Quite a few good sounding books! I’m currently reading A Fatal Inheritance and I’m learning a lot of about the genetic connections between certain cancers and how longgg it took the CDC and NIH to finally see the connection via DNA advancements. Until then a few doctors were insistent that a genetic link existed only to be poo poohed and put down at national medical conventions for YEARS!!! Shocking how what we know and accept today was not known even within my own lifetime. 😢 great book!
These videos are deadly for my TBR! For the first time this year I'm going to take a look at the net gain on my TBR list at the end of 2024 and this certainly is not helping :)

Olive, I have been watching your videos for years, & I have always loved watching them, re-watching them, & then adding to my own TBR. I recently started a job as a bookseller this winter, & now I am even more excited when I see your videos about new releases, which I didn't even think was possible. I watched this one at least three times, because it is so helpful to hear & think about the new releases you spoke about today. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Table for Two. There are so many exciting new releases coming out in the next 3 months. One I'm super excited for is The Familiar by Leigh Bardugo, a historical fantasy that takes place in Spain during the Inquisition.
Ahh, so many good books coming out this year. I will need to get my library hold fingers poised for action ☺️. Question I have looked to see if Louise Penny is releasing another of her books, but I couldn’t find any news of any, but for some reason I seem to miss her announcements every time. Have you heard anything?
Also, this book maybe just for writers, but Natalie Goldberg has a new release Writing on Empty for July 9th. I love reading her books which are all part memoirs.

James, the new book by Percival Everett, is absolutely wonderful. It tells Huck's story in the view of Jim his friend the slave. Best book I've read since Demon Copperhead but much shorter. I almost DNFd it after the first 2 chapters but so glad I didn't.

Wow. So many books that sound interesting. I just ordered Cultish. A friend of mine works for a company that matches different kinds of insurance, death benefits, etc. that is set up like a pyramid scheme. Kind of similar to the Melaluca model. I've watched some of the videos and posts on FB and it seems borderline with being cultists, in my mind. I'm exited to read Cultish to learn more. The author's new book sounds interesting too.
I just started reading on a regular basis in January and my goal is to read more non-fiction.

Several of these sound good, but especially Light Eaters. When I first heard of An Immense World I thought, "Wish there was a book like this about plants". Now there will be!
I'm also interested in the Amor Towels book, Sea Turtle, Night Flyer, maybe Mary Jane. I loved Lab Girl, hated Huck Finn. So we'll see.

I’m reading ‘James’ now, after rereading Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. I love Percival Everett- I’m 80% thru the retelling and loving his take on this story..
