    That statement from Philipsen is one of the most classic non-apologetic apologies I've ever seen. He leads with a whine, then claims to apologize by saying he hadn't intended anything, whuch is total shit as he rode TWICE towards Van Aert when he had two options to ride straight and you know sprinters are hyper aware if anyone us right next to them. Then he blames the sport. ZERO responsibility taken or fucks given. Now I hope Cav takes the remaining sprints from him directly. By two bike lengths.

    Remco thought he had a puncture due to sound. He was wrong. Jonas did not recon due to injuries. Wasn't planned that way. Jasper and Cav were warned the morning of the stage he was relegated because they both shot across the field the day before when Cav won. So Jasper was literally told that morning to knock it off. Glad he was relegated...he is the most dangerous sprinter in the game...and an asshole.

      Couldn’t agree more - have been shouting that at the telly constantly (strangely enough the judges didn’t take any heed!). There is no denying Jasper is a great sprinter but he constantly deviates from his line, does other sneaky moves and boy does he whine about others. I wonder how well he would do without VDP.

    I think it was Phillipson who caused Pederson to crash when he swung over to follow Cav on his stage 5 victory, if you watch the video he just swings across when he sees Cav on the left side and squeezes the other riders who were already there. He is dangerous.

      As a Dane I can tell it was Philipsen who caused Mads Pedersen's crash. At that point Mads was very close to overtake the Green jersey instead he’s out of the race during the injuries from the crash… I don’t understand that Jasper Philipsen can get away with it time after time….

    the biggest problem with Jasper's / Alpecin's antics is that they have raised the temperature in the TDF peleton from last year and the other teams just aren't taking it now and are pushing back, literally. I dread to think the wreck that could happen.

  • @litespud
    @litespud 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I was wondering, as I watched and noticed that Pog did seem to ease off a little toward the end, did he give the stage to Remco (or at least not herniate himself contesting first place). Once he knew that Jonas lost time, he was OK with Remco winning his first Tour stage. He knows that he can put enough time into Remco in the mountains to immunize himself against losing time in the last TT - he just needs to watch Jonas

    • @lysanatt
      @lysanatt 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course he wasn't giving anything to Remco. What he did was to consider risk vs safety, not wanting to crash to take a win that would risk the win of the Tour. In that light, a TT stage means nothing.

    Cleaner backgrounds to your videos but they are cheesy. Your biggest area for improvement is your lighting design. Current setup is very flat. Create more distance to your backgrounds and add directional lighting (main, hair and kicker). This will improve the quality instantly. You are fast becoming the goto for cycling news. So tweak the brand and get more followers. Thanks for your vids. Thanks to Chris. Love hearing his opinions.

      Exactly my thoughts. He clearly has the power when he chased after Cav in Stage 5 but decided to veer sharp left to follow his wheel instead of powering thru in a straight line. He definitely contributed to Pederson's crash when the riders in front slowed. Jasper is reckless AF.

  • @ProffessorSeen1
    @ProffessorSeen1 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    It’s also important to note that it’s not just chainline. A bigger front ring decreases the chain tension which also reduces losses to friction. Chain tensions is equal to
    (pedal force) x (crank length) / (chainring radius)

    The situation in which Remco would’ve been able to ride his own skinsuit would have been if Pog was still eligible for the white jersey and Remco was supposed to ride it in behave of Pog. Meaning, if he is the owner of the jersey, he is supposed to ride with it. This is partially an assumption

    Yes, Jasper is a dangerous rider, no doubt, but that is good for the business. He and his kind of heros are easy to sell. And as everybody knows, Heros might be seriously wounded and only the real one is returning even stronger than before. Hi Primus, Jonas, Cav, ... Some principles will never change. The Circus has just changed its appearance.
    At stage 5, Cav has ~ 1,5 bike length distance to the following sprinters after turning from far right to middle left - after checking out (once, as I found out not three times, Chris. By the way, I think he deviated so badly only to block out the stronger sprinters on the left side of the road. This move only secured his win. Clever Cav, as we know him.) So Cav left his track, but not causing a direct danger to others. 1,5 bike length is a quite securing distance for pros, on speed. ;-)
    Jasper was causing the dangerous situation, when he instinctively followed Cav to the far left. Jasper rode directly into the 1,5 bike length and the following sprinters and Mads crashed badly. This is clearly forbidden as UCI rules state "Sprints 2.3.036 Riders shall be strictly forbidden to deviate from the lane they selected when launching into the sprint and, in so doing, endangering others."
    But of course no reaction by Le Tour on such an historic money raining day like Cav has produced for them. A real pitty for Jasper, not going just straight on, this might have let him overtake even Cav that day. And furthermore on stage 6 he would not have been punished for hindering WvA, as he was not last year. Maybee even Phil Bauhaus might not have been punished at stage 5. By the way Cav had pushed him to the right causing the deviation.
    No, that is no butterfly effect nor irony, that is what all uncontrolled powers do. Just name it. Have fun! ;-) Cu

    In most grand tour you need to wear the shirt/jersey /suite provided by the organiser In the tour the France for sure! You can not make a replica you need to use what is provided to you. You can not even use a shirt that was made for you but is from the same brand. If Remco was wearing white but is not the real owner of white he could opt to wear his own world champion suite. For example imagine Pogi was Remco's age and because Pogi is wearing already Yellow and is not able to ride with white Remco could wear white but is not the owner of white. However if you don't have a Jersey in a race (Yellow, polcadot, green, etc.) you can ride you won suite from an other brand with the sponsors logo's on it as long as the team and the sponsor allow it. It happens with more stuff than only clothes. It happens with bikes, shoes, sadles etc.
    And about Pogi easing off, it is more about the nature of the course. It was more or les in 3 parts.
    The first was technical which is better or Pogi but Remco is more eager that is why they were so close. Second part was uphill where Pogi is at the same level or even better then Remco. And the las part where it is all about the Watts vs Cx (aerodynamic drag coefficient) and that is where Remco shines. He has so much power for such a small guy with such a low CX. He is called the Aero bullet for a reason.
    Jasper disaster is his Nickname for an other reason. It is not given by his formal director sportives but by Alexander Christophe.
    He was called Jasper disaster because it was always chaos with Jasper, forgetting his shoes, other stuff, showing up late etc. but all team mates love him and even though something happened with Wout they are friends. The are from the same region by the way. @cademedia I'm happy to answer some things if you guys have questions.
    If I'm not mistaking UCI rules say you you can not deviate from your chosen line and if you are the first you choose your line. You do't need to sprint in a lane. which means if the road has a bent and the sprinter takes the shortest way to the finis line it might happen that he keeps his line but not his lane. The problem with the UCI is that they are not consistent and most of the time only react when something happens. Yes Jasper his punishment was correct but Cav should also be punished not for his sprint but for the things which happened before but the did not do it because everyone wanted Cav to take his 35th. Other thing is also all main sprinters got a visit from the UCI with a warning what you can an can't do etc. The UCI went to Jasper's team not to Jasper which they did do with all other riders. Still it does not make up for Jasper's sprinting but it shows UCI is not consistent and as long as the are not consistent (sometimes the punish, sometimes they do not) it will keep happening. The same with the drafting behind cars to come back after a puncture, crash etc.. 95 percent of the times they tolerate it so I understand Cav his frustration.

    I'm in no way condoning Jasper's sprint, but I think Jasper is just a racer at heart and is just trying to increase his chance of winning as much as possible. He's like a Max Verstappen/Ayrton Senna, they will be in that space and it is up to you to decide if you are going to crash or not. This is probably more dangerous on a bike race than even possibly in an f1 car though so, not the best mentality to have.

    I'm going back to a day old video to make this comment. I'm unsubscribing from Cade Media for the duration of the Tour. I love your channel. It's great that you decided to do daily Tour reaction videos. But your thumbnails are spoilerish. A lot of us are always hours behind in our race watching. We're in time zones all over the world. If there was a way to mute your thumbnails, or if TH-cam gave us a way to delay their appearance in our feeds, that would be great, but they don't. If someone is attracted to your Tour coverage, they just will be...it won't be based on the tease in the thumbnail. I wish TH-cam content creators would get this. I completely bailed in Chris Horner earlier this year because of this. Creators need to trust their relationships with their audiences and refrain from this.

      It seems the biggest problem is that TH-cam seems to bury alot of content. I have this issue even though I have watched history turned off

    A riskfree bunchsprint doesn't exist and would be boring to watch.
    "Closing the door" is a trick of the trade and not that dangerous between sprinters.
    WvA should have used his shoulder to open the gap but didn't have the speed or the guts.
    You can't blame him after his latest crash and injuries.
