The hardest part about building a team in business is accepting that 1) some of your team members will leave, 2) some of your team members will take other team members with them, and 3) despite all this, you have to be willing to help them grow to their full potentially without being bitter or feeling scorned by the process. The only person you can control is YOU.
Paul. very true. You have to help others grow no matter what they end up doing with the knowledge. The person you hire and grow will be the person who hires you, or helps you get hired again later. I've seen it happen. Nurturing other designers to be managers has been the most rewarding part of my career.
I have been freelancing for some time now, and I noticed the impact of networking. So much so that I start taking care of my network. The doubts on whether or not I'm doing right, and what should I do next are gone. Thank sir for the sharing of knowledge and helping new designers like me in improving.
Vee, Sharing stuff is one key activity. There are obviously many more - but I'm sure you are experimenting with many as you grow and nurture your connections. Thanks for watching - more to come.
Nice! That is the kind of stuff we can use on a daily bases, just being a decent human being. We all need help sometimes and if we are helpful we won't be on our own in times of need. Great video!
This is on point Phillip. I’ve started investing more time in networking and focusing my efforts on growing my network as well as adding value as much as possible to my network. Nice video. Much appreciated!
Ryan Dailey, Thanks so much!~ It sounds like you are doing the right things - good for you man! Can you do me a favor as a small thank you? Please share my video with a friend or two! I'm trying to build my subscribers. More to come!
So true. We are all in the relationship business and building relationships is a skill that is becoming more important as the world becomes more "connected" and digital. I agree 100% and I'm grateful I've had a chance to build a relationship with you, buddy! :-)
Me too Andy, Thanks again for sharing your time with me the other day on Zoom, I really appreciate your input on the mastermind topic. You gave me some valuable nuggets to consider.
Damn, I remember watching your video about 2019 trends for design before I started my channel, I think. Just found you again! I think that networking applies to so many fields, even with my new channel, for example, you gotta get to know people within the industry for a variety of stuff like collabs, shout outs and advice, which make the difference between linear and exponential growth. Smart points!
@@PhilipVanDusen Thank you too....there is so much to watch in TH-cam, but some channels, are must to watch, because, I need to learn and get ideas for my business...
hey NZ- great to see you man. I hoped you liked this one. The idea came to me at the last second on recording day. Sometimes the simplest and easiest ideas are the most effective.
