Lighten colors with white and or yellow with acrylics

You can lighten colors with white, yellow or combination of these two. Yellow works great to lighten orange, red, brown and sometimes green colors. For blue and purple most of the times it's better to only use white, because blue gets green when you add yellow and purple gets brown or gray.

That's great! Acrylics are tough when you come from oils, but... when you master them a bit, then not only are you a great acrylic painter, it also helps with oils and every other type of paint!

excellent advice. I did a grayscale, large scale octopus mural and I used yellow white mixture and it blended like a dream. I am working my way through your videos and they have all been excellent!
