above video I talk about my materials. Thanks for watching. I mainly use escoda ultima and perla size 14.
I have been painting for over 20 years, certainly the 10 years every day and it is this level of practice that I believe gives me the confidence to handle watercolour. However I still find it a challenge. I tend not to worry too much about colour, I think more about the tonal values and colour temperature.
Beautiful work! Could you tell me why you didn’t complete the contour of the arches of the bridge? It seems to me the most beautiful part of a stone bridge is its arches.
After leaving my first comment, I wonder if the reason you didn’t paint the arches of the bridge is because you wanted to keep the houses as the center of interest? Painting the arches clearly would tend to lead the viewer’s eyes away?

True, it take confidence to be loose...it will come.
Thank you , I thought one has it or not

Gorgeous. The darks added at the end against those blended beautiful lights really makes everything come alive in my opinion!
We need good darks in our paintings, thank you for watching 😀

Where obtain brushes from, and approx price.
Good painting
Escoda Perla size 14...very popular brand so most art suppliers will stock. Thanks for watching.
Great! 🤗
Thank you! 😃
When you first started the water you said 'put something down there' without saying which colour it was. What colour was it plz? Lovely painting!
A mixture of cobalt blue and Alizarin Crimson. Thanks for watching.
I live and study art in Bourges, right in the middle of France, do you happen to also live here or near this city? If so do you have a gallery where you expose your art?
I am in the Indre, I have an Expo in September. Details will be on my website near the time. www.robertmeeworkshops.com
Good luck with your art.
Could you please tell us what brushes you are using?

What is the name of the village. You name it right at the beginning, but i don't understand it.
This was a painting of La Celle Dunoise.
@@RobertMeeArtist Thanks!
what brush is that? holds a great tip ! one doesn’t need a small brush for fine details if you have this
Yes this is the Escoda Perla size 14. Very useful for painting in this loose style.
@@RobertMeeArtist thank u so much ☺️
what make is the brush ? i love it :)
Escoda Perla size 14. Thanks for watching.
awesome thanks for the speedy reply@@RobertMeeArtist
Did you use the same brush for the entire painting?
I tend to use a large mop like the escoda ultima size 14 for large areas and a escoda perla size 14 for the detail parts.
How did you learn about colour?
I have been painting for over 20 years, certainly the 10 years every day and it is this level of practice that I believe gives me the confidence to handle watercolour. However I still find it a challenge. I tend not to worry too much about colour, I think more about the tonal values and colour temperature.
Did you begin with West paper?
Hi. No, I normally start with dry paper. Thanks for watching.
What is the name of your palette?
Liz Deakin. I find a palette with good size wells helps.
How did the yellow and blue in the sky not turn into green?
It was yellow ochre which seems to be fine, maybe say cadmium yellow might go green! Don't mess with it too much and it will be fine.
whats the name of that brush
I used the escoda perla size 14.
👏👏👏🍀
Thank you 😊

You were correct in your second comment.
After leaving my first comment, I wonder if the reason you didn’t paint the arches of the bridge is because you wanted to keep the houses as the center of interest? Painting the arches clearly would tend to lead the viewer’s eyes away?
I wanted to keep it very loose and atmospheric. Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
